1. My old hot rod precision had a gap excellent bass otherwise, also my old ibanez roadster has a gap also On my p bass spec list i check weight. Neck pocket. Deadspots. Bridge & pickup alignment. I must say japan fenders are very consistent
2. i have used a boss cs-2 compressor for many years i felt something was lacking in my sound till i found it ive used it for about 20 yrs plus
3. ive had my ah300smx from new, it used to be gigged now ive just got it setup in my new music room with a gk 115 and a marshall 15 cab bit loud for house but looks nice and i mainly use my blx80 at home though i cant see me ever getting rid of the smx it does everything ive ever needed from a bass head
4. ive just been playing mine through my new zoom b9.1ut i havent played alot of fretless but i do like it its just different no frets and that earthy kind of sound
5. I would say your probably right In my opinion ive owned a few basses with them they dont seem to make alot of difference to tone Dont get me wrong i like them and they have all the intonation adjustments you need i just personally now use fender vintage bridges as i like them just as much and there much cheaper
6. I had a victory sounded good but paint had crazed sold it on ebay few years back new owner stripped it back to wood sent me some pics it looked awesome!
7. I had a cardinal cb380 i think there shorter scale was nicely made but nothing special soundwise I prefer the output of a thunder 1a or an aria sb also had a vantage made in matsumoku nice basses with dimarzio pickups
8. I had a vox the same as that nice bass dimarzio pickup sound good,i had sold my gear when i was skint and my mate had the vox sat in his room for years sold it to me for £35 really liked it. another mate who was heavily into dub reggae and weed had an ampeg 1510 plugged into his sound system i hassled him till he sold it to me best cab i ever had crazy days lol! As for early 80s basses i have a westone thunder 1a also classic basses and an aria sb black and gold but i think thats 84 an ibanez roadster rs900, the last two were fate as i didnt know till after i bought them that phil lynott had used an rs900 and cliff burton some times used an sb black and gold and there two of my all time favourite bass players

15. mine turned up as well today it is a solid old unit bigger than i thought but looks the part had a quick run through only through headphones but theres alot of scope for developing some sounds of my liking and with computer connection and pre amp etc i like it makes my old korg ax300b feel inadequate

hi regarding the 505, i picked up the rs900 not long ago and was thinking it would be the 4 string equivalent of my sr505 but theres just something about the 505 that is hard to describe, its so easy to play it sounds better and the action is so low,i dont think i will ever get rid of it and its probably my first and last 5 string does everything i need i thought the rs900 being a neck thru and all that would improve things a little but the 505 just works at what it does so well and also it has a nice string tension i found the 900 with thru body stringing a bit more tighter string wise
22. looks a good deal open to offers with covers and everything wish i was closer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trace-Elliot-GP7-Base-Amp-Sub-Woofer-Tweeter-/221150177889?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D3254270504676289094%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D221150177889%26
