1. I've had a B2 and B3, and both buzzed when being used in a daisy chain shared with other pedals, but fine when on their own isolated power supply. If yours is noisy with the bundled power supply and it's not daisy chained to other pedals then perhaps something is up, do you have another 9v supply you can try?
2. Ebony is supposedly an option too. A black 2025X with an ebony board would be killer.
3. Nice bass! Don't be afraid to play the thing, take it on tour!
4. I think they look awesome, especially this one: [Img]http://www.soundsliveshop.com/Resources/Images/main/YAM-BB2025XBlack.jpg" class="ipsImage" />

Gojira Pedals.

Same thing happened to Mark at Earthbound Audio when the Supercollider got popular. Still no excuse for lies and bad communication though!
6. Not sure if this one ever sold: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/212150-ampeg-svt-di-valve-di-box
7. T40s go for around £350 in good condition, these are rarer and it looks like a very clean example, so I don't think it's overpriced.
8. I'm surprised you think the Squier/Fenders have narrow string spacing, they are some of the chunkiest 5ers around. Definitely avoid Yamaha and Ibanez if you want a chunky neck.
9. Why is this still here, don't you people know a good fuzz when you see one?! I'd buy it but already got one!
10. That brought back some memories, I had that DMC final on VHS and seen Craze live a few times too! It takes an extraordinary amount of skill, I got pretty good at the scratching part, but beat juggling requires a lot of ambidextrous coordination.
11. I'm just about to cough up the market place fees and sell a bunch of basses, including a Squier Matt Freeman Precision, and I'm not far from Northamptonshire!
12. Do you mean 'disco octaves'? If so, I play index finger on the low note, followed by ring then middle on the high notes. But some people play it with two fingers with agile string skipping, or play the low note with the thumb then use the first two fingers.
13. A Super 12 is perfect for a pub - less footprint than your typical cab, but a bit of extra height so people can hear you. I personally would change the Streamliner though, I thought the one I had sounded cr@p.
14. Check out Italia and Danelectro basses too if you want the retro look like that Eastwood.
15. Er, maybe it's not wired up correctly? There should be a massive difference, from bright and clanging with it fully up and dull and thuddy when rolled off.
16. The Fender Modern Player series are made in China (although this isn't one of them).
17.
What I really mean is i don't really care what tone i get from the sound guy as long as i can hear myself on stage.
If I had a 30W valve amp on stage, I would want everyone else in the audience to hear it's tone, not just me. Any overdrive from the DI out in the head would sound harsh going direct, hence if it were me I would go for a JDX or similar to smooth of the top end, and carry a regular DI or M80 as a backup.
18. Check out the Radial JDX, you put it between the head and cab, and it has a built in speaker simulator: http://www.radialeng.com/r2011/jdx.php This way you'll get a tone into the PA that sounds very similar to your amp. I'm thinking of picking up a low wattage tube amp myself along with one of these!
19. VT Bass rack? Switchable overdrive, or just for giving your amp a vintage Ampeg flavour, or backup DI if the amp dies! http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/vtbassrack.html
20. The link's currently down but I use the Diago one which is more easily available in the UK. No problems in terms of noise, it's quieter than my stand alone Dunlop 18v supply!
21. White ones are fairly rare too, that was a good deal!
22.
There is a demo video of a prototype of Spencer's (3Leaf Audio) upcoming Fuzz
This one too: I don't know if it was recorded direct or mic'ed, presume the former. Prefer the TAFM based on these clips alone but will reserve judgement until I've heard it through a proper rig!
23. The Talkbass threads on this pedal are rather amusing, so many people gushing over it and ready to hand their money over before they've even heard clips! Very interested to hear both of these though, I wasn't aware of Spencer's either! My favorite fuzz so far is the Team Awesome Fuzz Machine - only reason I would get rid of that is if they brought out a better/smaller version!
24.
I hsd a Custom Shop '61 Jazz with a quartersawn neck, and yes, it did make a difference to the sound. The extra stiffness made the bass a bit more "lively" than on the equivalent flatsawn version. the sound wasn't "better", but it certainly made a difference in that the bass had more overtones than the flatsawn version. To my ears it sounded a bit more "modern".
I definitely notice the same between my BB1025X and BB415, so I believe the quarter sawn laminate neck (and/or the biscuit jointed body and string through bridge) contribute to that. It's just his method of matching pieces I am questioning!
