1. I don't know anything about copyright issues, but Soundcloud sounds perfect for that. When you have something properly recorded, give Bandcamp a whirl - I've bought loads of music from small bands on there!
2.
Keep playing it.

Sadly real life is getting in the way
Send it on a basschat tour, we'll all gig the hell out if it for you and return it once we've knackered it!
3.
Nope its more about ohms and driver efficiency. Putting in a higher wattage speaker may in fact make it quieter as your amp could be (and probably is) too weedy to drive it fully. If your existing speaker is 8ohms then replacing it with a similarish 4ohm one should get you a bit more oomph. But at the end of the day a 30w amp is pretty much a 30w amp.
Hmm, I think you may risk frying something if you switch the speaker to 4ohms when it designed to run only with 8ohms?
4. ... and if it's gone I have a brand new never fitted one that's going to be listed on here soon! I want a bit more than £40 though! ;-)
5. Now being parted out here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227740-parting-out-a-squier-jazz-neck-body-tuners-controls-bridge
6. My trusty old BB415, up for sale as I've upgraded to the more fancy BB1025X. I've gigged this quite a bit, but it's still in good condition with a couple of light scratches here and there. Great P like tone, and massive growling rock tone with both pickups engaged. Only 42mm at the nut like a 4-string P - great if like me you find Fender 5'ers too much of a handful. Lovely black sparkle paint job, much nicer than the plain gloss black on the new range IMHO. It has a pair of chrome domed knobs on it right now, but the original black plastic speed knobs will be supplied also. Local pickup preferred though (St Neots area), although I can deliver anywhere in the UK for an extra £15.
7. Peavey T40 in natural, born in 1979, wearing a set of toaster pickups! All original except for replacement pickguard - original one is warped but will be supplied also. Good condition for age, a few small dings here and there and a larger one on the top of the neck by the first fret which you should hopefully be able to see in the pictures. Now sold! 8. The 100W should do the trick - but there's a bargain £795 CTM300 on the 'bay at the moment: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251419070436?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Shame it's pickup only and miles away from you though! FWIW I had an AD200 and never had a problem filling a large room and even played outside with it once and it was nowhere near struggling, I reckon I could've got away with half the amount of power.
9. I have here a Squier Matt Freeman sig P in vintage white for sale, in very good condition except for a tiny paint chip in the neck pocket area (pictured) and some very mild buckle rash on the back (couldn't even photograph it, it's very shallow dimpling). These are similar in spec to the Classic Vibe basses, except this one has a maple neck, and the frets are a bit different - instead of thin and low, these are wide and low (in comparison with the standard medium-jumbos used on most Fenders which are wide and tall). These cost a bit more than the standard CV range, cheapest online price is currently £373. I'm after £230 if collected from St Neots, although I can deliver anywhere in the UK for an extra £15. UPDATE: I will be working in London 28th Jan - 3rd Feb, so can meet anywhere central (ideally Kings Cross, London Bridge or Waterloo). Here she is: http://www.fender.co...d-vintage-white
10. You got the spirit of jazz inside ya boy!
11.
i've both vmj and cvj and i have fallen out of love with the classic vibe....lovely thing but i prefer the sound of the vmj...seems a bit more...i dont know a bit less smooth and more bite than the cvj...the cvj seems duller for no apparent reason....the cvj does cone with a fatter cap could be why or the pup spacing maybe?
Same thing with the P's, I think it's partly due to the use of 500K pots in the VM rather than the usual 250K, not sure if the Jazzes are the same.
12. And now for something completely different:
13.
The 2008s were improved by graphite rods in the neck, and they also removed the S1 switching that had been in the previous series. I believe the outer layer of paint/whatever was also thinner to allow more resonance, plus there was the addition of a hi-mass bridge and lighter tuners. Saying all that though, it`s now been sold.
Graphite rods were introduced back in '95!
14. No mention yet of the Barefaced 69'er! The way it's designed should in theory mean it's easier to hear yourself clearly both on stage and around different points in the room too. Also it's by far the lightest option!
15. I'm just about to sell my black 415 if you're interested btw!
16. You should contact Aquila about getting a set of their new red strings. The Aquila dude has brought out a 23" scale bass and made these strings especially for them: http://www.shortbassone.com/?cat=4&lang=en Also La Bella are working on a set of their new transparent tapewounds designed for these type of basses too!
17. Only two fiddy from the 'tree: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/ampeg-svt-8x10-av-bass-cab-with-flight-case/1044518547 £1149 from GAK and that's without the case!
18. They're working on making a version of these strings for the Kala U-Bass and slightly longer scale Gold Tone Microbass too! http://facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=599411316794481&id=127487373986880&set=a.143713709030913.30725.127487373986880
19. Or: <InsertGearBrandNameHere>
20. Top notch build quality there! Half a neck pocket: Wonky neck plate:
21. I thought the DFA1979 distortion sound came from an Acoustic head? If so you can definitely get that in pedal format!
22. Never been to the shop (yet), but interested to know what Mark's 'views' are that everyone keeps hinting at? Judging by the fact he doesn't stock any Fender or Ampeg apart from used stuff, perhaps he's more into modern sounding gear, tweeters, and clackety-clacking?
23. I do enjoy playing this with my Team Awesome Fuzz Machine: And this one with a Boss ODB-3 which is what they use live too:
24. D'Addario EXL158's are a bit heavier on the bottom, designed for baritone scale guitars tuned B-B. So with the shorter scale, C standard should be no problem, strings might be a bit tight up top in drop C though with 13's:
25. I've got the 5 string version, you won't be disappointed!
