1. So band practice was good, my tone was easily the best I've heard it. Classic clanky pbass IMO. The valves were at the stage of just breaking up which I like to give it some beef Treble - 12 o'clock Mid - 3 o'clock Bass - 10 o'clock Gain - 12 o'clock I also swapped the pickups back to the originals so its a mixture of things but changing the valves has definitely cleaned things up a bit and has more definition. So I'm pleased and would recommend the valve swap!
2. Looks good! Definitely agree with getting the burn on the headstock. How does the body look close up after using the wire wool? Can you see the little scratches or is it just like a matt finish?
3. Fitted within 10 minutes, only had a few tight screws to get past and that was it, covers off, old valves out, lined the new valves up(which took a few attempts which bent a few of the connectors a little but just bent them back) then tightened everything back together again. It really was easy so anyone thinking about it who isn't sure just go for it! I'll find out more tomorrow when I test it at my band practice at higher volumes but at home I can actually have 12oclock on the gain without it being really dirty! But 3oclock is when it starts getting filthy. I didn't even use the guide.......ok I just remembered it without looking thanks!

5. Nice! Where did you get the body from?
6. Very nice both in looks and sound!
7. I use the Line 6 G30 and had no issues at all with it, I cable tied the transmitter to my strap. I was using it at a practice the other week and came out of the room at the end and someone said you're using a line 6 wireless aren't you! I said yea how did you guess? I had selected channel 1 and so had he so my bass started coming out of his speaker in the next room haha. Easy fix just choose a different channel I would recommend it!
8. I've just ordered some German made RFT ECC81/12AT7 valves!
9. Ah I didn't know that so it should be fine then, thanks again!
10. I'm going for it, if they fit then good if not then I'll find out!
11. For the pickup cover On Amazon the dimensions say: Product Dimensions: 4.5 inches x 3.2 inches x 1 inches So measuring them up they should fit?
12. Thanks Lozz I thought the bridge would be tight how about the pickup cover?
13. Would a Fender 51 p bass pickup cover fit a Fender Mike Dirnt? Thanks
14. Looks really nice, I love my Highway One
15. Nice! Glad you got it all sorted
16. I like the look of the 50s precision!
17. Thanks everyone! Had a good play on it this morning
18. Well had a surprise call from the luthier and its all done, no shaving was needed. Basically some of the wood in the pocket wasn't flat and some of the paint from the refinish was in the way so just needed a light sanding around the pocket. All properly set up and ready to roll, very happy it's all sorted and thanks to everyone for their help and input
19. Thanks Gary yea I have thought of that, the bass is with the luthier at the moment and we matched up the necks and they appear to be the same thickness so he doesn't think we need to do any shaving off the neck which is good however he is stumped as to why it's doing what it is doing but is going to take a look at it in the next few days. So I am waiting to hear back what he thinks and I really hate waiting makes me think I shouldn't of bothered in the first place but lets hope its fixable
20. So had a trip down to Gary who sorted out the holes for me so thank you very much again! Unfortunately sorting this problem caused another problem, the neck sticks out towards the strings 2-4mm more than the stock neck so even with all the string saddles on max all the strings were getting choked so no notes could be played. Really frustrating and even without the shim it was still basically unplayable. I even tried taking the BadAss off and swapped with a standard Fender bridge but no real difference. I am taking it to a luthier tomorrow for some of the neck heel to be shaved off so it is the same size as the stock neck then a setup so fingers crossed this time tomorrow it'll all be sorted and playable. Really frustrating that its currently unplayable but thank you to Gary for sorting out the holes and doing a good job at trying to fix everything!
21.
You could try something like these. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item5ae24d0a3b
Thanks I'm going to get Gary to have a look at it and he has said he can sort it out so I'm 100% sure he will do a better job than me
22. Steve bought my Alesis DM5 drum kit of me and had good comms all throughout and met me halfway which was brilliant! Thanks again
23. The holes, the top right one is the biggest by far and it's easy to see how the screws aren't doing their job.
