1. In fact there's even more - all new colours and a 5-string Jag! http://www.keymusic.com/en/newproducts/Bass
2. Just spotted these! http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Precision-Bass-V-Olympic-White http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Precision-Bass-Fretless-3CS http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Precision-Bass-PJ-Candy-Apple-Red Shame they don't offer rosewood boards on the P5's though.
3. Stomp Under Foot also make excellent green and civil war clones.
4. I have 2 SVT210AV's and am a big fan of them - they don't have really deep lows however due to their sealed design, but that also stops them being too boomy on stage. Bear in mind that if you wanted to hook up four of them that would run at either a 8 or 2 ohm load in total, where most non tube amps dish out their highest power with a 4-ohm load and not many can handle 2 ohms.
5. Are they the same jumpers used in hard drives and PC motherboards? If so try a local computer shop, they cost pennies and will probably give you one for nowt. Also, if you have an old PC lying around, try taking the jumper out of the hard drive and it will probably still work fine depending on the setup - you won't do any damage trying as long as you do it when powered off!
6. Good luck with that! It would involve taking the switch from there, and either putting a smaller one in so you have some room to solder in some crossed over extension wires, or relocating the switch elsewhere. I would try and attach some sort of fabricated guard as already suggested. Or trade it in for the deluxe version, which also fixes the problem with the volume boost in dry mode (which you can fix with a mod to yours also).
7. Bassgear have a 2025X going for £1299 - if I liked sunburst I'd be all over it! http://www.bassgear.co.uk/product/5-string-bass-guitars-po/yamaha-bb2025-xvs-vintage-sunburst/
8. There's been a few questions asking where you are but no replies? I might be interested in coming to have a go if you are nearby but I wouldn't want to buy without trying first!
9. Similar pickup config to the Ibanez ATK. Still, very cheap for a Fender, are these MIM?
10. I've had a pedaltrain for years, always changing it about and never had to replace the velcro! I think it'll last a lot longer than you think. And sooner or later you'll want a pedal that isn't a Boss pedal, so I'd make the switch now!
11. I quite like this! http://r.ebay.com/JCH3tX
12. I think the 500K pots in the VM series do make a difference. I sold a VMP to buy a USA P and was quite disappointed in the sound at first due to the more subdued highs - until I strung it with flats and kept it like that ever since!
13. Yup - for instance on my Yamaha BB, the nut feels really close, but on a Peavey T40 or TBird it feels at least an inch further away. So it should be possible if you look at opposite ends of the spectrum to get a 35" bass that feels no longer than some 34" basses!
14. I like the look of the 5-string Jazz with narrow 42mm nut width: http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/ajb-v.html
15. I would recommend the Squier VM Jazz 5-string. Or a Yamaha BB415 / BB425 if you change your mind about Yams! My BB415 has a great low B, better than any other I've tried (which admittedly is limited to the aforementioned Squier, a Fender USA P5, Cort Elrick, and SBBM Ray35), so not all cheap fivers have a poor low B!
16. Since you're more of a P man, would you trade for a Matt Freeman signature Squier Precision in vintage white? I'm not too far from you either, just up the A1 near St. Neots!
17. Give Truckstop a shout, he might still be after one: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/200957-wanted-yamaha-bb1025x-or-bb425x
18. Try not doing that then? If you set each pedal by themselves to unity gain then you should be able to combine them in series without a volume boost. But if each one is set to be say 10% louder when turned on, then turning them both on raises the volume 20% (well not precisely, but it's just an example!).
19. GHS Brite Flats are ground wound, but are very smooth - as are the Status half-rounds I have on my fretless (which are even smoother). I don't know which half-rounds you tried before, but these two are much flatter and smoother than the D'Addario ones for example.
20. What distortion pedal are you using and what kind of sound are we talking - light OD or full on distortion? If for example, you're using an ODB-3 which is a feedback machine, try swapping it for an EHX Bass Muff Deluxe which has a built in gate (or getting a separate noise gate pedal). The gate will kill feedback when you're not playing anything - but if you're getting feedback whilst you're playing notes it won't help you there!
21. The first time I heard about them was when a friend had this made up - looks like it came out of Terminator 2:
