1.
Hmm.. that is getting a bit tempting. I am sure there are going to be a flood of vintage classic tbirds coming up for sale soon!
I've been meaning to sell mine for some time, better pull my finger out before the flood!
2.
Would this be good for metal?
New music genre: Didgeridoom
3. They also make a semi-rigid (oo-er) foam gigbag/case for a bit extra: http://www.gear4musi...se-Standard/KHX I have one of these and find it offers almost the same protection as a standard hard case, but with shoulder straps and without the bulk and weight!
4. John East make one modelled after the original Stingray pre with a few improvements, and an added mid control. It is said that a large part of the Stingray tone is due to the preamp, so I would go this route if you just want to add a mid control. The Aguilar will no doubt sound great but it might sound rather different to what you already have, but then again you may want that!
5. I bought a new Streamer Std 5 a couple of years ago, got it from an Italian site for about £280! Prices have shot up to around £500 since but it looks like the bass is identical. The pickups are very low output on this particular model, but I don't think this applies to the rest of the range. I had to had an active pre, but it now sounds great. The carolena body is light but very soft and easy to ding. But onto the good bits that would be common across the range - it's the most comfortable 5 string neck I've ever played, it's nice and light, the neck is very stiff, the fretwork is great and the neck pocket as tight as can be. It's very well built and the low B rings out like a bell. The Fortress looks to be priced well above this one, but with nicer woods and electronics. I expect you'd be very happy with one!
6.
rather than a clean blend it'd be good to have a lo-pass blend, so keep everything up to like 200Hz clean and then wah above that. Otherwise the bass can really drop out
The Wahoo can do all that and more. The stock bass wah preset is very much like that, with a fixed lowpass filter in parallel with a foot controlled bandpass filter. You can blend full range clean in on top of all that as well, and also add a bit of drive, reduce the Q at the bass end to stop speakers exploding, all kinds of stuff to play with. It is a pain to program as you have to use an app to get the most out of it, and it needs isolated power to overcome noise issues.
7. You missed:

Dunlop Mini Bass Wah
Hotone Bass Press
AMT Alien Girl Bass Wah
G-Lab Bass Wowee
Sonuus Wahoo
Real McCoy RMC9-Bass Eqwahlyzer
Wilson Bass Wah
Wilson Freaker Wah
Source Audio Manta + Expression pedal
(in fact tons of envelope filter with expression input, such as the Wonderlove)
I'm currently using the Hotone Bass Press, it's decent, cheap, tiny, and triples as an expression or volume pedal. It sounds better than the mini AMT wah too.
8. I'd expect a divorce if I bought a pre-CBS Precision...
9. It doesn't have a VT Bass or an envelope filter built into it so that rules it out for me. If the overdrive/distortion sections don't have good low end retention then it's game over.
10. The VTDI has a few extra features, namely bite and blend. Bite is an extra hi-mid boost to add clank, baked into the original VT. The v2 VT has a speaker sim defeat which also removes the bite when removing the speaker sim; the VTDI essentially splits speaker sim and bite into separate switches. Blend is self explanatory, totally unnecessary at low gain IMHO (unless you want to roll it all the way off to remove the VT colouration entirely), but very useful at high gain, which otherwise squashes all the dynamics from your sound without a bit of dry signal added back in.
11. There's no reason why you can't send the effected out to headphones when you record, just set the latency as low as possible and you should be golden.

13. The SDrum is the only one that will let you program beats by strumming your lower/upper strings as kick/snare though... which is a killer feature, but only if it works out to be reliable in real world situations and if you have the flexibility to add fills/endings like the BeatBuddy can.
14. Check these out: http://www.jowbass.com/en-gb
15. The Vulcan replaced my Vintage and B3K and I love it, but the AO is a new addition!
16. There's an ad in the wanted section for a BigHead btw!
17. I don't have a single favourite these days, but it's still up there! It's very different to the Blueberry, can't say which is better. These days I am mostly using a Tone Hammer with the Precision and flats, Agro with my Yammy BB, and Alpha Omega with my Warwick Streamer. Each bass has its own partner!
18. I like that the HOF2 has built in chorus/flanger and expression/volume, pretty nifty. The Canyon wins for me based on those demos alone, it sound much more crisp.
19. Should do yes: Before you splash the cash though, do you have any other 9v adapter in the house at all you can check to make sure it's definitely your power supply at fault?
20. Markbass LMK2 - I think I saw one for sale around here too! Also: EA iAmp Doubler. PJB D-600
21. No idea, I bought it used so they probably got lost by the first owner!
22. Be aware that your might spend a lot of money and not notice much difference, or worse. I played a Squier VM Precision for a few years, then sold it to buy a Fender US Standard. Instant regret, as the old bass sounded better, the new one seemed a bit dull and lifeless. However now I've put flats on the US P, all is well! Also, to counter the point above, it's perfectly possible to experiment with pickups without losing cash (if you buy used) or screwing up your bass (if you get a solderless wiring harness). The EMG GZR pickup for example comes with a solderless wiring loom, just swap everything out including the pots and jack, or Kiogon on this forum can make them.
23. Try gloves perhaps? 🤔 Also Dunlop Super Brights might be up your alley.
24. I haven't checked out the Canyon or HOF2 yet, but prefer the tone of the Neunaber stuff over Strymon and others I've heard!
25. How about a One Spot if you don't need isolated outputs and different voltages? I'd go for that over the Diago since there's no brick to try and fit on/under the board as its all in the wall plug!
