1. PM me any trade offers - not looking for anything specific right now but you never know!
2. I know you said no trades but let me know if you'd like to swap for a new Aguilar Fuzzistor!
3. Bump with a fiver off!
4. I had one of these, lovely bass and does a great upright impression when strung with nylon tapewounds!
5. One thing to note about these amps is that the drive control does more than add drive, it rolls off the highs and deep lows, kind of like a vintage speaker emulator. I hear that it's like a variable version of the AGS stomp switch on the Tonehammer pedal. I really liked mine, but returned it as the fan was too loud and kicked in at full blast after 10 minutes of being switched on. Not a problem on a gig, but for quiet home practice it was a deal breaker. Already had the 'well you should buy a practice amp for practice' responses from a few people on Talkbass who were rather upset about the fact I wanted a quieter fan. Shame really as I loved the sound, just wished it had a more intelligent fan control that only kicked in when needed and adjusted the fan speed as necessary.
6. This thing does sound great, I wonder if they have plans for a traditional multi fx unit? The overdrive sounds are really good, I'd certainly think about ditching my pedals for one of these.
7. Found some clips: http://www.markbass.it/Bass%20Multiamp%20presets%20by%20Cesare%20Chiodo?&preview=2b271554ccf51754a785098bb0950f9c
8. I take it you are driving a power amp directly then if using the +10dB button? The volume boost would overdrive the front end of another pedal that's expecting an instrument level signal. If chaining these pedals together just make sure that only the last one has the boost switch engaged.
9. I'd use the parallel output to the guitar amp, or on the BDI21 just turn the blend all the way down!
10. Because the sound these pedals produce had a distinct voice, having both on can be a bad thing unless you have one set rather subtly so it acts as more of a booster. An overdrive with a healthy midrange boost works really well before these pedals I find. But if the bite switch has an effect on the bypass sound, you either have a defective unit or Tech21 seriously screwed the pooch on that one!
11. Depends how big the dents are, but you should be able to return it at no cost to you... Or bargain with them for £100 or more off. If the dents are that bad, they'd have trouble selling it at £50 under the new price, and once you factor in the void of another courier, they would probably cough up more then that. Same thing happened when I had a freezer delivered which had a scratch. Told them £50 was not acceptable and I wanted a new one, ended up with £100 off after some haggling!
12.
You may dive into the section as a tyre kicker but you may spot something that turns you into a buyer! GAS
I've bought several basses I was not searching for due to precisely this, which is why I want them all in one place. The ideal solution would be the ability to add searchable attributes such as model, number of strings, colour, etc, and have them as drop down selections under search, much like eBay.
13. I say that's a bad idea - first, where do you draw the line as there are tons of brands? I'd rather browse one forum than have to click on twelve if I'm just window shopping, and if I want something specific there is the search feature.
14. 1st clip for #5 and #6 is a Stingray, can you fix it?
15. This was to solve a problem of a handle getting in the way, but would also solve your issue:
16. I think the Performers have the flat body (like my Rockbass Streamer) but the Legends look to have the carved curved body?
17. Jammy bar steward! Oh yeah, and
18. Also where does the cheaper Spector Legend fit into the equation?
19. Aguilar's brand new fuzz pedal. They've only recently started shipping these and I don't think you can even find one it for sale over here yet. Virtually brand new, just taken out of the box to test for a few minutes. £115 posted - now sold http://youtu.be/-vTP909tUI0
20. Got this in to see what all the fuss is about, seeing as the answer to 'which overdrive?' on Talkbass is answered by a chorus of 'Barbershop!'. I prefer my Bearfoot Blueberry and BB Preamp for different flavours of OD; I see this as more of a dirty boost. Very transparent, set to low gain you can't tell it's on, then you can add just a tiny edge of drive from there. So only a couple of days old and hardly used, yours for £120 posted.
21. Well, it's not for sale yet, only pre-order. Lozz might be in for a long wait!
22. It'll cost a lot more than £18.50 but the East P-Retro is made for P-Basses and fits in without needing to rout a battery box as it has an internal rechargeable battery that you charge up via the jack socket: http://www.east-uk.com/index.php/all-products/p-retro.html
23. Or - buy one of the many cheap clones instead of a real Kala and you could afford both!
24. It's the fretted one that is a bit of a nightmare intonation wise, at least beyond the 7th fret. At least with the fretless you can stay in tune with enough skill. Violinists can manage it! Another thing is that it's nigh on impossible to do vibrato or bends on fretted - the strings are so stretchy that they hardly change pitch when bent. Not a problem when you can slide on a fretless. Also you can get string rattles on the fretted one if you don't press right behind the fret, I hear the fretless is a lot more forgiving in this aspect. I've had the fretted one but would choose fretless next time around.
