1.
Ah, I must have misunderstood, I thought it was a new one. That restricts the options a little, possibly.
I imagined it could have sat in the shop, new and almost untouched, for years, and by the sound of goonieman's description, there would have been a good reason for that...
2. What a shame. Gorgeous, but definitely an old Rockbass, as the bridge shows. Pre-2010? Or even older? The serial number should give the last two digits of the year of manufacture.
3. Bump with lower price - and checking if the ad goes to the top, as we are having trouble.
4.
In 1986, aged 14, I discovered Metallica. Things went downhill from that point!
No, believe me, you mean uphill! Metallica, Megadeth and Testament (and Slayer to a lesser extent) made the 80s an absolutely fantastic decade for metal. And of course we had the resurgence of Aerosmith, and the hair metal of Crue, Poison, Jovi et al, as well as new appreciation for Brit veterans Maiden, Priest, Sabbath and Motorhead... Ahhh I'm feeling better just mentioning them all. I fell in love with distorted guitar, epic multi-octave-run, wah-enhanced solos, and operatic singing. It was, however, perfectly possible to appreciate the pop side of the 80s at the same time. I remember (and still like hearing their songs on the radio) most of the bands you guys have mentioned, I agree that it was a good time to listen to bass in pop and pop-rock, which in a sense compensated for bass usually being a poor second to guitar in the metal scene (with the obvious exceptions of mostly Steve Harris and Geezer Butler). It was great to be in your late teens or early twenties in the 80s.

6.
Good idea, but it has to be run by three or four people at the same time I think?
No, that's the average stand at the LBGS on a bad year, not the SE Bass Bash...
7. Welcome back, Nik! Some good suggestions are on this thread too: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/265694-south-east-bass-bash-2015-looking-for-suggestions-and-seminarsworkshops/

9. Phil, check out the first post in this thread for detailed info. Rob, don't you start...!
10. Thank you all for these suggestions - I'll point Nik to this thread, and we'll see what we can organise in due course.

13. And a video medley from the gig! https://youtu.be/P2GztNcalEM
14. Some more King Ralph action (with flautist Keith Waithe), this time outdoors at Kew Market, last Sunday 05/07.

16.
Point of order. If Happy Jack is bringing the entire population of China (presumably at a tenner a throw) do exhibitors still need to pay?
More importantly, we could then hold Kiwi's wedding at the bash!
17. While Nik enjoys his well-deserved week of holiday, we might start throwing a few ideas on to the table. The bash is on 26th September. What would you like to do at the bash? Any topics you'd like to attend a talk about? Would you give a talk about one of your favourite topics? Let us know: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/265547-south-east-bass-bash-no9-surrey-saturday-26th-september-2015/ Ta
18. This is what we are talking about re. Warwick (low B saddle, minus spring, to the right). The Thumb is similar:
19. We should probably write an open letter to Warwick engineers and publish it on their forum.
20. Oh, and I think we should also mention the intonation issue. Anyone managed to correctly intonate a low B string on a Warwick without removing the saddle screw to push the saddle all the way back? I had to do just that on my two Corvette Pros, on my Rockbass Fortress 5 and two other Rockbass Corvettes. Been told by experienced players that other makes have the same problem, sometimes even with intonation of the E string, so it's not just Warwick. Irritates me like hell.
21. Warwick are being a bit slow offering a design improvement here, arent' they. And don't ever try to install a Thomastik low B, then - they are absolutely huge. I've still got a new one in my spares bag - never been able to fit it on any of my 5ers, with old bridge or new...
22. Be careful not to damage the winding on the string, though! I've just noticed you said 'the guide slot' not 'the hole' - so you have the new-style bridge. So the D'Addario roundwound B is even fatter than their Chrome?? I would get rid of the silk and delicately push it down, then, rather than file the slot.
