Sansamp Programmable bass driver DI - you all know what it does Cost about £190 new - been used on tour with bands Adequate Seven and Attack Attack which has seen it being used at many major venues and UK and European festivals including Reading and Leeds, Wasted etc and supporting bands like lostprophets, get cape wear cape fly, the automatic etc etc - it's got a little bit of history to it. Only selling it as I thought it had been pinched and ordered a new sansamp RPM - it turned up - another band had picked it up by mistake, but going to stick the rpm and so having to let this go. I'm jsut testing the water and leaving it open to offers to see if anyone will offer me a good price on it. I can supply photos of it if needed - its had some wear (some scratches), but works as good as the day i bought it. Comes with box and manual and battery.
I've ended up going with the Behringer MDX2600 Composer Pro XL after reading good reviews about it. I guess it can be hit and miss with compressors depending on what you're looking for. This is going to be my first one so I'll see how I get on
ooooh i just got one of these today to try out off a friend. Haven't had a chance to try it out - not a fan of behringer stuff but I thought I will give it a go and see if it works for me!!
I thought it ran off car batteries. I may be wrong!
I've got this amp and I have a battery in it... I got mine from Maplins! I'm not entirely sure what batery it is now - it was about a year ago I did it - but I can take it out and have a look. I've found you can get about 1 hour max out of the battery before it slowly dies on you...

I'm selling my high quality 2U rack tray which you can slide out to access whatever you have placed on it. I used to use it for a sansamp and a compressor but have decided to go back to the pedal board way of things. This has been in my rack case since I bought it about 10 months ago and is in very good condition. I'm looking for £20 for it plus a few quid for postage as it is a very high quality piece of rack gear.

I'm having a clear out of my cool but very rarely used effects. BOSS RC-2 Loop Pedal - £100 Bought this for £130 pounds last year and has been rarely used and is in 'as new condition'. Originally bought it as a teaching tool and for solo work but due to heavy band commitments It sits in a box on my work top. Comes with Box and all there manuals etc. MXR - Bass Octave - £60 Again this has rarely been used and has just been sitting idle on my pedal board. In good condition with box and manuals etc including the protective control things. These are now out of production and going for £120 on ebay. PM if you are interested in either of the above. thanks

Anyone have any clips for a TC Electronic Vintage Bass or a Roger Mayer Voodoo Bass? It would be good to know peoples opinions on these products too!

It's just more of a case of it being rackmountable, the mid frequency control as i find the mids can get very scooped out of the sound and the effects loop. I've had the pbddi for two years and its been battered from being in my flightcase. Ofcourse tho I want to know how its sounds to judge whether it's worth getting one now or continue using what i've got till it gives up the ghost. All i've heard is that that RPM has better gain and more control over the mid frequencies.. and doesnt have that terrible presence control - i hate that thing.
I take it you already have the BDDI/PBDDI ? This thread on talkbass might help you out, take it with a pinch of salt though. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.p...ght=RBI+SANSAMP Personally I would say you are not going to see a huge improvement... your money though mate
Does anyone have any soundclips of their RBI? Thinking about uprading to it from the stomp box design... I want to hear how it compares since hearingthe rpm soundclips too.
Actually, seeing your signal chain, why don't you set one of your Sansamp programs to compensate? You can use it as a clean boost, if you have all the settings at 12 o cclock.
I can't set the sansamp at 12 on all the controls because it's the sansamp which is getting part of my tone by driving the ampeg head. playing softly aint an option really... for this band it's rock and it's all about digging in.. if it was one of my other more pop/singersongwer session thing then I'd prob take you up on your advice Im tempted to just stick with a 4 string for a tour coming up for the entire set.. my singer spoke to me and basically said I was good enough a player to make the songs work on a four string. I do love my musicman 5 tho. I'll try easing off the active eq on the musicman next week in rehearsals and see what differance it makes.. I've tried recording into pro tools through all my gear and compared waveforms and the musicman is only sligtly louder. So maybe it's fine and im just paranoid. i might get hold of a booster off a mate and test it out.

The volume between the two isn't that different cos i have quarter pounders in the jazz.. its just the stingray has the active eq on it which makes it louder when u boost the bass or treble. I think i might just plug in and let the sound guy worry...

I have heard many good things about the sadowsky. does putting that many different eqs affect the tone in a bad way. eg it would be going through a ebs compressor, sadowsky pre then a sansamp then my ampeg svt 3 pro. Would that make the tone diluted or weak? I've heard they tighten up the tone of your bass and make it cut through more. I actually this evening compared both basses recording through my ebs, sansamp into pro tools. There wasn't a great differance in level but musicmans wave were more blocky and fuller to look at on the screen and the fender passive bass waves seemed to tapper off. Someone has also suggested an ART PM tube preamp. Any good?

Hi, I'm trying to find a way to boost my fender jazz 75 reissue bass so that it matches my active stingray in live situations. My current rig EBS Multicomp>redonionsolutions loop and tuner mute with EHX BASS SYNTH> Sansamp Pbddi> Ampeg SVT 3 Pro > 4X10 and 1X15 Ampeg Cabs I have looked at the Sadowsky and Aguilar box preamps which have volume treble and bass controls- which seem to make the passive bass more 'active'. Would just a boost pedal do the Job? Or does it a matter of eq as well? Would it sound ok running a preamp for a passive bass infron of the sansamp pre amp and ampeg head? I know the Aguilar is basically an outboard version of the preamps they put in basses.. I would prob run the preamp in a loop so then i could switch the loop off when going to the stringray.. Anyone got any suggestions. The more cost affective achieving the best tone possible would be appreciated!! Cheers

Amazing electric hollow body bass. Only selling it as it no longer gets played enough due to now owning a musicman and fender. Here's the link below if you're interested..
