  1. I'm not sure about this one, I might still change my mind, it's one of the best basses I've ever owned, but (very big but) it is really heavy. According to my cheap luggage scales it's 4.9Kg. I bought it here around 10 years ago, I used it for wedding gigs until my back hurt too much, sold it to a friend then bought it back again because it's so nice - I sort of forgot about the weight issue. It has a John East J retro fitted (John kindly provided a matching switch for the coil split too, so it looks very neat). My friend kept the original Glockenlang preamp for another bass when I bought it back, but I didn't like the eq on it anyway. My friend managed to dig a big thumb hole by the bridge pickup in the short time he had it, and it has a few dings on the headstock, picked up at gigs over the years (see pics). Apart from that it's in good condition. The only reason to let this go would be to get something more useful for me, short scale 5 (wilcock), or a hollow body (Warwick or Ibanez?) or a Genzler Kinetix. If you have a strong back, or like heavy instruments, this might be among the best basses around. PS the photos were taken on a really sunny day, it usually doesn't look so red, it's normally closer to brown, but the matt sunburst changes depending on the light - I love it. Edit to say, I have the original Sandberg gig bag (practically unused) I'd prefer collection in Edinburgh, or meet within reasonable distance, particularly given the weight...

  2. I bought this bass off @jrixn1 just over 2 years ago I believe, I've loved having it, but it just doesn't get the use it should, I prefer 5s so though a P5 would be nice to have, but turns out, I still prefer 4 strings precisions. I think this is the price I bought it for, and it hasn't really changed since then, but I'm open to sensible offers. Currently strung with LaBella flats, but I can put rounds on if you prefer. Body: chambered alder with flamed maple top and back Neck: 21-fret (plus zero fret) hard rock flamed maple with rosewood fingerboard, blocks, and vintage white binding Scale length: 34" Headstock: originally matching, it was subsequently refinished by JP Guitars, Bristol. Nut width: 45mm Tuners: Hipshot USA Ultralites Pickups: Delano PC 5 AL/M2 (neck) and JC 5 AL (bridge) Controls: Volume, volume, tone; push-pull on the tone for both pickups in series. Bridge: Gotoh 205B-5, 18m spacing Weight: 3.585kg, and perfectly balanced - a real pleasure to play. Some info from the previous owner that I would not have noticed or known about if it wasn't pointed out -> It also arrived with stripped neck screws; these have been replaced. Truss rod works correctly in both directions. N.B. Maruszczyk truss rods are clockwise to loosen and anti-clockwise to tighten (i.e. against convention). There are a couple of small marks on the body, one of which has been painted over (see photos). I'd prefer collection in Edinburgh, or delivery/meet up within a reasonable distance, but I can sort postage at buyers expense if necessary. Cash would be ideal, but, I really want a Genzler Kinetix so happy to trade. I'm also after a short scale, and a Fender Coronado. For some reason I can't upload any more photos, I'll try again later (and include a post it note with date, but if anyone wants photos before that, let me know and I'll send them over)
  3. I'm thinning the herd to focus on getting a few things I'm after. I like this bass, a lot, but since getting a USA Musicman Sub This just hasn't been out at all. There are some signs of wear, particularly at the headstock (see pictures), but it palys and sounds as it should. The original machine heads were rubbish so I put some Schallers on it. I'm ideally looking for pick up or delivery, I'm in Edinburgh, but happy to meet within reasonable distance. I have gig bags (lots of them) and I can fashion a box if needs be, but postage would need to be paid by the buyer. Still, I'd prefer you try it first... Cash is king, but, a short scale Fender looking thing, or a Coronado might persuade me. Just noticed the new proof of ownership thing, I'll get a pic with a post it note later today - I just took the photos yesterday, just because it wasn't raining in Edinburgh.

  4. Yes, but that wouldn't include postage.
  5. I'm driving to Ireland (co Meath) from Edinburgh tomorrow if any Irish folk are interested. I only have room for one cab.
  6. If someone buys one of my cabs I will buy this, unless you fancy a trade for a Genzler 112?
  7. Oh wow. That's lovely, I have one so similar but with 5 strings, also in Edinburgh! Really great basses, that's a steal at that price.
  8. I love it, sounds warm and lovely, but still enough top end when I dig in. It's not FRFR at all, but I love the colour of it.
  9. Second gig with the GSS Baby Sumo into Barefaced Two10 with the Noble preamp at the front. Really chuffed with the sound of it. The engineer just mic'd it up too, so he likes it.
  10. I hadn't noticed that!
  11. It's finished, again. Still not totally happy with the envelope filter, but it's the best small one I've found. I'd like a noise gate, but there's no room...
  12. I'm not in a rush to sell, but at the same time, these are just sitting around not getting used. Any sensible offers (for swaps or sale) will be considered.
  13. KK Baby Bass, a copy/homage/update to the Ampeg. They were made by a UK based I guy, but last I heard he has stopped production. It's a shame as they are great instruments.
  14. Noted and deleted.
  15. I did a search for duty and DV247, the content seemed relevant, so rather than starting a new post I decided to ask here. Sorry if that was the wrong thing to do.
  16. Changed my mind about this post based on feedback from others. Was not slandering anyone, just looking for advice...
  17. Price drop. Now £130 Managed to find an Anadime chorus, so need rid of this quick. £100 This is a great pedal, but I tried a Providence ABC-1 Anadime and I can't get it out of my head. It's still on my pedal board, but I'll take it off at the weekend for better pics. It's got velcro on the base, and a little sticker residue on the top, I'll clean it before sellig it. I have the box, psu and cable to connect it to the phone app. I don't have a manual, not sure if it came with one, but it's available online in any case. Straight swap with an Anadime would be great, otherwise cash is king. Add £8 for postage.
  18. This is a great pedal, and has been used a lot in the time I've had it (around 8 months), but I managed to get a 3Leaf Doom, and that's enough Fuzz for me. I have the box, manual and other stuff it comes with, but not the stickers, my son stole them. There is velcro on the base. It's a great pedal, but realistically, I'm not gonna use it again, or not enough to justify keeping it. Ideally looking to sell, but open to trade offers. I really want a small noise gate, and a Barefaced Two10 (money your way too, obviously). Happy to post at buyers expense, probably around £8.
  19. Cabs now £400 each or swap for a mustang, ebo, hofner, thunderbird or some other interesting hollow body and or short scale. I've changed my setup a lot recently, I've gone from using a (mic'd up) Genzler rig with a Radial DI, to just using a Noble preamp with IEMs. I carry a small Markbass 2x8 combo for a bit of stage sound, but I never hear it anyway. I still have a big EBS rig (that's never used), so I'm reluctant to keep the Genzler too, although I'll definitely keep the Magellan, for now. I have 2 Genzler 12-3 slants. I'll definitely sell one, although I will sell 2 if I can get my hands on a Barefaced two10. That's £450 each, to avoid confusion. I have the Genzler dust covers, but no boxes, so collection or meetup would be preferred, though I'm sure I can find a box if needed. The cabs are in my lockup just now, but I can get pics if needed, in the mean time here's some action shots from gigs....
  20. My first pedalboard was full of huge pedals, a big muff, QTron, Ashdown compressor. Particularly in the case of that compressor, bigger is not always better. 😄
  21. GAS has taken over so I need to get rid of stuff I don't use. Add £8 for UK postage. I'm not after trades, unless it's a 3 Leaf Doom. Open to realistic offers, particularly if picked up in Edinburgh. **sold** Source Audio spectrum £120 *SOLD* Zvex Wooly Mammoth fuzz £100 ** sold ** Darkglass DFZ. £70 ** Sold ** Aguilar Octamizer £90 **sold** Analogue Music Company SHSL £120 Genzler re/Q £100 This is cheaper than I've seen, sometimes the eq footswitch takes a couple of presses. It could just need a clean, but might need a new footswitch. Works perfectly apart from the switch being temperamental. Used a lot, but mostly the filter section, and the Broughton hp/lp pedal takes up less room. Velcro, original box. Darkglass B3K £100 I've had this for years, bought new and used continuously until very recently. No box or manual, velcro on base. EBS Wah 1 £80 Bought here, but not used much since. It's just too big for my board. Works perfectly and looks good. The active passive button works, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to look like that or if there's a cover missing. Velcro on base, but feet back on too. No box or manual. ** Sold **MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe £80 ** sold ** last one is the weirdest. Anasounds Utopia £80
  22. I tried to make it a good deal, going rate is about £350, I think. That said, the LEDs not working isn't ideal, doesn't make any difference to usability and it's pretty common, but does make it less desirable.
  23. There is a bass that I NEED to buy, so trying to raise some cash quickly. This has been my backup amp for ages, so it hasn't seen much use recently. I had it serviced at Axe Management guitars in Edinburgh a few months back, so it's working well, but the blue LEDs in the little glass window at the front don't work. All the important LEDs do work. The original carry bag is in decent condition. I've resisted selling this as I love the sound, but I use my Magellan 800 all the time now and it is more versatile. Not sure how much postage will be, but happy to arrange something in the uk. Not looking for trades, but could be tempted by a 3 Leaf Doom. Open to offers, particularly if it's collected in person in Edinburgh.
  24. I bought this Fralin p bass split coil pickup here at some point. The intention was to put it in my '72 while I was having the original pickup rewound, I never got around to it, now the original pickup is back in and the Fralin is gathering dust. It looks like it's never been used, but I don't know for sure. The ends of the wires look totally untouched and the screws look unused. Sticker and usual stuff still in the box. Add £8 for recorded delivery in the UK. Not really looking for trades, I'm trying to raise cash quick for a bass I NEED in my life, so open to realistic offers.

  25. I mostly use active basses, but I'd only be using it for full in overdrive. Do you think the active basses would be too hot for it?
