  1. I love my Ray 5, I actually don't understand why all 5 strings don't have the narrower MM spacing. It's still wide enough to play slap, but manageable with normal sized hands. I agree that a Stingray 4 (or classic/USA Sub) are among the nicest looking basses ever, unfortunately the "normal" Ray 5 is not pretty, but it more than makes up for it in quality.
  2. I don't suppose you would be interested in trades? I know that wouldn't help with minimalist living, but thought it was worth asking.
  3. What's the width at the nut?
  4. RIP. Chris was a true gent. I am lucky enough to have spent time riding motorbikes with him, and even luckier to have an acoustic bass he made me
  5. Hello, not been around in ages, but trying to sell some gear (and probably buy some too). I thought as im here you might like to see my Chris McIntyre Jazz 5 in shell pink. I commissioned it specifically for my wedding band gig, it's 4 hour gigs 3 nights a week so I wanted something light and versatile, but also pretty simple. I also started playing 5 strings on a Stingray, so I went for a narrower bridge and nut than mist Jazz basses. I picked the lightest bit of ash Chris had, and went with a John East J-sound preamp. An active/passive that's very versatile, with lots of internal options such as interchangeable tone capacitors, but really simple on the front. I wanted Nordstrand pickups, but had to have them custom made for my string spacing, sound great though, and work really well with the preamp. I have to admit the colour was influenced by Flea's jazz bass, and it's a nitro finish so should wear in nicely. I've done 3 gigs with it now, had the nut lowered very slightly, but apart from that I couldn't be happier.
  6. Price drop to £80 including UK delivery. Just clearing out some gear I never use, and I've decided it's time to sell the best value cab I've ever had. I bought it a few years ago, can't remember if it was on here or eBay, but I think it was about £150 and I used it for a bit, and lost the "Focus" badge off the front, so £100 seems like a fair price. There's a quite a few minor marks and scratches, and two pretty big ones. It was missing a plastic nut from one of the Jack sockets, I've replaced it but the two nuts are different. That's all the bad bits, the good bits are it's a cheap loud 112 that sounds great. I'm based in Edinburgh, I'm happy to post it within the UK, but I would obviously prefer collection.
  7. Sold a Soundblox Envelope Filter to Jake, very pleasant from start to finish. Even let me know the pedal had arrived safely.
  8. Sold pending the usual.
  9. Just bought a Barefaced cab from Simon, spent way too long talking about bass stuff too. Pleasure to deal with.
  10. Having a clear out to make way for a 3Leaf Wonderlove, next on the block is my MXR bass envelope filter. Really great pedal, gigged a lot, but it's still in fantastic condition apart from Velcro on the bottom. Comes in the original box with manual etc. Add £5 for UK postage. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzdzY4NFh1ZzluS28/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmza2FGZVBCWDhiRFE/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzUnY1Y3l2aHpPZFE/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzWWloN2ZXYlloYVE/view?usp=drivesdk And sold

  12. My phone flipped out after paying my subscription.
  13. I've kept this as a backup compressor and DI box for years, but at this stage it's a backup for my backup and I have GAS. I used it a lot for a while, so it's well gigged, has Velcro on the base and I don't have the box. Collect in Edinburgh or add £5 for UK shipping. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzS0Y0UVNKU3l1TG8/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzbWVvdlYzTzJ1YkU/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzS0ExdTJKRGNSWTg/view?usp=drivesdk
  14. Not using this much and gasing for a few other things. £50 picked up in Edinburgh or add £5 for tracked UK shipping. In great condition, with box and manual. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzV0RNU0xLR3VUcW8/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzRzRybVdzdGhYSzA/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzMEdSRWFPZG5rN3c/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzNGRyMWgzT1pEek0/view?usp=drivesdk
  15. I always thought it added a little bit of warmth, which is why it worked well with EBS. I'm definitely not ready to part with it, just wondering if there's a better option.
  16. I've got a Cali 76 CB and I've loved it for years with my EBS rig it compressed well and added a certain amount of warmth. I recently started using a GB Streamliner and it's so warm sounding that I don't think the Cali works that well with it, any recommendations on a compressor that works as well but is a little more transparent. I've been drawn to the Darkglass, but only because the B3K is so good, I haven't actually tried the Super Symmetry.
  17. Edinburgh, a bit too far for a meet up. Thanks anyway.
  18. Will you split them up? Would you be willing to pack up if I arrange a courier? I'll take the compact if you can. Thanks.
  19. Would you be willing to split. I'm interested in the 210. I would need to arrange a courier to collect, would you be able to pack it up?
  20. Bought a Gens Benz Streamliner from Graeme, couldn't have been easier. Looking forward to gigging it all weekend.
  21. I'll happily take this. PM incoming.
  22. I had a Cort made Squier Strat for a while, and I shouldn't have sold it. It was an amazing guitar, I've only tried one, so it may have been an exception, but it was great.
