1. Not sure if this is a prototype or Photoshop job but it would look so much better like this: Still, I'd love to give this amp a go. Only thing is, it is too wide for my cabs, and this would only just fuel the gas I have for the Bergantino NV115 I can't afford!
2. Try reading the English one then! http://hughesandkettnermicroamps.weebly.com/uploads/1/0/2/9/10292089/batt_-_bass_master_manual.pdf
3. Cheers, fingers crossed hoping I get a free replacement too! I bought it on here about a year ago, no idea of it's age before that so don't know if I could be covered under the two year warranty or not!
4.
FWIW, I had an early OTB, think it was a 2010. It died a few months back and the amazing Orange pretty much gave me a new amp, minus the main cover bit which had my name on....and it was even out of warrenty - brilliant service Anyhow i rememer the earlier 2010 model breaking up a lot earlier than this more recent model, 11 - 12 o'clock. I do however prefer the newer amp persoanlly and it does also break up around 1 - 2 o'clock with my speakers.
Just out of curiosity, did you deal directly with Orange to get this fixed or go via your dealer? Mine has died also and Orange told me too take it to my nearest Orange dealer, which is about 25 miles away, so I'm making the trip on Friday! Cheers, Dan
5. Damn, just when I decide to get off the fence about buying this one, I get pipped to the post!
6. How about something like this? [Img]http://www.planetoftheamps.com/holy-terror-pp-005.jpg" class="ipsImage" /> http://www.planetoftheamps.com/orange-tiny-terror-amp-sleeve.html That particular example is not cheap, but you may be able to find cheaper or just DIY!
7. Popping into my local PMT tomorrow to check out some Ashdown stuff. Has anybody tried the MiBass 2.0? I really liked the sound of the 550 in Ashdown's demo video, but I've not seen anyone post anything about the new 2.0 head
8. The cabs can take it - I've played a pair them at pretty high volume with the Orange Terror Bass. It's something to do with the drivers in these cabs having a slightly lower than specced impedance which drives power module in Micro VR nuts!
9. It's worth pointing out that the Micro VR suffers from a design fault that means they break up and crackle harshly when used with 2 SVT210AV cabs. They are fine with most other 4 ohm loads, and most other amps are fine driving a pair of those cabs, but stupidly, they don't work well together. There's a couple of threads on Talkbass about it if you want further details. I thought they might have fixed the issue by now, so I bought a Micro VR head to go with my pair of SVT210AV cabs after my Orange Terror Bass died a couple of weeks ago. The issue was immediately apparent even at low-medium volume, so it went straight back to the shop. The Orange Terror Bass is a perfect match for these cabs by the way, I'd recommend one of those, or pretty much any other micro amp over the Micro VR head (Ampeg PF350/PF500 if you want to keep it all the same brand) if you are set on using a pair of those cabs! Oh, and nice username!
10. I had an AD200B and it was barely ticking over on the gigs I played with it - 100W tube amp should be perfect for small to medium venues.
11. Surprised this one hasn't been posted, it's the first and only one I thought of: Alan Braxe - Running
12. Warwick do a set down to .175 aptly named 'Dark Lord'. They're not cheap though!
13.
I have two Spider cases if you want to have a gander at them at some point...
I had a medium sized Spider case and it fit my VT1 no problem.
14. Depends on what you mean by bi-amping - are you using a crossover to send only the deep lows to the Compact?
15. Try rotating it, worked for me!
16. If you're after a T-Bird, I'd check out the Epi Classic Pro IV - neck through and Gibson pickups, almost as good as the Gibson but far cheaper!
17. Another demo:
18. My solution:
19. That's just an amp turned up to breaking point! An overdrive pedal will get you there though. NIB has a wah - if you want the same pedal check out the Chicago Iron Parapedal or Wilson Freaker wah.
20. Ah yes the Monte Allum ODB-3 mod! Had mine sat in a drawer for over a year, must do it soon!
21. Never knew about that blue circle to go to the last page! Now, just tell us where people's location is in the mobile version so I don't have to switch to the full version when browsing the classifieds, and I'm a happy bunny!
22. They've sorted a dep out for the upcoming gig who's already played with them before so no immediate rush any more, but they are still on the lookout!
23. I guess when most kids pick up an instrument to learn they choose guitar because it's cooler (and cheaper to get started). Maybe they should come out with a 'Trumpet Hero' computer game to make it more popular.
24. Heard a rumour they'd fixed the overly hot DI issue, perhaps they achieved it by using lower gain valves. If you bought it second hand, a previous owner could have swapped tubes too - pull em out and have a look to see if they are 12AX7s!
25. I agree with BigRedX. There's sod all left handed instruments out there, so may as well try to play righty first! I'm left handed for writing, but right handed for lots of other things. You need two hands to play bass, so the whole left/right handed thing doesn't make much sense anyway. You need more dexterity in your fretting hand anyway, so I don't know why more right handed people don't play lefty basses!
