  1. These guys are local too: http://www.themojoslide.com
  2. Not sure what 'generally palatable' means, but the best originals band from Schneerts I know of is The Simpletone. They play rock ranging from ballads to heavy riffing, all original. Not sure they've ever played a wedding before but I'm sure they'd be up for it to help pay for the recording of their new album! Tell the groom to get his bum down the Vine in Buckden this Sunday if he wants to check them out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4AB7vdchck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCoNKdzGXSY
  3. [quote name='markdavid' timestamp='1461671234' post='3036584'] thanks, so if i use my boss bass eq pedal this should sort out the impedance mismatch if i decide to go the mixing desk route? [/quote] Yes, you could go from that to a standard line input on any mixer no probs!
  4. Get the direct URL for your image and either put it between IMG tags: [CODE] [IMG]http://www.wotever.com/mypic.jpg[/IMG] [/CODE] Or if you are editing on a PC/Mac rather than mobile device, just click the image that looks like a polaroid and post the URL in there. I upload all mine to imgur.com. Dangerboy is no longer active on this forum but has/had the most amazing EGC chromed up jazz, looks like something from Terminator 2! If this thread gets traction I'll ping him and get him to post pics.
  5. [quote name='gsgbass' timestamp='1464230675' post='3057758'] I just got in this USA Geddy Lee Jazz today. [/quote] Nice! I'm currently gassing for one of those, I want to try before I buy but haven't found anywhere nearby that has one in stock!
  6. [quote name='karlfer' timestamp='1463946119' post='3055258'] Now, a Sea Foam Green TBird OR Explorer, with single chrome covered pup would certainly get the credit card out [/quote] Funny you should mention that... 2 pickups but here you go anyway: [url="http://www.mikelull.com/site/instruments/signature/signature-ament.html"]http://www.mikelull....ture-ament.html[/url] The red one at Bass Direct is £3K though!
  7. Where are you based? Looks interesting but would want to try it out - I've bought too many basses blind that I now have a collection of unused basses I need to shift!
  8. I don't know when you last imported anything but that £8 fixed charge as been there as long as I can remember (probably 10 years since I got first stung).
  9. They need to state how many mA this thing can handle, I don't see that listed anywhere. Seeing as they show it hooked up to synths and micro amps, it must be quite a bit and more than enough for a large pedalboard...
  10. [quote name='tonyquipment' timestamp='1464089186' post='3056422'] Nice idea but 5v to 9v? How many stepper uppers will you need? It will just blow it off the wall won't it ? Now u can probably charge phones from the 9v stepping down but the other way around is just ...entertaining to watch. [/quote] I've got a 9v - 18v converter tip from Diago; this uses the same principle. Lots of pedals (EHX Glove for example) have the same circuit internally these days to get the increased headroom of 18v from a 9v supply.
  11. I haven't even read the link but can't see any problems with it damaging anything. I assume it's a male USB plug going to a charge pump, going to a pedal style 9v DC barrel - if so there would be no risk of plugging a USB device into the 9V supply. Sounds a bit pointless when you could just buy a 9V supply for the same money though?
  12. If you like Brite Flats, try Status half-rounds. Very similar but a bit smoother, cheaper, and I think they sound better!
  13. I moved from a BB415 to BB1025X and didn't notice any decrease in volume - the BB1025X has a pretty high output, much more than my P bass.
  14. Eagle Music stock them: http://www.eaglemusicshop.com/prod/baritone-ukuleles/Gold-Tone-ME-Bass-Electric-Bass-Ukulele.htm
  15. Bought tickets for Vulfpeck but that's ages away! Apart from that, off to see my favourite local rock band The Simpletone next weekend. Check their stuff out on iTunes and Spotify and whatnot!
  16. The answer is simple - both! But if I was forced at gunpoint to choose one, it would be a PJ with a J neck. J sounds cool with the pickups blended, but weak with either pickup soloed. It can't touch the meatiness of a fine P.
  17. Maybe if you get the USB camera connection kit - I think it supports most USB audio devices. I was just wondering yesterday if I could use one to hook up my PJB Bighead with my iPad!
  18. Not tried the Stagg but it's hard to beat the Polytune for readability: http://youtu.be/v41aNTTs_VI The Polytune mini is just as readable too, but if readability takes precedence over size, get the full sized one! I have a Polytune Mini Noir that I want to upgrade to the v2 for the new strobe mode, if you're after a mini one and not bothered about strobe mode I'll do you a deal!
  19. I think Marcus has switched to Dunlop super bright steels. Worth trying them out as they are cheaper (than the usual DR price that is, not your lucky £21 purchase)! If they are good enough for Marcus...
  20. [url="http://www.ovnilab.com/"]http://www.ovnilab.com/[/url] Not listed there, but the TC Electronic Spectracomp has so many adjustable parameters via the app and downloadable presets it should be able to cop any compressor tone you could imagine. It's also one of the cheapest on the market!
  21. [quote name='EssentialTension' timestamp='1463239532' post='3049868'] ... and further variant colour tones at Musician's Friend ... [url="http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/epiphone-limited-edition-jack-casady-blue-royale-bass-guitar"]http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/epiphone-limited-edition-jack-casady-blue-royale-bass-guitar[/url] [/quote] That's the same one this thread is about unless there are any others on the site I can't see?
  22. Thinking of swapping mine out too but prefer the look of the Hipshot, plus it's cheaper. Also I hear stories about having to file down the flanges on the Babicz to get it to sit flush on the body when fitting it to an Epi TBird Classic Pro?
  23. Thanks! Any idea if those resistance values might have to change depending on if a passive bass vs buffered signal is going in?
