1.
UPS via Interparcel for me.
Most basses I've either bought or sold on here were shipped the same way!
2. I'd run it straight into the regular input since the Mark Bass pre is pretty much flat with all the EQ knobs at noon and the filters off. Also IIRC the fx return gets blended 50/50 in parallel with the dry signal by default on that amp (switchable internally), which might result in less overall output volume vs having the fx loop running in series.
3. D'Addario nickels too (well that's what came on my BB1025X).
4. Heard great things about em, at the rate I change strings I hope to give them a try before 2020!
5. That would've been my first port of call! Even though they are US based, you never know they might offer a free repair and cover the postage, or be partnered with a repair shop in the UK, where if you can't get a free repair, at least it'll be someone who knows the pedals well rather then some Joe Bloggs who's never clapped eyes on a Filter Twin before.
6. If it's constant background static and popping when you aren't even touching the pots it might be something else. Dodgy flux capacitor wotsits or flaky thermionic isolation valvotrons perhaps.
7. Have you tried contacting Aguilar?
8.
The controls on my amp.
Oh come on, not everyone has EQ on their amp, some of us use an Orange Terror Bass!
9.
If you're primarily playing dirty and overdriven tones, the first thing I'd look for is the absence of a tweeter. Beyond that, I'd really want to try them all.
This. I use a vertical stack of two Ampeg SVT210AV cabs, which is too narrow for that amp, but just right for my Terror Bass!
10.
too bad its sold
Why, were you hoping to purchase it for $13,995?
11. Not sure what you mean by 'recording the drums through the speakers'? It's been a while since I dabbled with Sonar, but I've used crappy built-in sound with ASIO4ALL drivers set to 10ms latency, playing back a sampled drum track and recording a guitar into it and all went well. If you are using built-in sound without ASIO4ALL, install it and you will have a slider to adjust your latency.
12.
They are both stunning looking guitars - I want an SG
Ahem! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/270639-gibson-sg-gothic-guitar/

3db
The decibel scale is based on a Logarithmic scale, not a linear scale. An increase of 3dB represents a noticeable doubling in the volume, so a 1dB gain may well be audible for most people, but most wouldn't really realise it (unless they have sensitive hearing). For example, a 50w guitar amp is rated at 100dB, where a 100w guitar amp is rated at 103dB. Although the Wattage rating is doubled, the dB rating is only 3dB, but the 100w amp will be twice as loud.
The 100W amp will not be twice as loud, for that you'd be looking for 400W and hope your speakers don't melt before you reach that volume increase!
14. The Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V Active has a very wide neck, not sure about the depth though! 51mm at the nut, it's like a bleedin' six-string!
15. Bought a pedal from Adam yesterday and received it this morning, can't ask for better than that! Cheers!
16. I'll take it, PM incoming...
17. The gold pickguard looks great on these (on sunburst or blonde that is, not fiesta red!), and that's coming from someone who hates gold. I was just going to suggest buying this road worn neck, but it looks like you're already sorted! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/271884-neck-from-a-fender-50s-roadworn-series-precision-bass
18. I am tempted to buy this and scrape the letter B off of the headstock!

20. Certainly, and for your budget you could buy a Harley Benton 51 Precision, normal Precision, Jazz, and a Stingray!
21. 50s Classics are wider and thicker than the standard Squier and Fender jobs. I bought (and then sold) one for £350 in mint condition a couple of years ago (but admittedly not seen them that cheap since, the RRP has gone up since also). It was the best sounding, most resonant P I've ever played (I've owned a Squier VM, Roadworn and a couple of US Standards), but I just couldn't get on with the nut width as I have small hands!
22. Looks like a great pedal! Bassists mostly just talk about Russian / Civil War muffs, but with the bass EQ I can see this being very popular. Now I wanna try one...
23.
I had the same issue when I first bought my 34" scale Yamaha Bb. I tried a few different string manufacturers & gauges & finally settled on D'Addario with a 135 B. I have limited experience with 5's but it now feels & plays great & the difference in tone is minimal. In short I guess you just have to find the right strings for it.
Funnily enough I went back to D'Addarios on my BB and the irony is that's what comes fitted out of the factory (although probably a 130 not 135)! Next string change though will be Dunlop Super Bright Nickels, I've heard great things about them and word on the street is if you like D'Addario nickels you'll love these.
