I've kept this as a backup compressor and DI box for years, but at this stage it's a backup for my backup and I have GAS. I used it a lot for a while, so it's well gigged, has Velcro on the base and I don't have the box. Collect in Edinburgh or add £5 for UK shipping. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzS0Y0UVNKU3l1TG8/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzbWVvdlYzTzJ1YkU/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzS0ExdTJKRGNSWTg/view?usp=drivesdk

Not using this much and gasing for a few other things. £50 picked up in Edinburgh or add £5 for tracked UK shipping. In great condition, with box and manual. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzV0RNU0xLR3VUcW8/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzRzRybVdzdGhYSzA/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzMEdSRWFPZG5rN3c/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4wXqTqKajmzNGRyMWgzT1pEek0/view?usp=drivesdk

I always thought it added a little bit of warmth, which is why it worked well with EBS. I'm definitely not ready to part with it, just wondering if there's a better option.

I've got a Cali 76 CB and I've loved it for years with my EBS rig it compressed well and added a certain amount of warmth. I recently started using a GB Streamliner and it's so warm sounding that I don't think the Cali works that well with it, any recommendations on a compressor that works as well but is a little more transparent. I've been drawn to the Darkglass, but only because the B3K is so good, I haven't actually tried the Super Symmetry.

Bought a Gens Benz Streamliner from Graeme, couldn't have been easier. Looking forward to gigging it all weekend.

I had a Cort made Squier Strat for a while, and I shouldn't have sold it. It was an amazing guitar, I've only tried one, so it may have been an exception, but it was great.

I use a Digitech bass chorus, it's horrible, which makes it perfect for Don't Stop Believin', comes up regularly with wedding bands, and I always get complimented on my tone for that song even though it's horrible.

He's everything a bass player should be, in my opinion, he's not flashy, his playing speaks for itself, and he always seems to play the perfect thing in every situation.

The 5 string anniversary Stingray that's for sale here at the moment. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/281740-stingray-5-hh-20th-anniversary-edition-rare-sweet-price-drop/ I have already explored the value of my Kidneys and my child, I need someone to buy it soon before I sell everything I own to get it.
Fitting a John East J-retro to a Jazz Bass gives you a multitude of sounds at your fingertips (if you want them). They are great and allow you to EQ a bog standard Jazz to sound like any bass you want; from a P bass to a Stingray and everything in between. I found the sound I was looking for pretty quickly and left it at those settings. I would occasionally make minor adjustments to suit the room.
I really like the J-retro deluxe, the passive tone works even in active mode. I set the sound I like and then use the passive tone to change it a little for different songs. All the benefits of passive and active.
Great quote, although I believe that was JJ Burnell... I remember the original interview. He may have nicked it from Dee Dee, though.
I was always surprised JJ didn't get a signature P from Fender, no actually surprised is the wrong word, this is the company who gave Mark Hoppus a signature model, he uses a capo on his bass........
The stuck on stencil relicing on the Rory strat is awful imo, have you seen one in the flesh?
No, just pictures. I'm disappointed to hear it's not great. I've seen Rory's original......

Not a bass, but if I won the lottery I would get a Custom Shop Rory Gallagher Strat, while he didn't have a lot of choice when he originally bought his Strat he had plenty of opportunity to replace it.
Sorry Dannybuoy, I have to respectfully disagree, every picture I can find of a deluxe shows the neck end regular adjustment, albeit with a cutout in the pickguard so you can get a allen key/screwdriver (whichever adjustment it is!) in there.. The Elites heel end is very different with an actual cutout in the neck itself where the MM style adjustment wheel sits..
The Am Deluxe and Precision had a "normal" truss rod adjustment, but the Dimension always had the Musicman type, it's a Fender version of a Stingray, so it made sense.
Which ever one has the best look for the band. They all sound like basses in the mix.
I like my Stingray a little more than my Sandberg, but the Sandberg just looks better, so it gets more gigs.
What about a Hofner Shorty? I've never seen or played one - are they any good? Any advantages over anything else, other than they are ridiculously cheap?
They're ok for the money. They don't generally arrive very well set up by Hofner, but play well once you set them up.

I have a Sandberg TM-5 and I'm not overly keen on the pickups (a jazz and a MM), they're ok, but I'm thinking about replacing them with Nordstrands if I can get a set that will fit.

The Elite has a Musicman style truss rod adjuster, the wheel thing at the body side, I think the sculpting on the heel is different too.
