Good choice of Fender logo - I'm not a fan of the Spaghetti one

Yea go on then! My brother has a Highway One strat as well which he loves. I was gutted to hear that they have been discontinued though. Mine plays and sounds so much better than my USA standard

Bump someone's got to be interested.....

I did a search and I couldn't find a dedicated thread for the Highway series, lets get all the pics and say a bit about your Highway!
Mine is a 2010 precision which I love! I got her in March 2011 from dv247 online so took a gamble but it was worth it!. I love everything about this bass especially the finish! I love seeing worn basses that show they have been used! So mine has got a few dents along the bottom side from gigging and some belt rash on the back which are the most noticeable. There are a few little chips near the straplock next to the bridge where my wireless pack rubs against the body. Where my arm/wrist rubs against the body has shined up so the finish will probably start wearing down soon. Also around the pickups are a lot of pick marks but you can't really make them out as my pics are a bit sh*t
This is my main bass as I love playing with this bass and couldn't fault it! Got her strung with some d'addario chrome flats which makes the playability even better!
The only upgrades/changes I have made have been :
3 ply B/W/B fender scratchplate
Schaller Straplocks

New price bump

Still available bump......

The seafoam green jazz looks good!

I've got them in my project bass which was originally a Squire now its 3 quarters Fender. The pickups were a good upgrade from the stock squire pickups and I would agree that they are good. I have experience with the quarter pounders and I think I prefer the SPB2s.

Get some pics!

Excellent! Got any pics of it? How does it sound?

Unfortunately the bc'er had to pull out so the amp is back for sale!

Thanks! Yea I'm really pleased with how it's turned out and it plays really nicely as well. I've set it up for pretty low action so it's great for finger-style which I need to practice more at as I am a pick man!

I use a Shuttle 9 into my Super 12 and it is beautiful!
Although I don't have the tweeter in my cab as I didn't see that I needed it - plus it is cheaper without. -
Here we go :

I found the pickup to be really good, much better than the stock one in my USA standard precision. I haven't played on a 51 so I don't know how similar the body's are in terms of contour etc. The bridge is a badass 2 which again imo is better than most stock Fender MIM and USA. It is just a nice solid bass, something that feels like its quality and wouldn't break from just looking at it lol.

Is looking good, have you taken this out of another amp or put bits and pieces together? Either way it looks good. How did you get the depth to work in terms of selecting the frequency?

Thanks for the link!
I'll get a better pic tomorrow! -

I agree it looks better. I am now in the hunt for one. Is that from a 51r or was it specially made for the MD bass?

I think it may of been for a 51 but this was about 5 years ago, I got it on eBay and I think it was actually listed as a Dirnt scratchplate - I just assumed it was from a 51 but I could be wrong...
Just googled and didn't see any obvious options so check out eBay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/B-W-B-pickguard-fits-Mike-Dirnt-Signature-Fender-P-bass-/250977885691 just found that? Although postage is a tad high...

That's alright! I didn't think it did, I actually think it made the bass look ten times better than the white one!

That really is an excellent transformation.
You've inspired me to try my first build.
