1. Doh! Just sent you a pm! Will have to get myself to Bass Direct to try one out.
2. You can make the expression control the pitch, see page 49 here for the options: http://www.zoom.co.jp/download/E_B3.pdf

4. When you say the pots were too hot, do you mean bright? I think these have 500k pots as standard, contributing to these sounding a bit brighter than your average Fender with 250k pots.
5. Stonking basses, I've been thinking of picking up the black/rosewood version myself!
6. For the price I don't think you can go far wrong. It's only a lump of metal after all! 17mm spacing on that particular cheap one though - yours is probably 18/19mm stock.
7. If the force was the same on each string and the neck thinner on one side than the other, then it should twist slightly unless the neck was strengthened especially to compensate for it (e.g. by moving the truss rod slightly towards the thinner end, or using a dual truss rod). But perhaps it's just by such a small amount it's inperceptible to the naked eye.
8. I can't help thinking that the neck would twist slightly under string tension with an asymmetric design?
9. Was about to ask if you'd be interested in splitting I'd like to try the phaser - but it's not on there!
10. I've seen a few chancers list T40s for really high prices recently but doubt any of them sold for such high amounts. Around £350 seems to be the going rate.
11.
Looks nice be interested in how it plays. Shame it's not 5 string.
There is a 5-string Squier VM Jag though!
12. I've tried a few including a Fender Original 62 and Duncan SPB-1 in my US Standard P and ended up back with the stock one! Sounds a bit brighter and louder than the others did.
13. Very similar to the Phat Phuk (dirty germanium boost), but with a gain and tone control is the Cream Pie I happen to be looking to offload...
14. New option out recently also: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/TC_Flashback_x4.html
15. Now in stock at Bass Direct! http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Mark_Bass_Multiamp.html
16. I cut one of mine, used a Stanley blade to lop it off right at the root, no band aid necessary.
17. The definitive guide: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/tim-commerford-265221/
18. I like that! I am a big fan of matte black finishes like that. The pickup looks like it's placed somewhere inbetween the Precision and Stingray positions, what does it sound like? EDIT: I guess this answers my question:
19. If you like your neck, but don't like the single pickup or body color, just look out for a loaded PJ body! Then you can return yours to stock at any time, or sell the CV body.
20. I've tried the D'Addarios half rounds, GHS Brite Flats and Status half rounds. D'Addario were kinda meh, a bit too rough for my liking, more like rounds than flats. GHS were good, although the G and D felt a lot rougher than the E and A. Status are what I use now, all strings are nice and smooth, almost flatwound, yet still fairly bright, and I somehow get more mwaaah out of these than the others! Plus the Status strings are far easier and cheaper to obtain.
21. Sonuus Wahoo if you don't mind a built-in expression pedal rather than a separate input for one! There are two filters, plus clean blend and a bit of drive, and you can set the start/end freqs for each and also have different resonance values for the high/low frequencies.
