1. That backs up what I heard then, I'm expecting nothing more than a rebrand, price hike, and spec tweak.
2. The original iRig is pretty much just a fancy splitter, the iRig HD though has proper digital converters inside. The Sonic Port is great, only downsides are no input gain and no way to charge the device during use - both of which are possible with the new iRig HD2 by the way, which is where I would be looking. Not a big fan of Positive Grid stuff though, too many annoying bugs such as pedals that just plain don't work (the Mutron!), knobs/switches that do nothing or work the wrong way round, etc. The amp models in Tonestack and Garageband sound better to me by far.
3.
Ah man. For ages Doug was on facebook saying there wouldn't be a fan. Now there is one. I hate fan noise with a passion I usually reserve for baked beans. I just can't have fan noise when playing with un-amplified woodwind instruments.
He has put a lot of work into the cooling system though to ensure that it only spins up when it needs to with variable speed. Unlike the Aguilar TH500 that comes on full blast after 10 minutes sat idle! So don't discount it until you've tried it or seen some reviews! I can't think of an amp I've tried that doesn't have a fan except the AD200.
4.
I replaced a very fantastic effectrode pc2a with one of these! And don't regret it one bit. Fantastic sound and beautifully built 😆
I replaced mine with your Effectrode and don't regret it either! Glad that worked out well.

6. I heard the American Standards are to be replaced with the American Professional series, featuring bone nuts and some new colours, not sure if there are any other differences. This was just an off-the-cuff remark by someone on a Talkbass thread about bone nuts, who reckons he has some insider knowledge! Expect to see some bargains when they clear the old line out though!
7. That Blueberry is a frigging bargain and won't hang around for long!
8. ^ Or you could just buy a cable or adapters that convert from whatever you have to whatever you need. No reason why you can't hook up fancy monitors direct to an on-board sound card with a stereo 3.5mm to two mono 6.25mm jack cable.
9. If you want clanky valves in a pedal, I would get a VT Bass! Proper tube amp distortion comes from pushing the output section to insane volumes which you might not be able to get away with. Pushing the input with a booster will work but you might get better results from an actual overdrive pedal. Only one way to find out though and that's to try it!
10. I had some Alesis M1 Active MkII monitors that were great, discontinued now but available for under £100 new - I sold mine on here recently for £75 posted. Many years ago I auditioned everything under £200 in a store and chose these. No headphone output or easy volume control (each speaker has a volume knob on the back that is pretty much set and forget) but pair it up with a mini mixer and you'll get that functionality as well as being able to mix in other sources.
11. Yeah, second track in, the "der der-der, der-der, der-der" from the crowd was drowning out the band so they just stopped playing everything except the drums and let the crowd carry it. The band were awestruck that many people knew the tune!
12. Sweet, I thought the line had been discontinued! Love my CV J.
13.
i have tried all of these and liked em, but in the end i settled on the eden its very warm and natural sounding and Andertons are doing them for 60 notes at present
Looks like a good deal, never seen this amp but it looks ideal for jamming with others. Two instrument inputs plus an aid input and two headphone oututs, so you could just use it as a mixer and headphone amp! https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/EDEN-EM15/bass-combos/eden-em15-2-channel-15w-multi-purpose-combo-amp
14. Here you go: http://www.smallsoundbigsound.com/products/team-awesome-fuzz-machine/
15. Hard to describe, but the new one sounded duller, not as much 'heft', and didn't respond to playing dynamics as well - my old one feels bouncy and squelchy when playing light then opens up and roars when you dig in, and the new one didn't react the same way. It wasn't pink though, and that could make all the difference!
16. Yeah, at least the one I bought a couple of years ago was not in the same league as my old one, not even close. It could have just been that one though, hard to day without trying a few! But the circuit has seen several tweaks over the years though according to posts on ilovefuzz, e.g. the transistors and the frequency of the mid switch changed at least once and newer ones have an internal buffer that's switched on by default for a brighter sound.
17. I've actually come round to the TAFM still being #1 in fact - OP ammended!
18.
Sounds nice. If you do end up moving on your TAFM .......1st first dibs please :-)
Did some A/B-ing earlier and there's no way I'm letting go of that TAFM I'm afraid!
19. If you want old school soul in a Class D head, check out the Orange Terror Bass! And buy a Precision.
20. Good news is that old bridge has good resale value for people building their own vintage style bitsa basses!
21. Says Amesbury, UK in the ad?
22. Is this the first ever recorded demo of bass fuzz? Sounds pretty sweet anyway! http://youtu.be/VAWwBEx3Qkc
23.
On a different note, if you decide to move the Photon on, 1st dibs please!
Maybe if/when the Photon III comes out in a several years time! Basically if you like fuzz, do everything possible within the bounds of the law to obtain one of these!
24. Black is the best colour for these anyway! I have the same bass, truly a keeper.
25.
That sounds pretty good. With the Muff it reminds me of the Soft Moon. Might be a winner, hopefully the noise floor is OK. The last EH modulation pedal I bought was the Bad Stone reissue which sounds great but the switch pops too loudly to use live.
You can fix that! https://www.talkbass.com/threads/fixing-the-loud-pop-from-the-ehx-bad-stone.1229566/
