1.
Oh not seen that BC-1X yet, looks interesting. As does the BB-1X bass driver.
The BB-1X looks better than it sounds unfortunately!
2. The Manta does have expression input, but you either have to use their exp pedal or buy the hub to use a different one.
3. Only downside with the MXR is you might have to crank the sensitivity if playing softly with a passive bass, you did say that was a problem with your Proton (which I believe is fixed in the newer Protons btw!).
4. I've tried a ton of filters: 3Leaf Proton, Groove Regulator, GR2, Wonderlove EHX Bassballs, Enigma Q-Balls, Mini Q-Tron (not the newer Micro), original Q-Tron Keeley Neutrino Beigel Tru-Tron 3X WMD Fatman MXR Bass Envelope Filter Boss FT-2 Tonefactor 442 Zoom Multi-FX (B1Xon, B3) My favourites are the two old Q-Trons. The original sounds best with playing low down and is more versatile, but the Mini has a certain something that makes it extra funky even though it doesn't sweep as low. These can be picked up used very cheaply, only downside is their size (the Mini is not very mini!) and power requirements (Mini is 9v but has a funky socket, original is 24v). 2nd fave is the TruTron 3X. Apparently (I've not tried one) it does everything the original Mutron III does plus more (being designed by the same guy, who also incidentally did the original Q-Trons). However since I only play these pedals occasionally for fun and it's a pretty expensive unit, I'm thinking of moving it on. 3rd for me is the GR2 and Groove Regulator (GR2 just edges it). Amazing versatility, great envelope action, very fat sounding but just not as wet sounding as the 'Trons. 4th is the MXR. Not as fat since it's a bandpass mixed with clean, but it is the best filter for slap and can get some very unique sounds. Of course other people could list the total reverse order to me as everyone has different preferences, filters are a very personal effect and respond uniquely to different playing styles and basses! The ones I have not tried but really want to are the Chunk Systems 00Funk (hard to come by though) and Source Audio Manta. The Manta has so many filter models built in I'd be amazed if you didn't find one you liked. The Zoom units also do a very nice model of the Q-Tron and a couple of others and are cheap as chips (especially if you buy my used B1xon!).
5. I get low output and distortion due to some dodgy patch cables from time to time. So ordered some new cables and one of these last night! https://www.music-group.com/Categories/Behringer/Accessories/Cable-Testers/CT100/p/P0133
6. Do my eyes deceive me or is that bridge pickup in the 60s position? I thought all the Geddy's had it a bit further back in the 70s position, bang in line with the tone control. Perhaps they've changed them?
7. Very unlikely, it's more likely to be a pedal or a cable at fault.
8. Yamaha BB has a nut width of 42mm, same as a 4-string P. But the comfiest 5 string neck I've had is my Warwick though - it has narrower spacing at the bridge, the neck doesn't look too slim but somehow it feels like it is and fits my small hands perfectly!
9. I'd just go for some glow in the dark side markers. You can't see the front dots when playing anyway!
10. Most pickups only come in black except the Dimarzios, but you can replace the covers easily. Except for the aforementioned EMGs, which are black and come as a sealed unit!
11. I had an older B3K and newer B7K, kept the 3 as it sounded better with my active Warwick. I couldn't get them to sound exactly the same, even with all 4 EQ knobs at 11:00 which is the supposed flat setting.
12. Looks like the link text was changed but not the link target, maybe try deleting and re-adding the link!
13.
I love mine if I'm honest. It is very grindy sounding but also really good for just adding a little bit of grit if you set it up right. It doesn't really do "warm" tones that well but that's not what I'm after with my sound so that doesn't bother me one bit. As far as keeping the sound in a band mix goes/low end loss. I don't have any issues using mine with a band. For an idea of it just adding a little bit of crunch - my Tesseract cover uses the B3K as well...ignore my shoddy playing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMM8AHFc63A
These pedals definitely sound best with dual humbuckers, especially if they are both closer to the bridge and closer together than average. As evidenced by this clip, the Dingwall NG-2, and my Warwick Rockbass Standard Streamer!

15. Looks better on, looks a bit like a Sterling!
16.
I've been gigging with the Classic 450 and RH450 heads for a few years now and the in-build Spectracomp in both amps is fantastic. The parameters behind the one knob (not the one actually playing) control are absolutely spot on in my opinion and experience, and really help to level out and add punch to my heavy handed finger style playing. If this pedal has the ability tweak the internal parameters further (not that I think I'd ever need to but it'd be worth seeing what it can do when edited) then it will be a truly versatile and adaptable tool with a wide appeal. Anyone have any idea of the price yet?
They are already available: http://www.prymaxe.com/products/tc-electronic-spectracomp-bass-compressor $100, or $80 with their current discount.
17. EMG Geezer Butler signature set or Dimarzio Model P / Model J.
18. Brand new unused Positive Grid BT-4 Bluetooth MIDI controller for sale chaps/chapesses, might tempt some of you! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/277432-positive-grid-bt-4-bluetooth-midi-controller-unused/
19. I bought this before getting into the whole iOS audio thing, but after getting into the whole thing I've found I prefer my amp and pedals, and just use the iPad rig for headphone practice. Therefore a foot controller is surplus to requirements! The box has been opened but it has never been used. I don't even think you can get these over here yet, it worked out around £110 including postage and import fees so selling for the same price including postage! https://www.positivegrid.com/bt4/ http://www.musicappblog.com/bt-4-review/
20. Just imported this from stateside, after hearing that it can cop all of the tones of my favourite overdrive (Bearfoot Blueberry) but with a brighter sound. It sounds great but I still prefer the darker tone of the Blueberry - so I thought I'd see if anyone fancies it before I return it! Clips on bass here: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/bearfoot-uber-bee-soundclips.1151591/ Will put pics up later.
21. These are great little speakers - I went into Digital Village many years ago and tried out several pairs (some much more expensive) before settling on these. They are active and biamped internally. There is a small chip on one of the ports but otherwise they are in great condition. I am also chucking in a couple of foam isolation pads and short XLR-to-TRS leads (they aren't very long - I used to keep my Behringer mixer, also for sale, perched on top). I still have the original box so they will sent securely. £70 posted, £60 if you want to pick up from St Neots area.
