Hi Nick, It's a single bypass looper. When off, the signal goes straight from bass to amp. When engaged, it routes the signal through the tuner>fuzz>LPF and back again. I like a combination of fuzz and filter, so I just leave them both on, and pressing on 'The Noose' brings them both into play instantly.
Ah, now I see why you wanted the input and output on one side and went custom! That's a great idea for most boards to get yourself out of trouble if a cable or pedal dies mid gig.

Yeah, I had the same feeling. Meshuggah in a box. The Vintage is totally different though!

I want to add a gain knob to my Darkglass Duality too, which is also SMT, so this BBM mod will give me some practice before I'm let loose butchering an expensive pedal! Mids aren't a problem for me at the moment if I run the SFT into it, but being able to boost them even more wouldn't hurt.

You can also get 'no load' tone pots that effectively disconnect themselves when turned all the way up. If you want a brighter sounding Epi T-Bird, also consider trying the new Classic Pro (which has different pickups) or the Pro (which is active).

It's a fun journey isn't it! Surprised to see the metaldrive in there, do you use it as a subtle nearly-always-on overdrive? Over the years I've gravitated towards passive 5 string Yamaha BBs and vintage style amps (Orange Terror Bass and sealed Ampeg SVT210AVs). I've been buying various dirt pedals over the years only to sell them on again, always returning to my favourites the Catalinbread SFT, Team Awesome Fuzz Machine, Bass Big Muff and Boss ODB-3. I've been on a pedal spree lately though and am hanging onto the Darkglass Vintage Deluxe and IdiotBox Blower Box, so I now have six shades of dirt at my disposal, all of them unique in their own little ways!
Which brings us to the Fender Modern Player Jazz, which is where I came in. I quite like the look of the Blacktop Jazz with the twin P pickups - but it's not available in white!!
Say what? Well, it's white-ish. 'White Chrome Pearl' is the official colour.

Parts ordered, with a 10nf and a 2nf cap as well as a socket - watch this space!

If you want a slightly bigger Kala U-Bass, there is the Gold Tone Microbass, and slightly bigger again is the Aquila Short Bass One 14 (which Bass Direct told me they would be getting in at some point).

Billy Sheehan Signature Drive pedal alternatives?

*ahem* Yes it's still available! -
Here's the TB thread folks: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/barefaced-69er-thread.823993/page-9

Sounds like you won't have a problem with low end. I'm a firm believer that if the drive circuit retains the low end already, you only need a blend to bring back some definition and dynamics to heavy fuzz/distortion, most overdrives sound better without it. So it depends how high you want to set the gain, but if you want a blend I'm sure he could sort you out! The '66 Knightfall has a blend as well as bass and treble controls and two channels BTW.

Got some already! Doctortweek only have 10n and 15n caps in stock, not sure how much of a difference that would make?

Try turning your bass eq knob down? I'd recommend a Thumpinator normally to help but I think Genz amps have a built in high pass filter already. FWIW, I had the same issue with the STM600, ended up replacing it with the Orange Terror Bass, which is supposed to be 500W but is much louder!

I've already modded my BBM with a master volume knob to fix the volume boost in dry mode, as well as a feedback switch (see here). Now I want to add a mids control using the info posted here: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/bass-big-muff-mids-control-mod.1070352/ I've got a bunch of resistors, now I just have to find a source for the 20K LIN pot and 12n cap, and I shall be attempting it this week! (If anyone knows the best place to get those that won't charge ridiculous postage please let me know)

I'm using a pair of Ampeg SVT210AVs. I've tried various head/cab combinations and the Orange is always the darkest of the bunch no matter what it's plugged into. BTW, if you like the RH750 for its clarity, you'd be disappointed with the 450 as it doesn't have the same top end, so try before you buy! The 750 was on my shortlist along with a few others, but really looking to hear people's opinions on Aggie vs Orange.

I've had the OTB for a while now and love it, it has so much low end thump compared with other lightweight heads I've tried (Markbass LMII, Genz Streamliner, Ashdown MiBass, Ampeg Micro VR, Promethean). Only thing is, it lacks clarity. I don't want sizzling treble and enjoy the vintage high end roll-off; but at times the Orange can sound a bit too woolly for my liking. I don't need overdrive either as I get that from pedals; although I do like the slight compression and warmth from those tubes. Of all the amps out there, the Aguilar TH500 seems like the best fit for me. Can anybody who's tried both the Orange and Aggie chuck in their 2p? Also, if any TH500 owners are curious about the Orange (or an Ashdown CTM15) I'd be happy to sort out a short term swap arrangement!

Just bought a pedal off Mike and it arrived next day via special delivery, can't say fairer than that! Buy with confidence.

Top man. I contacted him to enquire about borrowing a pedal in exchange for one of mine, and all worked out very smoothly. In fact he was even kind enough to reroute the Tarkin he bought off Danbowskill via my house so I could try it out while he was on holiday since I was interested in buying it too!

Cheers all, but the other thread with the correctly spelt user name is over here! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/18653-feedback-for-dannybuoy/

Hopi ear candles are a total con. I had one done at a spa once, didn't make any difference, plus when it's burnt out they unravel it to show you how a load of powder inside that they claim came from your ear, when in fact if you burn one of these without an ear involved you get the same deposit inside at the end. After 34 years of using nothing but cotton buds, I put my head under the bath one day and the water never came out of my ears, and I was stuck partially deaf for 3 months. I first tried alcohol drops from the pharmacy, followed by olive oil then sodium bicarb drops prescribed by the doctor, but all that did is make a big sludgy cocktail in there. Eventually got them 'syringed' which I later learned isn't actual syringing anymore, but 'ear irrigation'. They basically have a tiny little jet pulsing warm water into your ear and it dislodges anything up there in a few minutes. It was all quite relaxing and my level of hearing was a revelation after. No more weird pops or ringing noises either, when I was scared I was getting tinnitus! Got the lecture about not using cotton buds, but still do - just on the outer part of the ear though!
