I've just noticed this but any reason why the last fret on the neck only covers the D and G?

I would go for OOS every song on that album is excellent. When I first heard black holes and revalations(when muse streamed it on their MySpace) I hated it, but after a few listens it grew on me and now I see how good it actually is.

All very nice Dave, I have to agree with you on that scratchplate on the precision, it doesn't really do the bass justice! I really like that red/black on the jazz what colour red is that? Also how long did it take for that bit of finish to wear to the wood?

Update - Trace have been really helpful on the emails and respond quickly and they have organised for it to be picked up tomorrow to go back for repair!

Yea that's a shame but I always find you get a feeling for a bass if its right or not. I think the only thing I would change is possibly the pickups but I find the stocks are still good.

Pretty much what's been said but try, Different bass Different leads - including speaker leads Press the active/passive button to see if that helps Different cab or amp incase its the cab Have you changed the battery in your bass if its active?

Great the issue is still there thanks TE.....I worked out the problem after 2 minutes of playing, basically if the second led is lit on the gain it distorts and crackles and this snycs exactly in time with the second led going out. As it crackles the led flickers on and off then as soon as either the led below or above it comes on it stops. So 3 weeks my amps been away and it takes me all of 2 minutes to find the probable answer. Makes me wonder how long TE looked at it for.....

Update - amp recieved back today and the repair note says they looked over everything and replaced a pre-amp valve so looks like that was the cause! Still yet to test it and will post later once I have!

I used to play this a fair bit and is nice to play, my only problem was remembering it all as I would be ok until roughly just after the drums come in.

Amp wise I'm sorted. Bass wise I'm gassing bad for a 2band eq Stingray with a maple neck especially after playing on one the other day that played and sounded beautifully, unfortunately there's that small issue of having the £££

Just shows how ignorant people are towards music - Peoples brains just get filled with the sh*t from X factor and Britains got talent and just think the people who 'sing' on the shows are everything and filled with talent. I think it's pretty disgusting that Macca isn't known considering what he has accomplished as a musician. Ok you may not like him but at least know who the f*** he is!

Yea basically, as the finish gets hot it starts to bubble and crack then the scraper takes it off What I had to be careful about was not to burn the wood!
