1. How's about Black Beauties £18 delivered to Snowy Leeds? Andy
2. I use the Sennheisser Freeport rack mount system. Lives in a 2U rack with my Korg tuner and a power rack. Sits between my Orange Terror amp and SP212 cab. Works a treat and have had it for 5 or more years. Has 4 frequencies. Never a moments problem. Have only had to replace th lead once. Never experienced any feedback/buzzes etc and love having no spaghetti around my feet.
3.
I can't imagine what playing in a covers band down the pub might be like.
It's great!
4. I'm another older bass playing gent. Had my 50th in January and played the first hour adding in some of my faves which wouldn't usually make the covers set THEN my pal played bass for the second set and different mates (most of whos parties I'd previously played) took turms to sing one while I had a few beers and partied! Was an ace night.
5. Its a great hobby to have. Started in original material bands, after years of slog realised I was never gonna get the success I wanted. Stopped playing a while then asked to join a covers band. Tried it and loved it. Have no delusions over where it might lead but play to some amazing crowds, absolutely love it and even make a few quid to reinvest in new gear of course! Andy
6. What a smashing guy. Bought his USA Jazz. Agree - could have nattered all day, really friendly even made the coffee! See ya in the mosh pit Roon man! Andy
7. I bought a Taylor Gig Bag. Absolutely ace. Everything goes in. Loads of pockets. Keeps everything organised.
8. Yet again Will proves himself to be the nicest chap on Basschat. Bought his Geddy Lee Jazz. Great price, lovely guitar and easy, enjoyable transaction. Always a pleasure. Thanks Andy.
9. Is this being sold by Basschats own Big Red X? It looks ace, Not sure it's for me though. Good luck with the sale! Andy
10. Really liked that. A bit Goth a bit Garbage. Definite Nephilim/Mission sound going on
11. Beej in Leeds is quality. You can find him under the Old Chapel rehearsal studio. Andy
12. I recently played at my 50th birthday. I am the singer too so I played the first hour then a pal took over on bass and I had named mates singing individual songs for the second set. Was absolutely ace, after my stint, I relaxed and got squiffy while the guest singers and bassist rocked out. Definitely woud do that again. They all loved it.
13. Played a 50th birthday party in Leeds on saturday. The girls nephew was there aged 6. During set up kept asking for a go on my guilar. I let him have a twang at half time. Cameras out throughout the room. Of course he then wanted to play again so I grabbed a tambourine from the car. He then joined us as a guest member. Very cute, got loads of attention from the ladies in the audience. Think we might invite him to all future gigs!! Wasn't something we especially love doing but cost nothing and was really appreciated by the crowd. All left happy
14. SOLD - To me! Its bloomin lovely!
15. Bought Dave's Ashdown Little Bastard rig. Absolute pleasure to deal with. Great item. Fab comms. Perfect transaction. Buy with confidence. Andy
16. Airborne toxic events' Some time around midnight. Love it but unlikely to make it into the set
17. Not really my cup of tea but I think that's a pretty bass. Good luck with the sale buddy
18. You can count me in. How about somewhere like The Adelphi in Leeds? It's in the centre. Is a nice pub. Has a big room upstairs that may be hireable? Either an event or just a beer? Thoughts?
19. I went to see Hooky in December. The band had both him and a second bass player. He does play his bass more like a lead than a trad bass so the sound worked really well. Have to say it was a bloomin fantastic show. Good voice, great songs and playing plus his inimitable style. In terms if master class, I'd defo love to see him. May not be to everyone's taste but hey, I don't especially dig Wootton. Different strokes etc....Andy
20. So is it for sale still? PMs sent no replies. If its sold or not for sale could you let us know please? Thanks
21.
I don't like a gretsch..... This one to be precise....
I have one of these! Bought it for my son a few years ago. I've had worse but have to agree its not my fave....good job was damn cheap
