Ours was ok after all. A lot of v pissed people several of whom left early having had full days on the lash. Main difference was that there were lots of dancers as soon as we went on. Some interesting moves being busted too! God bless beer. Now trying to gee myself up to go do it again tonight.......

About to embark on what promises to be a bonkers night. Playing on Mad Friday in Leeds. Facebook and twitter is full of people already out boozing - hopefully will be great (as will tomorrows too) but who knows? ......... expecting lots of "can I have a go on your guitar mate?" , "my mates in a band can he sing one?" last wek had a guy come up when we were 30 mins in to packing up and say "mate - I'm dying of cancer, can you play Christmas baby please come home?" Blimey. Ah well.....bring it on.....

He he - don't despair Fumps. I'm sure he'll be in touch. Wonder where they rehearse in Bramley? -
...and that's why this is such a great forum. Good work guys and thankyou again. Andy

I use Netobjects Fusion to do mine www.thecardinals.co.uk. Works a treat

Centre for me as I'm the singer too. Price I pay is having to squeeze in front of kick drum and being last to fit my gear in as guitarists take left n right and drummer sets up his enormous kit.

There were loads of skins, old style punks, oi punks, normal looking folks like me and all ages (little kids - 60+ year olds) Really nice atmosphere. i chuckled at a guys T shirt though, dressed in docs, short jeans, braces and a T shirt reading "not racist - just bald"
-
Did anyone else go? a great day, some fab bands including Rancid featuring Matt Freeman on bass. Interesting that most films would have a crowd like this pitched as thugs yet was a really good atmosphere with people looking after each other. Punk's not dead you know?

Hiya - been using a Roland Bass Cube 30 for ages. I use it pretty much every day and it mainly stays at home but occasionally gets taken to a band members house for quietish rehearsal. Thinking about buying something new and maybe a bit louder. Must be going deaf in my old age! having had a cursery look, I am thinking maybe the Orange Crush Bass 50, also seen that Ampeg Micro (probably a bit more powerful than I need AND not as portable as I really need) BUT looks sexy. Any suggestions boys and girls? XMas GAS - its criminal ! Andy

Feel a bit cheeky but if they're still available, I wouldn't mind having a play? Let me know and I'll pm address. Thx buddy. Andy

Try this place. Hand made. Great value. Top guy. http://www.tan-my-hide.co.uk/. Good luck. Andy

I use one I got from Dawsons music on line. About £40. Great piece of kit. Does the job plus loads of pockets. Looks like this bit bigger (couldn't face trawling their site in 3G network any more) http://www.dawsons.co.uk/attitude-pro-double-electric-guitar-bag
Good luck Andy -
I reported the same here earlier this year. That time a cheap Jazz. Same blx working, could arrange free courier. Seems the next stage is to try get you to pay via some kind of voucher. Reported to Gumtree etc. Tw@ts

Some people do some seriously stupid thing, I mean, buying a Gibson bass......

That hurts man, that hurts.......mine is both beautiful and sunburst too! Not often those words are used in the same sentence.... -
Don't know if any of you guys use this site but sadly, Steve Lally the guy who set it up and runs it has succumbed to cancer over the weekend. The site is used extensively by both bands and live music fans as it featured a gig guide covering much of the North of England plus classifieds and chat forums. Steve worked tirelessly offering his services free of charge and helping raise the profiles of tons of bands. Thoughts are with Steve's family at this time. Very sad. Andy

We played at our local on Saturday. Have had a few private parties recently which although ok we're not that well attended so felt quite hard work hence Saturday was keenly anticipated. We were not disappointed. The place was packed. Loads in. 4 birthdays. Proper cross section of people. Ended up in a drunken, dancing melee with people falling over the monitors. All good natured though plus the landlord tipped us handsomely. Loved it. Andy

ha - sounds like a great idea!
