1. If the SA450 is anything like the LMII, it'll be a clear relatively flat sounding amp that will take well to tone shaping via pedals. DHA VT1s pop up used on here cheap quite often too. Great if you want to add a bit of 'valveness' without overly colouring your tone like a Sansamp can. A Catalinbread SFT is my always-on pedal though! What kind of basses do you play?
2. I always thought they looked alike (take the 's' off https to get the video to embed btw)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uBOtQOO70Y
3. Or a GK MB500 or MB Fusion!
4. Fender bought them and killed them off. There are a few places that still have them going cheap - check out Bass Direct, they have 2x Streamliner 600s going for £399! http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Streamliner_4.html
5. If it was fine for an hour at those settings then started to sound bad, you've probably knackered the driver. If anything inside the amp would've cooked itself you'd be more likely to be looking at a dead/smoking amp!
6. These amps tend to have a habit of going pfft. Mine has done so once, and got it repaired for nowt even though it was out of warranty, although I had to pay PMT £25 to cover the courier. I'd make sure I had a backup!
7. Sold! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVaxx4XYZzE
8. Funnily enough, this popped up in the site's advertising banners: http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/simgad/17401429199458555377 You've got competition!
9. The Empress would be top of my list if compressor shopping - excellent metering, and a blend control to allow heavy squishing yet still retaining some of the attack to come through. Not tried it unfortunately but it gets top reviews. And think about getting a Thumpinator or FDeck HPF instead of an EQ pedal if you want to roll of the subsonics!
10. Hi, sorry but I can't give you a proper answer as I've only ever played one Jazz bass and it had these pickups in it! There was plenty enough treble response for me and they were very full in the lows and mids. Others might be able to give a more honest assessment.
11. Well, this is a first. Would it be a fashion faux pas to play this bass wearing jeans? http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sandberg_VM4_Jeans_finish.html [Img]http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sandberg_VM4_Jeans_finish_files/Jeantop590.jpg" class="ipsImage" />

13. How big do you need to go? Unless you really want to DIY, you can get a used Pedaltrain Nano/Mini/Jr for around the £50 mark. No cheap plastic, these are made of welded aluminium alloy tubing and come with a decent carry case.
14. Zoom multi - compressor, chorus, reverb, delay all in one box! In particular, the B1on/B1xon, as well as being the cheapest, has the best selection of fx for what you need - most of the modulation/reverb/delays from the MS-70CDR and the compressors and bass specific fx from the B3/Ms-60B. For £49 delivered, I would try the B1on as your first stop! http://www.soundsliveshop.com/p/Zoom_B1on_Bass_Effects_Pedal/ZOOM-B1ON?CAWELAID=720016190000001193&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=1831862285&cadevice=c&gclid=CKz-p9uSuL4CFSLlwgod13cAlw
15. I've moved over to 802.11ac WiFi and I get faster speeds than powerline networking. Got a free BT Homehub 5 router upgrade just by phoning BT and signing up for an additional 12 months contract, then got a couple of Asus WiFi adapters cheap off eBay. Getting about 500mbps from downstairs to my main machine upstairs at the other end of the house! Now selling a pair of powerline adapters I suppose!
16. Digital pedals often introduce signal noise when on a shared daisy chain, quite often Zoom pedals. Start with just the LS-2 and fuzz, set to bypass, then add the other pedals one at a time to see which is the culprit!
17. You should ask a mod to move this to the Effects forum where you'll get more responses! Sounds like a chorus is being used a lot, maybe a reverb too but that just could be the stadium! Run the Sansamp into the Morley wah. The BSW might not be much use here, but I'd put that first in line. Don't boost the treble/bass/presence too much and go easy on the blend - it's quite a clean sound for the most part with the odd bit of dirt kicked in, but even the dirt sounds like it's blended with a clean signal.
18. Awesome! What are you running through for fuzz?
19. Yup. Woolly Mammoth is Fuzz Face based and drops all the low end with a buffered signal going into it. Anything based on a Big Muff will fine. They are the most common types of fuzz, anything else could a bit hit and miss.
20. I've got one too. I like it with the gain below 10-11 o'clock - it needs a blend at high gain to stop it turning to mush IMHO. Bags of low end though, and sounds great with a pick! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbIFevxp-1Q The low gain tones can be heard at 1:40 and 6:37.

odb3 mod

Ah-ha! I downloaded a dodgy PDF version but it doesn't have the ODB-3 mods in it - must be an older edition. Does the book have the same mods as these?
easy mod to make it much nicer: c10: 1uf r31: 1k c8: .001uf for more smoother compressed tone, change d2 and d3 to 1n4148's
22. He definitely could, this schematic even runs off 9v: http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/tronographic-rusty-box.html

Maybe not an SVT but that clip I posted earlier isn't a million miles away from the B3K!
