Re-listing this amp with a lower price. Costs around the £900 mark brand new and this amp is in mint condition and has been flightcased and only used as a backup head on tours - only been used once or twice. Great warm tone with a useful blendable overdrive circuit and tone shaping features and plenty of power on tap. This thing is LOUD! If mini sized bass heads aren't your thing this might be for you! For a list of the amps features have a look at http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/acatalog/Fender_TB-600_600_Watt_Bass_Amplifier_Head__224-5806-000___.html Comes with all the manuals and racksleeves etc Does not include the flight case but will include it in the sale for £60.
***THE BUYER OF THE BASS HAD TO PULL OUT OF THE SALE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPLETE A SALE ON ONE OF HIS BASSES SO THIS IS NOW UP FOR GRABS AGAIN*** I've just bought a decent double bass (for me anyway!) and I'm finding that I much prefer playing it to my electric upright. I'm more of an electric bass player than an upright player so it seems a little daft for me to keep both instruments at the moment. I initially bought it as it was easier on my hands to play than the double bass and it eased me back into upright bass playing without damaging myself in the process! I bought the bass back in 2007 from Promenade Music up in Morcambe I think. It's in mint condition as I have really looked after this bass using it in Jazz quartets and trios etc playing functions and weddings, restaurants. The bass comes with a gig bag and the Upgraded and very sturdy tri-pod stand that usually comes with the top of the range NS Design instruments as the original stands were absolute crap and broke very easily! I actually had to pay for this upgrade as they would only replace the original 'crap' stands that just broke! It's a great sounding bass and recently discovered how great it sounds bowed. I had a lot of compliments on the instrument both tonaly and on it's unique look when I played it. It has a sort of brushed off laquer effect on the back of the neck that is really nice to play especially when playing for long periods of time. The finish is Amber Burst and really looks classy. I need to get some better light to get some decent pictures of the bass so will get those up asap. Taking into account that the bass comes with the upgraded stand (I think they are about £170 new on thomann) and it's condition I would like £500 ono for it. Thanks
Completely fair play if he was being rude to you, but personally I'd find that request many orders of magnitude less irritating than the ones who rock up and just expect to borrow something to play through with no prior arrangement. Number of times I've had people half-ask / half-tell me that they intend to plug into my rig when they blatantly have nothing of their own with them (not even a DI box), usually without even so much as a nod or a thumbs-up as they walk off, is untrue. I'd feel much better about letting them plug in had they clearly brought a gig-worthy combo with them, but came up and said "...yours is much better and it's already on stage, and since all I need is basic clean, do you mind?".
Yeah I've had that problem before and my reply has been 'That's not my problem!'. If anything I feel like the person needs to learn a lesson and know it's not acceptable to just presume they can use somebody else gear. It just irritated me that he had something decent to play through that was fine for the gig. There was no need for him to use my gear. My rig was already up there but we had to carry it down a flight of stairs (a flightcased Orange 8x10 and AD200b head...) and would have to carry it back up. My band is a professional touring band and in these circles most times the agreed thing is that headliners don't share thier backline unless space is an issue and then if the band is cool a cab share is usually possible.

I love it when bass players from other band ask to use my rig at shows. If I know them then it's not a problem or if the band seem decent and there amp has died on them then I'll let them use my head as well as the 8x10. What really pissed me off is when somebody asks me to use my rig because it's better than theirs and louder. This happened to me in France this year, a guy turned up with a combo then asked me if he could use mine as it would sound a lot better than his. I laughed and said no and pointed out that I bought my rig for myself to use to sound good and that he had a combo which was adequate enough to be used live. If he wanted a bigger set up then he too could buy one. Not sure how much he understood and I felt a little bit of a dick but the guy was quite rude about it so I thought F**k off! I've also played other shows in france where I've let the band cab share and next thing I know see them taking my head off and putting theirs on instead without asking... tho it's happened in the UK too. I'm not anti-french!

I have a Rosseti Stradivarius Bass that I need to sell

I'm pretty sure the bass is a ply wood bass. I'll take some pics of it and see what people think... -
I have a Rosseti Stradivarius Bass that I need to sell
attackbass replied to attackbass's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I had a look through the F-hole and it is made in Czechoslovakia, can't remember the name of the factory - began with L... This was the bass from my school that they gave me when I left about 10 years ago. Think it was prob bought when the school opened in the 70s. I'll have to get some pics taken. I don't think it has any open seems or cracks just usual wear and tear of beeing put in a car and obvious being standing in store room for years! I just bought a thomann bass so need to shift this. I'm also considering selling a mint condition NS Design Wav electric upright tho I'm not hundred percent on this cos I know with my luck as soon as I sell some one will offer me a gig and ask for me to play it. -
I have the Rosseti bass mentioned in the topic title - I was wondering if it would have any value at all or any use to a beginner? The Bridge on it has warped and the Estring has snapped. The other strings are ok, I think they are Spirocores if I can remember correctly. Is this bass worth selling and for how much or should I just chop it up and burn on the bonfire?

Thanks for the replies. Just looked up the Shen basses and they are the best looking basses I've seen and he seems to know what he is doing. It's becoming more apparent to me that a bass needs to be well set up to optimise it's potential. Unfortunetly I don't have the budget to travel to Ireland for a Holiday... I haven't been on Holiday for 10 years and I don't include touring in that!! Do you think it'd be worth speaking to Tom Barret and would he be willing to ship a bass to the UK. I'd feel more comfortable buying from somewhere like that than say thomann where I've heard their set ups are very basic...

So, the piece of crap upright I had needs a new bridge and new strings and so thought instread of throwing money at this bass it'd be better to buy a decent bass. I've done some research and I've thought about getting something pretty decent that will see me through for a good few years.... I'd quite like a carved solid bass that isn't that 'schoo' orchestra' orange colour. As far as I can tell there isn't a great deal of choice for buying new or used in the UK - I'm quite happy to buy a secondhand instrument, infact that might be preferable. New I've found an Archer, the Zellar and the Stentor Student ii and Conservertoire(?) Are there any other brands out there I should look out for both new and used? Are the Thomann basses any good - they seem to be mostly laminated. Are there any obvious things I should look for when buying a used upright? I should also add that i'll be using the bass for mainly pizz jazz but will use a bow too. Any help/advice would be appreciated. I have a deep knowledge about electric bass but lost when it comes to these beasts! Thanks
