1.
This doesn't sound too bad to me
Luscious. The little root/fifth/octave dealio at 1.44 ish is worth the price of admission alone.
2.
And just remember... A silent audience is okay... as long as they're not moving towards you...
Amen to that. We played a Biker gig in West Brom on Saturday. Decent sized crowd, nice room...all the good stuff. We did two sets - 32 songs. I'd estimate that there was silence between the first 20, polite applause for the next 6 and the remainder were cheered as if we were The Who. This may have had something to do with Beer. At the end of the night there was a queue of people wanting to say hi, shake hands and tell us how we rocked. This was all very lovely, but a little indication whilst we were actually rocking would have been nice! Still...nice folks (if a little quiet) and we're going back in June. And at least now I know what to expect! Oh yeah...BassBaton anyone?
3.
I think the only thing I can say in regards to this gig Ian...is good luck, whether it be the natives, the pub or a toilet related incident...good luck :-p
Cheers. Will drawn up. Credit card maxed out. Parting 'gift' for the boss ...I'm ready for Heather.
4.
Nah, Heather is fine. ...just make sure you go to the toilets in pairs...
Great advice..."Hey guys, I'm just off to the loo - anybody want to join me?" I'll take my chances with the natives, ta!
5. But seriously. Last bump before Ebay.
6. Mummy I'm scared. Heather sounds frightening. I might just put the BassBaton in a taxi and rock gently back and forth in my 'special room' until Sunday.
7. Gah! Where's the make up department when you need it?
8. Hey all, If your in or around Heather on saturday, check us out - we're a Paul Rodgers/Free/Bad Co trib. It's also your chance to grab the Bass Baton - lemme know if you fancy it. The Crown, 23 Main Street, Heather LE67 2QP 9.00pm
9. Welcome Keefyboy! I love Brandoni instruments - this looks like a great example. Have a bump for a cool lookin' bass
10. The Bass remains in the Wild West Midlands then... Anyone gonna pick this beastie up? It got an outing in sunny West Bromwich last night and is probably on the way to The Crown Inn, 23 Main St, Heather, Leicestershire, E67 2QP, next Saturday. PLEASE let me know if you are gonna pick it up there as I'm hoping to travel light next week and if no one throws their hat in the ring, it'll stay at home. C'mon people, this thing needs to get moving!
11. That's rather yummy.
Far too radical for Fender to seriously consider putting into production - after all, they've got a (conservative) reputation to keep..
...can I be the first to say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it...?"
12. Nice work fella. The headstock pre your hard work looks dee-sgusting!
13. Hi all Quick plug for my gig and your chance to grab the Bass baton... The Bass Baton will be at The New Talbot in West Bromwich on Saturday March 9th - my band are called Heartbreaker and we're a Paul Rodgers tribute, so if you like Classic Rawk, come on over. It would be lovely (and slightly intimidating for a Bassist...) to see a few of you there. Rushbo Here's a lovely poster with some more details... 14. The BassChat Baton meets his Black Country Buddies.... Anyone stepping forward to pick it up on Saturday...?
15. Right then. Since 1986... Jangly Pop a la REM Chicago Blues Hair Metal Muso Pop (It Bites, that sort of thing) Pre Madchester baggy Indie Avant Garde (Can/Faust) Electronica Psychedelic Folk Rock Rock Acoustic Duo Heinz 57 covers/functions band Blues (again) Americana Pop Rock (a la Crowded House) Country Folk Classic Rock tribute It's good to have a broad palette.
16. "My other Guitar is a Bass" "Bassists do it lower" "Guitarists are failed Bassists" "Honk if you can spell Pastorius"
17. This is good. Seems even handed and very fair. Now, if only BassChat were to make some stickers.....

20. Erm....I'm pretty sure its Saturday the 9th, unless I'm very mistaken...which I am a lot of the time. If Yoricks real name is Nigel, then he's da man.I remember that their outgoing Bassist placed the ad on here, which I thought was rather sweet.
21. Heyhey...my gig is in sunny West Bromwich on Saturday, March 9.Its with Heartbreaker, who are a Paul Rodgers tribute, so if classic rawk is yer thing, come on over. We're playing at The New Talbot. It would be lovely to see a Basschatter or two there. Rest assured, ill be spamming the site mercilessly between now and the gig...
22. Well here's my pre-decimal tuppenceworth: I went on Saturday and had a great time. From comments on previous events, I was expecting it to sound like an explosion in a spoon factory, but it wasn't bad at all. Far worse was the rumbling from the TC Electronics stand which made my fillings vibrate on a number of occasions. You need to bear in mind that I am a Music Teacher and routinely spend time in a class full of students all banging away on whatever they can get their hands on, so maybe I'm just desensitised. The masterclasses and shows were ace. I enjoyed Dave Ellefson's way more than I thought I would. The thought of him playing on a Sunday morning at his local church is an image which will sustain me for days. Jah Wobble was great even though his Bass sounded a bit farty every time he played an 'A'... Lee Rocker err, 'Rocked'. I missed Nate Watts due to lack of foresight on the transport front and had to get a train back to Brum. Please tell me he was terrible... I came away with The Baton - the hard case came in useful when I had to fight my way onto the 17.50 to Watford Junction. For a small fee or donation to BassChat, I will corroborate any stories along the lines of 'No Darling, THIS is that Bass which is going around the country and I haven't spent the children’s trust fund/mortgage/wedding and honeymoon savings on another Bass'. Yes, I am a prince. Well worth the trip and it was lovely to see BassChat in person (sort of).
