5. i have told them heres the reply: Thanks for the tips. You seem to know what you're talking about. After your email yesterday I did a little research and with all the different models and series that are available, it was a little overwhelming. But then what do you expect from a drummer =/ I didn't even know you could get fake Rickenbackers. But what sealed it for me was the sound when I tested it. It does sound amazing, so the thought that it could be a fake didn't cross my mind. Do you have any idea as to how much we might be able to retail it for? Thanks again for the advice and help, Jake Cash Generator
6. nice basses to inherit the washburns are quality my old guitarist had the guitar version great guitar i was always telling him to use it at a gig he never did though and the zzb is a classic too nice collection
7. most shims i have had in any guitars or basses ive had have tended to be a piece of sandpaper
8. ive owned a few precisions in my time i had a wine coloured 90s mexican p bass was ok i changed the pickups fit and finish were fine and it played nicely, personally i like the japanese precisions which is probably due to the fact i played an 80s E serial one for many years and its what i got used to, also neck pockets always seem spot on ive had 3 usa precisions my hot rod p bass had a gap in the neck pocket but otherwise played brilliantly ive now got a squier silver series which i changed the pickup on and its as good as any p bass ive owned i love the neck on it and i like vintage style frets so its personal preference for me but all the newer mexican p basses like the 50s and roadworn look top notch basses to me ive yet to try one though
9. i was learning jumping jack flash which was going to be the first song played live by our little band at a school concert back in 1980 something, i learnt the tune but sadly my management ie my mum & dad had booked a holiday which clashed with the gig so my moment of fame had to go on the backburner
10. lol its rare alright

14. I remember alot of marlins around in the 80s i had a marlin sidewinder bass and my best mate at school had the marlin guitar i used to go to kingfisher music and gawp at aria sb basses and modern music in basingstoke always had yamahas but sadly i could only afford the bow neck marlin with two pickups both crap Another bassist i knew had a columbus looked a bit like steve harris's bass and sounded pretty good
15. I remember working at some place over the christmas period and hearing The waitresses christmas wrapping song for some reason i love that bass line.
16. id never really heard of them till i saw this great band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XktInhZH4v0
17. its just a bit of playful banter i think old M.D himself wouldnt be too concerned the thing is i personally wouldnt sell a budding musician a crap guitar, it makes the job of learning alot harder and there more likely to give up as a result of an unplayable guitar you can see on some his auctions some of the work is not what you would expect from a person who professes to repair guitars

21. that neck was probably hewn from the same tree as fender custom shop used in fact i recall a story of Trevor one of the custom shop employees clocking off for work one evening and as we all know Trevor in the custom shop was a forgetful old soul well on this particular evening Trev left his kebab in the oven in the custom shop canteen jumped on his moped got home blissfully unaware of his timebomb kebab he retired for a nap! he awoke to the sound of sirens but thought nothing of it and tucked into a bottle of bourbon and retired for the evening next morning Trev arose ate some waffles or some such and returned to his job at Fender custom shop when he arrived the place was still smoldering yes you guessed it the great fender custom shop fire of 1993 was all Trevs fault anyhow this smoke damaged relic was all that could be saved so you could say it is even rarer for it !! i did read leo Fender or at least the ghost of leo fender himself saved this neck himself hence the reason it turned up in a bin in Bracknell with no explanation spooky id say so there you have it possibly the rarest of the rare touched by the ghostly hand of Leo Fender if you look close enough you can make out a faint breath mark possibly Leo's last breath
22. I saw that as well, cant work out whats going on with the pickup though
23. there are quite a few different types but i managed to get some to fit my old dynacord on ebay so sourcing the part shouldnt be too hard
