Contact the seller, the term B-stock generally means ex-display, sometimes in their own shop sometimes by the manufacturer, or possibly it has been bought and returned by a previous customer. Chances are whenever the decision to make it B-stock was made it was given a once over and cleared for selling. They probably just missed the truss rod problems, they were most likely looking out for dings and electronic issues that are far more common. I'm sure if you contactvthem they will attempt to rectify the problem, if they don't then you have every right to return it for a refund. If they don't help you I would suggest it is probably worth naming and shaming to prevent others having the same problem, but give them a chance to fix it first, we all make mistakes, the important thing is how we deal with them.

I have a roadster, much cheaper but the same silhouette, it has the Ibanez heart shaped machine heads that look great. Lovely bass, by the way.

It's noticeably deeper than a modern Jazz, but really comfortable. It's my favourite Fender Jazz I've ever played, if only they did a 5 string. There's a Sunburst one in Red Dog Music in Edinburgh that has caught my eye, but I almost exclusively use 5 strings now. If you buy it online you have 2 weeks to try it and return it if it doesn't work out.

I had a Jazz with a P neck for years, it was the only neck I had at the time, but it worked really well for me. Tim Commerford from Rage Against The Machine used Jazz basses with P necks before moving to Laklands.

I really like plain(ish) basses, I love the look of a Stingray or a jazz, I'm really partial to Sunburst, and I think a nice piece of Ash is the best looking wood to make a bass out of. Electronics aside, making what I consider a nice bass is a pretty simple task. That said, I don't think that a Natural Ash Jazz is necessarily more playable, or better sounding than a flame maple topped through neck with a figured fingerboard. In fact working out how all the different woods for the top wings and through neck work together could make the bass a lot nicer sounding, and perhaps because it doesn't have a traditional shape it might be better balanced. There is a place for all kinds of builders, and everyone has different taste in looks and sound, but I definitely don't think one luthier is making more playable instrument just because they don't use exotic woods.

I like overdrive from time to time, but I found in a metal band with 2 guitarists filling the sound with distortion that a clean fat bass tone worked better for me. I would definitely recommend trying a nice drive or distortion pedal, but only use it if or when you feel it's appropriate.

I sold an EBS cab to Sveinn a few days ago, he's an easy guy to deal with, great communication and no problem arranging to meet up. I would be happy to deal with him again.

I would expect a reasonable discount to buy a bass without the original bag or case. I would just store the case, but then it's there if I sell it on.

Oiled necks.

Just having a look at the Rickenbacker porn thread, I think it should be renamed bass fetish pics for perverts

I'm not one for sweeping generalisations but the puns on this site are awful.

I think it's great they treat their staff well, and they demand is still very high. I still think if I went to a good British Luthier (ACG, Overwater etc) I could spec something very similar for a lot less money.

5 string Stingrays, I have one, I just wish it had the 4 string body. Fancy tops, coffee tables, Rickenbackers. All of the above can be improved with a Tort scratch plate, I would have a tort kitchen counter, and a tort dashboard in my car if I had a choice, but then I'd need a sunburst car and Olympic white kitchen cabinets.......
I don't think anyone really likes the beatles do they? We should have a thread about it
I heard Paul McCartney was the best bass player ever!? 😈

One of the best, love Neil Young.
I wonder if Leo tried the reversed position in early prototypes?
Strings and amplification were a lot different when he was designing the split-P pickup, so what worked for heavy flatwounds and a low powered amp might not be what works for round wounds with a punchy amp and a cab with a tweeter.
Id certainly be interested in trying a D-Bird. Also enjoyed the recent Sandberg Forty Eight. Nice take on a T Bird
The 48 looks great, if I was after a "rock" bass that's where I would start

Fender are also going up, and Roland, probably loads of others. It's not quite price fixing, but the price they charge the shops goes up, so the shops raise their prices to us.

I have an unhealthy hankering for a Maruszczyk Elwood L 5 string
EmmettC replied to Merton's topic in Bass Guitars
I NEED a 5 string precision in my life, I think I'll be getting in touch with Maruszczyk later in the year. It has to be 3 tone sunburst, rosewood and tort the perfect P, but with 17-18mm string spacing. -
What do you do when you've found The One?
EmmettC replied to Skinnyman's topic in General Discussion
Keep them if you can, I thought I'd found "the one" when I got my TM5, then after a few weeks of gigging I decided I didn't like the pre-amp, not a big problem, but now, a few months down the line, I've decided the humbuckers is in the wrong place, I still love it as a jazz bass, but I'm really glad I kept my stingray, because I couldn't do without that sound in my life. -
I have the 115, but I've tried the 112 a few times and if I was buying again I'd go for the 112. The 115 is great, but it's a bit boomy when you push it, the 112 sounded a lot clearer to my ears, I haven't done a back to back test, so it could have been the venue, or maybe just my ears playing tricks on me.

Faulty Pickup selector switch on Ibanez AFB200 Semi Acoustic
EmmettC replied to basskit_case's topic in Repairs and Technical
That's a good result. -
Yes, it is, but within it he clearly says if he had a signature model it would only have one pickup, one control knob etc. He seemed quite sure about that!
As I understand it he was a guitarist when he joined Slipknot, so he might have developed a new two pickup sound since then, anyway we're all entitled to change our mind, or have it changed for us by the offer of a free signature model.

Just what twincam said really, both nice CV a bit nicer. I had a CV tele with fender pickups and it was really amazing, it was so good my guitarist basically stole it and left money in its place.
