Nice one! I had an LH500 for a while....so loud and clean.

Definitely! I've found I like to run very very hot alpher into the passive input, just seems to give it a little more edge. The new cabs are great too, the sound seems so immediate, very punchy!

How does the LH compare to the old HA heads?

It's been decades since I played through a HA series amp that I couldn't really fairly compare them. I would love to get the HA3500 at some point though. The HA4000 i had was completely solid state, and I remember it had a huge amount of low end but was very clinical sounding where as the LH1000 is a very warm amp that let's the sound of the bass really come through. After having used the amp for a few shows now, I've found the way I've used the EQ is to simply enhance the sound subtley rather than trying to really shape the sound, if that makes sense?

  3. A bit of advice to anyone with lightweight cabs. Even if they are light, don't jump out of a van with them!

I did and I suspect I have now a few bruised ribs from the impact of the cab hitting into my chest!!

  4. Sadly selling my very reliable and great sounding EBS rig after recently getting an endorsement deal with Hartke a few months ago. Was thinking of keeping the rig but two bass rigs in a house is too much!

So for sale is the following:

    EBS Reidmar 502 bass amp

EBS Neo 2x12 4ohm Bass cab

Both the amp and the cab have been very well looked after and so in excellent, fully working condition. The Reidmar comes with a peli type case with pick and pluck foam which has done a great job of protecting it, could maybe do with having some new foam after 4 years!

The cabinet is a 4ohm cab so combined with the Reidmar 502 the rig is incredible loud and never feels pushed or at its limit. You get that classic clear, punchy EBS sound in a lightweight, manageable rig and if you're completely mad you can add a second 4ohm cab due to the Reidmar 502 going down to 2ohms.

I have the original box for the Reidmar too somewhere if required.

Not looking to split the rig and would need to be a collected due to size from South Wales..

Not looking to trade either unless you own a 5 string Doug Wimbish spector, which I'm pretty sure doesn't exist!!

Will post photos as soon as I get a moment, just wanted to get the listing up!

Thanks for looking and any questions please feel free to ask!

But he's using the dreadful 4x10 and 1x15 pairing. It shouldn't be allowed! In an actual on stage use the 15 is greatly left behind by the more able 4x10 and eventually fails.

BTW Thank you for taking the time and effort to post that link. :)

It's not my favourite set up but it works for Victor live! The LH1000 actually has a balance control so you can send more output to either cab.

Only the top 4x10 was plugged in, in that photo as it was deafening! Me and the keys player do not like bass through monitors so we just blast the amp!

    Love these amps!

  6. Cool, you should try and demo the new gear. Hopefully it would change your opinion.

There is a great video with Victor Wooten playing through a mic'd up rig similar to mine and it sounds incredible. It's a sweetwater video about looping or something.

  7. Thanks man! The HA4000 was a great amp, I had no idea how to use it properly at that age though!!

I've gone back to the gear of my youth, hartke amps and finding I just love playing my Warwick 5 string with emgs recently!!

I think its important to play instruments and gear you enjoy!

  8. So, earlier this year I found myself in a position where I was offered an exclusive artist endorsement contract with Hartke Systems. I had recently played through a Hartke rig at a festival and was really impressed with the tone.

Obviously, being a fan of the amps I bit their hand off and a couple of weeks ago my rig of choice turned up at the doorstep. I opted for the LH1000 and the new HL410 and couldn't be more happier with the new setup.

I absolutely love the tone I'm getting, the LH1000s simplicity and warmth combines perfectly with the clarity and punch of the HL410. The hybrid speaker cones give me the perfect amount of high end that I've never experienced with other cabs. They had their first outing last weekend at Lattitude and Leopalloza Festival and filled the stage with glorious low end!

I apologise if posts about equipment from companies you endorse aren't allowed but I'm just so pleased and my mind is blown I'm getting this support from the company.

  9. Ended up seeing one band at Glastonbury, which was Kelis and was great! Caught the first few songs of lizzo and it sounded great and also the lottery winners who I enjoyed watching a few songs, very entertaining.

Somebody asked why the singers sound a bit ropey in the bands. Most likely doing multiple shows a day, it's a nightmare getting around the site to each show and sleeping in a tent and getting little sleep. I took it easy and the earliest I got to sleep was 2:30 and eas up by 6!

I did 7 performed across 4 days and last nights 11:30 set was a struggle as was this mornings set and I'm a bass player!! 🤣  a highlight was standing a few yards of Paul McCartney as we watched the sun set from the Glastonbury sign!!

  11. The next instalment in my pedal clearout in the spirit of getting rid of stuff i dont use on a daily basis... my EBS Billy Sheehan Ultimate Signature Overdrive, including the special splitter cable for the effects loop and I'm pretty sure I have the box somewhere I just need to dig it out!

An amazing and versatile pedal that I've had a lot of good use out of but through sheer laziness I haven't used for months as I can never be bothered to take my pedalboard to gigs or sessions!

Pedal is in very good condition, a couple of small nicks in the paint you can see in the photo but in full working order!

    Now £140 delivered

  12. Selling this great little booster pedal. Amazing build quality and in great condition!

Used this as an always on tone shaper, Found it added a nice sparkle to my tone and also felt great to play through, almost like very slight compression. Also great for putting infront of valve amps or drive pedals to just dial in that perfect amount of breakup!

    Some velcro on thr bottom.

I haven't got the box... it was just a generic white box but will make sure its safely packaged up.

  13. I "scoop" mids and have no problem with cutting through. I guess I know at what frequency and by how much to reduce the mid frequencies to not obliterate my tone.

I am finding I'm doing it less though it has to be said...though i haven't found to be boosting them either.

I think its instrument dependent tbh, I find with my p bass if I don't notch out some 400hz then there is just too much midrange, no articulation etc!

There are also those difficult rooms and stages where you just do whatever you can to be able to clearly hear yourself!

  14. Yeah, I was extremely lucky. Somebody had actually got in touch with status before me but the emails from status were going to his spam folder, so thinking he wasn't interested in the neck they emailed me back and offered it to me. The guy was apparently not happy as you can imagine!

I don't mind the scratchplate but definitely prefer it without.

So happy with this bass! Every note is clear and even and is very responsive to my technique. People tend to believe that graphite makes the tone really bright but this isn't the case, for me anyway. Its no brighter than a normal stingray but there is definitely more clarity to every note.

The east preamp is amazing too, that midrange circuit is very powerful.
