    Just a little background....this is my band - King Rocker. We're one of those "classic rock cover bands" that polarises opinions on this here forum. Our USP is that we have a bona fide Elvis impersonator on vocals - King Rocker, geddit? So if you've ever wondered what "Back In Black", "Mr Brownstone" and a heap of other youth club classics would sound like, if sung by Mr E.A.Presley (deceased), then we are the band for you. This was one of our Christmas tunes - the other being "Merry Christmas Everybody", natch. We did the basic track in the rehearsal room and the Guitarists did all manner of clever stuff on Cubase.     I'm fortunate enough to have a bunch of Basses to pick from, so I'll always take two. In the gig box is a Behringer BDI21 in case of amp failure. Also in the gig box, spare leads, strings, mics, mini toolkit, gaffa tape, extension leads, tuners and two mini Hercules stands. Over the last few years I've used every item. Except the spare bass and the Behringer BDI21.

    As a diehard REM fan (OK, sue me...) I've seen Stipe use a music stand dozens of times. Does it bother me? No. Does it make me think any less of him or the band? No. I'd much rather see a band use stands and get it right than fudge lyrics and chord changes. If you're slavishly staring at the music stand, then you may need to have a rethink, but there are far worse crimes that covers bands commit than using stands on stage.

    Gaffa tape is your friend - it comes in some pretty "distinctive" shades as well as black/silver. A few winds at both ends of the cable, by the plugs and the jobs a good 'un... http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/coloured-duct-tape

    Hi all, Here's a great condition Behringer V Amp Guitar Multi-FX. Boxed with PSU and all the gubbins. Loads of useable noises and easy to tweak on the fly. £35 posted or a bit cheaper if you can pick it up from Halesowen in the West Mids Ta!

    SOLD PENDING THE USUAL Hi all, Here we have a handy little recording dealio from Line 6. You can plug your Guitar/Bass/whatever into it or use the inbuilt mic. I've used it for recording rehearsals and gigs and got good results. It charges via USB, so no need for mains, batteries blahblah. All the instuctions and software are in the device's storage, but I've printed off the basics to get you started. Comes boxed with a USB. Stick it in your gig bag and you're ready to go! The only negative point is that the symbols above the sliders have worn off, but a bit of masking tape and a sharpie and Bob's yer uncle. £38 posted or a bit cheaper if you can pick it up from Halesowen.

    Jellyfish were brilliant. Great tunes, amazing harmonies (which they could pull off with aplomb live) and great players, too. I saw them a few times back in the day and was blown away every time. Omnivore are doing a fantastic job with the back catalogue of some of my favourite bands including The Posies and Game Theory. Well worth checking out.

    Schaller on hold Conan, the tuners came from a P bass so I'm not sure if they'd fit a J...the interior diameter of the bushings is 15mm (approx). And unlike me, they are "waisted"...

    I "de-actived" my Fender Cowpoke, scored a wiring kit from Kiogon and plumbed in a pickup selecter switch. That combination with a PJ PBXN set has given my old Mexi-Fender the tones I've been after for years. I cannot believe how good they are. "Classic" tones for pocket money prices.
