I used to use a Trace Elliot 1x15 and 2x10 and it was fantastic. Together they weighed around 50kg.
I now use a Barefaced Compact and it is also fantastic - seems to cover the same tonal range as the old rig all by itself. It weighs around 12kg I think?
I have been looking at the Barefaced website and the cabs do look good - especially the weight, althought quite a bit of ££
Would a compact and a super twelve be a good pair for ,my v6?
Realistically if I was to say get the compact, would using it with the TE15 be ok? I'm just thinking about ££
Thanks again -
Not on its own unfortunately at the moment, ill see what I can do

Hope it sells mate, that's a good £!

thanks for all the replies,
I've tried the 2 410s previously and my back was knackered from carrying them both hence getting the 15 - I actually prefer the sound from a 410 and 15 rather than 2 410s. Yes the cabs are the new TE so are easier to move around the 15 is really light and have no issue moving that around but the 410 is still heavy although lighter than the older versions. I don't think its really realistic at the moment to start the set up from scratch again as obviously that requires ££.
I run the cabs with the V6 so that can only run at 2 or 4 ohms, so thats why I have 2 8ohm cabs. I have previously had a 4ohm 410 and used that on its own for a while with the V6 but it never did anything for me so I sold it.
I dont have a lot of treble in my tone anyway so I dont think missing out on any possible high end loss would make that much of a difference.
I have actually got one of the old TE 210s, which is more portable than the 410, so would the 210 and 15 be a wiser option? What are peoples experience with this setup? It wouldn't be as tall but I have seen people saying a 210 and 15 matches well
I play in a loud 3 piece punk band
Thanks again -
Hi everyone,
I have done a bit of quick searching around this but couldn't find exactly what I'm after. I know there is a debate over not using 410 and 15 in the same setup etc but I am just wondering something......
I currently use a 410 and 15, now I love the sound from this thing but the 410 is a mission to move around - I have contemplated casters and sack trucks.
If I was to use two 15s (the 15 is the TE 1518c) what would the pros and cons of doing so be from not using a 410 in the setup? Would I loose much volume/tone or would it make things better?
I know for certain it would be way easier moving things around!
For those that don't know I use Trace Elliot, hence the name
Any ideas would be quality,
Thanks -
That looks good can't go wrong with a pbass, when are you getting it?

Nice one mate, look forward to the pictures

Another option you could do is try and find a Highway One (upgraded). In my own experiance : the Highway one is my main bass and I own a Mike Dirnt sig and an American Standard P. When I got the Dirnt I thought this was the best bass from fender I had played, then I got the american standard a few years later and thought nothing could beat this, I got my Highway One in July 2011 and it kicks both those basses put together.
Everything about the bass is amazing, neck feels comfortable and fretting notes is easy, its a nice weight, the body is comfortable, has the nitro finish which I love - picks up all the dents and sweat from gigging and will wear over time, badass 2 bridge which is great and the stock pickups in them sound beautiful.
Now this is obviously IMO others may have experienced differently.
Only issue is I believe the Highway Ones have been discontinued, I got the last one from DV247, but I'm sure there's some online shops that may have a few if not some second hand ones.
Hope that has been some help! -

Oh joy! Oh happy day! I've been reading these cab-stacking threads since I got here in 2008 and I'm pretty sure this is the first new 'point of reference' I've seen.
It is veritably a clash of BC icons. Norm vs The Cab-Stack.
Laydees 'n' gemmun, round of applause for Mr TraceElliotBass!

Thanks -
I put my 15 underneth the 4x10 but when I leant my ah600-12 and cabs to Norman Watt Roy in May 2011 he put the 15 on top, and he loved it. Here's a pic

This has been sold to a mate outside of the forums, thanks for looking!

Hi everyone,
I am selling my first Trace Elliot amp head and cab.
The amp head is an AH300-7(300 watts at 4ohm) and the cab is a 4x10 1048h 300watts.
The amp head :
Front: passive/active inputs,gain, trace elliot pre-shape button, 7-band eq, compressor,effects send and return,xlr di,master volume,jack line out
Back: 2 speaker outs(jack) power switch and plug
The Cab:
The cab has, as Trace say, a high frequency horn, jack and xlr inputs and jack and xlr links and horn control
Both are in excellent condition, they have been used for gigs but despite this show hardly any wear. Both are in working order and sound brilliant. The reason I am selling them is that I don't use them any more and would like to know they are being used!
I would like £450 for the pair but am open for decent offers or if someone could temp me with some other Trace stuff I may be happy for a swap
Collection only on this I'm afraid as it is very heavy or I don't mind meeting someone - Item is currently in Buckinghamshire
Thanks!

I would love to have the 2x15 but sadly don't have the ££

My Trace Elliot stack:
V6
1048h + 1518c
Love the sound I get from this setup, I've had the V6 around 5 years but it was sat around for ages in a cupboard as the valves went about 4 years ago and I couldn't afford to get it sorted but have recently got her back up and running and I have got the best tone I have ever had! -
Quality thanks, im going to head to my local wickes and have a look and see if they have anything decent!
-
Thanks a lot for all the replys. If I was to head down the caster route would it be a case of drill a few holes and screw them in - obviously making sure everything is lined up.
The sack trolley seems the 'easiest' in terms of not having to drill anything and same with the dolly board although at the moment the board seems to be the most ££
I think the trolley and straps seem the best option -
Hello everyone,
I have a Trace Elliot 4x10 and Trace 1x15, the question I have have is that I want to make things easier me to move it from the car to the venues so like pushing it all in one rather than lifting them seperatly. So would just adding casters to the bottom of one of the cabs then put the other cab on top and move it along to transport be simple to do? If so has anyone got any decent casters they can point me towards.
I have seen on google people appearing to the use the bottom half of a flight case to put it in so there is no drilling going on.
What are peoples opinions on this?
I love my rig and just want to see if I could make things easier for myself as especially the 4x10 is pretty heavy and then theres my V6.....
Any help would be quality!
