1. I just received today one of these: And it is THE quietest bass I've ever had. I can boost the gain on the amp, but for it to sound good with other dirt pedals it needs a bit of juicing so I'm resorting to using a Phat Phuk B boost as an always on pedal. I opened it up and spotted something that doesn't look quite right. This is a passive bass with humbuckers and the volume pots are Alpha B25K jobbies. I know Fenders use 250K and I though most humbucker equipped basses like T-Birds used 500K? Any opinions on whether these pots sound totally wrong and if I could expect a volume boost by replacing them for 500K ones? Also considering making it active, there's enough room in there for a pre without having to route a battery box!
2. Bandcamp rocks. I've bought more music from that site than all other sites combined! They do FLAC downloads too! People can play the entire album for free on the website to check it out before buying it, then I would offer the download for a few quid and CD for a few quid more.
3. Finally some good news for Android, hope to see more support in future! http://liliputing.com/2014/11/now-samsung-phones-can-act-like-guitar-effects-pedals.html
4. Had a trade pending but not heard back from the buyer, so back up for sale!
5. Still does it. When I press on the video image, all that happens is the Quote and Edit buttons appear, as if I just pressed on the text area of a normal post. HTC One Max btw.
6. Nope, tried a few other sites with embedded YouTube videos and they're all working except for Basschat!
7. Just a test: http://youtu.be/u07Xf-kVjzk
8. I used to be able to play YouTube videos embedded into posts either directly in the browser, or by clicking on the title to launch then in the YouTube app, but now I just see the image with the play button and nothing happens when I press it. Not sure if this is a site update or Chrome update that's broken something?
9. I run mine into a Darkglass VMT Deluxe. Doesn't sound right without a hint of dirt after it!
10. Try overdrive into octave if you're doing it the other way around. Otherwise all that extra low end and volume going into the Blueberry is just creating more distortion.
11. I loved the Orbit and would've kept it if it had a clean blend... damn, too slow!
12. It's great for Wolfmother covers! The bassist flicks between bass and organ on some tracks, add a bit of dirt after the B9 and it gets pretty close!
13. It's not perfect, but it is unique and definitely useable. I can go below open A no problem, even below E. But for some reason it warbles when playing A!
14.
Sting is actually allergic to Bee-stings and carries a rolled up newspaper around with him at all times
15. I nearly always have a mild overdrive on, so that's my compressor!
16. Then again if you are playing with flats and want a warmer sound, rosewood is the way to go. I like ebony but can't stand ebanol, it feels like plastic and sounds rather harsh.
17.
Oh my god, how righteous is that bass tone! Fantastic I wonder what kind of bass that is, a bitsa Stingray-a-like or a custom build? What a band!
I gleaned from an interview with Joe Dart that it's some random cheap entry-level bass with a ceramic MM pup and TI flats, he didn't mention active or passive. It inspired me to buy Hamfist's modified Westone Thunder with P and MM pickups, which is now also wearing TIs and can get similar sounds!
18. Lol, just a shameless plug as I'm selling one! Most of the Devi Ever pedals I've ever heard sounded pretty wild on guitar but not that well suited for use on bass. The TAFM is still the benchmark for me. There's not really any demos out there that do it justice, but it's the fuzz I'll never get rid of!
19.
always on the look out for a a cool fuzz pedal!
Have you tried the ZVEX Mastotron?
20. And now sold!
21. And in the video I saw the MIM sounded by far the worst. However, they are supposed to have much better pickups these days and that could've been an older one. Really the best way is to try and get to a shop and play both! EDIT: Actually it was the Precision video where the MIM sounded appalling. In that Jazz comparison, the first USA bass was really bright sounding, then the MIM, MIJ and maple MIA all sounded pretty similar.
22. Phase issues only present themselves if the signal is split into two and one of them goes out of phase before they are recombined. I don't see any of that going on here unless you have either both pedals in the loop of a blender, or you are running them in the fx loop of an amp that puts the loop in parallel (like a Markbass).

25. By the way those Jamerson strings are REALLY heavy. Like suspension bridge cable heavy. You might be better off with a lower guage!
