Saw them again last night at Leeds Arena. 90 mins of sing along. A great crowd, the band nailed it, Ian Brown CAN sing, Mani looked terrified as usual but was rocking a couple of different Jazz basses through his Mesa Boogie rig. Security was understandably tight but we only queued for around 15 mins on our way in. A fab night and they're doing it again tonight! Had i not being going to see The Dead Kennedy's, I'd be back for more.

Leftyhook. I was at the Brudenell gig on Friday. Was a great show. The band sound huge. Couldn't fault any of it. Especially enjoyed Blackstar. Ed and the band do a great job. Bowie fans are often proper anoraks, know every word, every nuance of every song and are hard to please but I've yet to meet one who didn't really rate UB. Another stand out moment was the guitar solo in Moorage Daydream, your man nailed it. Not lots of room for 8 of you on that stage though! See ya next time you're in Leeds. Andy

Epilogue........had a call from the police today. They interviewed the suspect (that being the one who sold the gear to Cash Converters) Guess what?,,,,he claimed, as expected, he bought the stuff from a Car Boot Sale. No way to prove otherwise so that's the end of their investigation. Now I completely appreciate it's not the crime of the century, I know there are way more important things for them to be spending time and resources on but despite being amazed and overjoyed having miraculously recovered most of my stolen kit, I can't help but feel a bit aggrieved that the thief got away scot free and there is clearly not a single deterrent to stop anyone doing this. Genuinely not meant as a slur on he police, I have been super impressed with them, nor an expectation that this should have gone further, simply a grim realisation that scrotes steal, cheat etc with little chance of penalty while most of us work hard and wouldn't dream of doing likewise. Still hope something dreadful happens to the thieving scum though.

Gear returned to me. Result. Had a short interview. Signed for it and out in 30 mins. The police explained there's little chance of charges being brought but will interview the suspect. Unless they admit the theft, it'll be closed down. It lo Is like it's been in a garage. Have cleaned everything and the amp still works. I am very happy. I have asked for a severe penalty should the scrote admit to the theft.

Just had a call from the cops. Going to see em tomorrow PM hopefully identify and collect my gear. I also emailed them pics of the rest of the stolen items. Keep your fingers crossed.

The original police report and subsequent insurance claim gave full details of the stolen items. There is no doubt these are mine.

I claimed. The claim was declined. No sign of violent break in. Any returned goods are mine. Still waiting with fingers crossed. Update to follow once I liaise with the police. Andy

Blimey - that prompted debate eh? Thanks all again for the advice and views. The best bit here is the flukey way I found out. A bassist colleague called me last week and we ended up talking amps. He is sick of hauling a big rig. I told him about my Orange Terror rig. (I bought a replacement) he went off to investigate. Then last night, he sent me a link to a local Cash Converters asking if the pictured amp was the same model - the amp in the pic was actually mine. I looked on their site and they also had my mic and other stolen items. What are the chances????? So.....here's the update: I went to the store as advised by the police. My amp was in the window. Orange Terror Bass 500W. Custom Orange wooden cabinet. Roqsolid cover £299. Bargain! I looked around and found the mic. Shure 87A, Sennheiser Freeport body pack. Mono Producer Bag. Half a dozen mic/instrument leads £99. Bargain. Spoke to the manager, advised him they're mine. He asked a few questions about how I knew (not difficult having non standard cases) he was satisfied. He said he'd take em off sale (and did do immediately) and he warned me to keep on at the police as they may be slow to respond. All in all, a thoroughly nice fella. I followed up the trip with an email to both him and the police reiterating what had been agreed. Next thing I got a call from the cops at 13.00. They've been in, recovered the items and will call me for a statement. Now that is impressive. I am waiting with fingers crossed. Sadly, my in ear receiver, ear phones, tool kit, Atlas mic stand base and iPod have gone but I have replaced em all already. Am hugely grateful to get anything back and hope that some thieving scrote gets their collar felt as a result. Time will tell. Andy

Asked the police advice. They mailed back last night (impressed) with this: Thanks for email Can you attend at the shop and pass the crime number to the manager reference this item and ask them to remove item from sale pending officers attending to seize it. I have activated the crime and will allocate the crime out for investigation. A officer in charge will be I touch with you in due course but I am afraid I cannot give a time or date for this as this will depend on the officers commitments but it will be actioned. I am on my way. Fingers crossed and thx for the advice all. Andy
