  1. Good thanks for asking.

I'm quite upbeat and happy, strange really? I'm moving forward with the physio, although it is painfully slow. Someone on here said ..'softly, softly catchee monkey ' which seemed strange at the time but it sums it up!

The only thing I've got emotional about is playing the bass. Flying not so much, which is surprising, but I have thirty years of memories to refer to? I'm going to play the bass though ,its just a long road. My right hand is very slow to recover but it looks positive, I am currently looking at different types of plectrum, as I suggested earlier I might film my progress, but it will be over months and years!

Your welcome to come and try the Streamliner, but its probably a bit far away. I have the Berg ER stack. I think the GK would be great too, I have Gas for one! A good sign I reckon!!!

    Kind Regards
    Steve

  2. Thanks for the good wishes , some really good ideas so far.

As for videoing the results, i dont think now would be a good time to start as I can barely play a note! .....but as soon as i feel i have anything useful it would be a good idea. Making videos of my recovery has been very useful over time because it seems veryyyyy slow bit by bit but seen over time you really see the the difference.

Thanks kindly for the offer but it seems a load of hassle to post a plectrum,I assume i can get them online somewhere?

  3. I was unfortunate enough to have a stroke just over five months ago and unfortunately my right hand is never likely to recover to its former 'glory' . I can grip but cannot release , but my wrist is slowly showing signs of life !

This morning i once again tried frustratingly to play the bass and i think with some help and a bit of lateral thinking I will be able to ( after a few months of practse) be able to play along to simple tunes!!!
I can just grip a plectrum and if i can devise some way of holding the other fingers out of the way we'll be in business!

Can you recommend some one note or basically really simple bass lines to practise to? (Bearing in mind I 'm 51 and while i like metal etc keep in mind slow is probably better!!!)

While I'm here i want to mention my friend Joe Philpotts (Fingerz) who has been very kind and who's bass playing ability just blows me away.

  4. Picked up a Streamliner900 from Mark today.

I was nervous about selling my lovely classy Glockenklang preamp but after playing the Streamliner this afternoon it sounds fantastic. Much less HiFi than the pre and more my basic preferred fat tone. My P sounds brilliant and it can produce lots of different tones using my Skjold.

    Berg 112ER stack. Lovely sounds.

  5. Powersoft .DIGAM 2004. Lovely 1u poweramp pure class.

The Glockenklang BAC pre is well known and much respected - paired with the fantastic Powersoft poweramp they offer superb Flexiblity/Power and Tone.SOLD

The Powersoft I took in a part trade with HappyJack last year, it is Dood's old amp.
Weight around 8kgs puts out 1000W per side into 4 ohms or can be bridged 2000w into 8ohms.

    £475.00

I would consider part/trades for Small amps or any 112/410/212 cabs

I am flexible meeting up by car.
    I'm near Milton Keynes.

  6. Taken as a part trade last year from a fellow basschatter who owned them from new in the early nineties.

He removed the badges and sprayed the grills white. Vinyl finish all in VGC for the age.

Great rock cabs but I have a pair of Bergs and can't see these ever being used.

£165.00 for both collected in Newport Pagnell
