1. Are you on Facebook? Someone's looking for one of these here: https://www.facebook...89090051102626/ I posted the link to this page on there as a comment.
2. Hmm. Go and see Pearl Jam by myself or take the wife out for her birthday?
3.
GHS Pressurewound Bass Strings: Fretless at 4.40 Lovely strings, mmwah, warmth and not too high tension. Won't eat up your board as they are relatively smooth. Loved them on a fretless that I had and I will be getting another set when my current defret is ready.
That's the first time I've heard someone sing whilst trying to demo their strings!
4. I bought the Mono and returned it because the backing wasn't grippy enough, it's the same slippery mesh material used on the front of it. I went back to using my standard Levys black leather strap with suede backing that I bought in a guitar shop years ago for about £15! http://www.hotroxuk.com/levys-m1-blk-2-5-inch-leather-guitar-strap-black.html http://omegamusic.co.uk/buy/levys-2.5-black-leather-guitar-strap
5. A tip for the TAFM: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/team-audio-fuzz-machine-tafm-buffer-dip-switches.1066117/
6. So far a very nice price for a very nice bass - if it's legit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1978-Fender-Precision-Fretless-Bass-SUPERB-condition-/151343153888?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item233cc142e0
7. I found the Your Doom to be a disappointment. Couldn't really get a good sound from it, although plenty of people seem to like it! One thing is, I think that whole thing about it being so dynamic is so overblown, I found it made pretty much the same sound no matter how hard I plucked. The Duality had some great sounds in it, but ultimately I was annoyed by the fact it did not have a gain control. I found some of the best sounds from it by turning down the volume on the bass. Neither could shake the Team Awesome Fuzz Machine from its throne! Best bass fuzz of all time if you ask me!
8. Price discussions should be kept to PMs, but since it's already begun, £886 is the lowest UK price I can find (although it should be said that does come with a nice padded gig bag).
9. Good job you posted the pic - that's a BB1024X!
10. Wow, a good-looking singlecut bass! I thought that was an oxymoron.
11. Awesome basses. Shame my brain can't decode JPG in ASCII format though but I'm sure it looks good! Dude's profile says he's in Portugal, dude.
12. Always loved playing this bass line! Quantic - Mishaps Happening:
13. Had another little play today - definitely a keeper. The first 3 modes are the most useable IMHO, turn the click right down, the dry bass all the way up, and just kick on a bit of organ to fill things out - then when you want a big brash organ chord just strum with a pick or fingernails!
14. Not bad! I didn't get a power supply with my nano Bass Big Muff, although one is supplied with the B9 Organ Machine!
15. I emailed Sounds Great on Saturday as their site was showing one in stock - they told me they had one coming in on Monday, and that all the EHX dealers would only be getting one each as they were in short supply. I guess that's what EHX told him after selling them all to HotRox!
16. Could only squeeze in 10 minutes to test it this afternoon, but the verdict is a thumbs up! The 'bottom end' mode is very bassy, but sounds much better played with a pick, somehow the sharper attack triggers the sound better and make the organ sound much fuller. There are a few mild tracking issues, I only tested with a 4-string passive P and for some reason a low A generated a slight warbling sound in the low end yet the top end of the organ was still nice and clean. It's as if there is a POG-like digital octave up which is stable but with a tiny bit of latency, mixed with a less stable but instant traditional octave down going on. Low E to G were perfectly fine though. I have a feeling a brighter bass with more attack like a stingray would suit this pedal more, that'll be the next test, as well as the 5-string BB. Playing dry droning root notes, then kicking on the pedal and chucking in some upper chord notes was a lot fun! Favorite modes were the first, 'fat and full', and the last, 'bell organ', which was a surprise as that was the model I liked least on the demo video. And before anyone asks, sorry, too busy to sit down and explore it more today and tomorrow, let alone record clips! I'm free Thursday evening though so maybe then!
17. Mine should be arriving any time now. I am at work, but I work from home, sat right next to my bass amp!
18. Just ordered mine from HotRox - they have 21 left in stock if you're quick! http://www.hotroxuk.com/electro-harmonix-the-b9-organ-machine.html
19. Are you dropping the low string from E standard all the way to C? If so that's a big drop - try tuning to D standard and drop to C from there.
20. Haim are on the BBC Glasto coverage right now!
21.
what is that weird thing with sliders? Not seen one before
EHX POG: http://www.ehx.com/products/pog
22. Until they return, Tanglewood is your next cheapest option at £200: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/TanglewoodSundance.html
23. There's a Markbass TTE500 for sale on here that might tick the boxes. Simple controls, great one-knob compressor, and whilst I've not heard one myself, plenty of people rate them above all the similar hybrid heads like the Orange, GK MB Fusion, Streamliner, etc. I currently use the Orange but am interested in giving the TTE500, Aguilar TH500 or GK MB Fusion 500 a try at some point.
24. £165 at all these places: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=b9+organ+machine&tbm=shop
