1. Well this is a supposed reissue of the wah he used, and the original pedal came with a built in fuzz circuit. I don't think Morley are trying to claim it was his main fuzz pedal. Anyway, I thought he used the Power Wah Boost which had a boost circuit built in instead of fuzz, but if the wah section is identical then it's close enough!
2. Most noisy fans can be replaced with quiet ones too, which is exactly what I've done with my Orange Terror Bass.
3.
Can't polish a turd
But you can roll it in glitter!
4. That would be me - sounds perfect in the boost position, no volume loss with mine. If you can't stretch to the G-Lab, I'd go for the 105Q, there are plenty of them about used too.
5. You snooze, you lose!
6. Tolex! Is that just for the Retro range then?
7. I wouldn't recommend it, I thought it sounded pretty bad and the rocking action was terrible, very hard to get a smooth gradual sweep out of it.
8. I'd ask a mod to move this and the other pedal to the fx for sale area!
9. Can't remember the track, but there was a section in one song that made me hear my brother calling out my name, and another that made me think the doorbell rang. So you're not alone, it's just how your brain processes stuff I guess!
10. Check out the EMG Geezer Butler set. People are raving about these pickups and I've not seen one bad review. The bridge pickup is noiseless and higher than usual output to match with the P too.
11. Look for 'closed cell' foam on eBay - that's the stiff stuff, I got a sheet that I use as a platform between my amp and cab.
12. I think the best way to stop it is to have names on tickets and require ID upon entry, then the box office make it easy to return tickets for a refund where they can be resold to people on a waiting list.
13. Bump, still available and price reduced to £45.
14. Ah, welcome to capitalism. People will pay those inflated prices, so people will sell them for what they can get. Look on the bright side - at least you don't have to go and see One Direction with a bunch of screaming schoolgirls. If it were me, I'd be over the moon!
15. Those probably aren't suitable for DHA 12v pedals though, I doubt they're rated to provide enough current so you might fry them!
16. How about Velcro instead?
17.
Why didn't I read this thread 4 hours ago... I just bought a USA made B3K and could have got the Finish one, after reading about all this and now being informed I wish I'd backed the Finish one!
Unless you bought one of the prototypes direct from 3Leaf, the old stock USA built versions are still profiting Darkglass since they just outsourced the manufacture to the US for a period. However, a good reason to get the newer one is because it has a tweak to the 'attack' control. Instead of flat/boost1/boost2, it now has flat/boost/cut, very useful I reckon as I found the B3K I had too bright and might've kept it if it'd had a treble cut option.
18. That particular circuit looks very handy for retrofitting inside of another pedal!
19. Maybe the Source Audio Manta, EHX Enigma or Big John Obama Wah?
20. If Spencer made a bunch of prototypes to test different finishes out for Doug while they were still working together, with his own time and materials, what is he supposed to do with them? They cost him time and money to build so why not sell them on. Are those complaining saying he should destroy them or give them away for free? On the other hand, if he is still building them and selling what would be deemed as counterfeits, then that's not on. But since you can't copyright a circuit, people clone pedals and sell them all over the place. Just look at Behringer.
21. Make sure you put it in flight mode in case your mum calls during the intro. Some phones have really low output levels. Lots of Android phones can be modified to increase the level if you're rooted though, I did this to my old Samsung Galaxy S by installing Voodoo Sound.
22. If you're looking for ways to squeeze out more volume from the existing combo then an SFX Thumpinator rolls off everything below audible frequencies that your amp and speakers waste energy trying to reproduce, meaning you can squeeze out a bit more headroom if your cab is currently distorting at max volume. Personally I would sell it and pick up a separate head/cab, you can get some good deals on used Markbass stuff these days.
23. How's my old Speaker Cranker working out then? It's a great dirty boost. I had an impulse Black Friday purchase of a new TAFM. Just because I love my original so much I want to see how the newer ones sound, they have a switchable buffer inside and a few tweaks here and there!
24. Pretty much everybody except WD Music and Spitfire has cheap printed tort though. Looking at the bevelled edge on mine from WD, you can tell it's been made by swirling a load of different colour plastics together the good old fashioned way as the pattern goes right through. It smells a bit funny too so is probably proper celluloid!
25.
Any pedal like the Sansamp para driver or dark glass vintage deluxe plugged into the effects return on the OTB sounds 10000 times better than going into the front of amp. Bypass the wooly preamp, and you get 500watts of thunder with your choice or EQ and drive.
The fx loop runs really hot though, most pedals would struggle to put out the level needed to drive the amp to full power! That Darkglass especially is not designed for driving a power amp as the clean portion of the blend cannot go louder than unity - volume knob affects the dirt channel only.
