    Hi guys, Just wanted to know if anyone has experience of using one of these amps as a poweramp using a different preamp and if its even possible to do so? I want something I can rack so its a toss up between a powerful but cheapish bass amp or a standalone poweramp. My streamliner has a preamp input but I'm unable to rack it as cant find a rackmount kit for the life of me. Looking at the rear of the Hartke (photos) - it doesnt appear to have a preamp input and dont have experience of using 'effects send' etc - so can I plug my vtype preamp in on the back anywhere? Sorry if this is a stupid question! Thanks Freddie

    Thanks for all replies guys - much appreciated! Ideally 1u as planning to pop it into a 2u rack case along with preamp. Power wise, I'd prefer to have the headroom rather than be pushing it all the time and would like to have enough power (should I ever need it) to get the best of the cab I have which is a berg cn212.     Anyone have any experience using 1u poweramps and can recommend something? I'm looking to pair up with a trace v-type preamp. Equally if you are thinking of selling sonething then let me know. Cab I'm using is 700 watts / 4ohms so need something quite powerful. Many thanks in advance! Freddie

    Thinking of selling my Berg cab, only 7 months old and still in pristine condition - comes with the thick berg cover. Fantastic cab, and can get very loud - not that I've ever needed to push it. I'll probably regret selling it!! Will get some photos up over the next few days. Based in Swindon. £800 Thanks Freddie

    Hi guys, Basically I am looking to use a genz benz streamliner as a power amp and 2 different preamps for live usage. I currently have the trace v-type and am on the lookout for an ampeg svp cl. I am after a rack device which will enable me to switch between preamps for different songs etc. Worse case a pedal will do. Anyone have experience of doing this and if so, firstly how would I connect 2 preamps to the poweramp which has one preamp in/out?? Or will the device have this? Any recommendations???     Up for sale is my 2007 American Fender Jazz bass Deluxe in Sunburst/Rosewood which I purchased from a fellow bass chatter a few months back. Its a fabulous bass and in lovely condition however, I tend to use my passive jazz more and I cannot afford to let this sit there so I have decided to move it on. This has the SCN (samarium cobalt noiseless) pickups and a 3 band active eq system. The body is slightly smaller than a standard jazz. I will include the OHSC in the sale. Overall condition I would rate at 9.5 out of 10. Based in Swindon, you are very welcome to come try it out! Looking for £700 (down from £750)!! Many thanks Freddie

    Hi guys, As I can't for the life of me find a rackmount kit for my genz streamliner (which I was planning to use as a poweramp for a valve preamp I'm looking at purchasing), I'm now thinking of getting a light/mid weight poweramp. It has to be something simple but powerwise I'm looking at around 800/1000 watts to pair with a Trace Elliot V-type preamp to run through a berg cn212 cab. Any recommendations for amps that work well with this particular preamp would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Freddie

    Hi guys, Up for sale is my EBS HD350 - in very good condition, it goes down to 2ohms. I acquired this in a trade with top man RolandRock earlier this year, and whilst I occasionally use it - I tend to use my Streamliner 900 + Tonehammer preamp set up more. Its a fantastic amp used by many top players, and despite the wattage rating it has plenty of volume - I've played outdoors to 400 people with no pa support and without pushing it too hard. I'm based in Swindon - you are very welcome to come inspect and try it out for yourself. I will try and get some photos up over the coming days. Price drop from £375 to £340. Thanks Freddie

    Hi guys, Basically, the only thing putting me off getting an Aguilar DB750 is the weight, so I'm wondering just how close the DB659 preamp with Genz Benz Streamliner 900 as the power amp will get me to it soundwise? I currently have the tonehammer pedal through the Streamliner ' so would it be a pointless task to get rid of the pedal and replace with the db659??? I have tried the th500 but prefer the tubey sound of the genz. I'm not convinced.that the th500 is in the same tonal park as the db750 (not sure whether its even meant to be - that could just be my.lack of kmowledge!). Thanks in advance Freddie
