1. Or getting a beefier bridge pickup?
2. This is going to war with my Streamliner and the loser shall be sold!
3. Bargain, I just sold one of these for a lot more than that!
4. Likewise, no problems getting enough clean volume out of mine, although it is a bit hissy.
5. If you have to max the volume and gain to get enough volume then maybe your headphones are too high impedance for the Vox to drive then properly?
6. Well, the tube rig absolutely kills, but I'm no longer in the band, so I'm downsizing. Currently have a Streamliner and Ampeg SVT210AV, but may end up with a Terror Bass instead. Will probably end up missing it and coming full circle back to the tubes at some point, but will have fun trying out lots of different stuff along the way!
7. It's not for everyone, but sounds glorious used as a low gain overdrive boosting into a tube amp! Running at 18v is necessary though when using a hot bass like the BB415 to stop it farting out so much on the low notes.
8. The cab should be being picked up within the next few days.
9. Yamaha BB415, Catalinbread SFT and Bass Big Muff, Orange AD200B and Matamp 2x12. Orange set 10 o'clock on the treble, noon on the mids, bass at 2 o'clock.
10. I bought an A4 sheet of foam from eBay. There are two main types available, the spongey stuff sold as camera case foam, or the closed cell foam that's much stiffer. I bought the closed cell type but I think either would do the job just fine.
11. Might trade for the Terror back if you are interested mate!
12. Bump
13. Is that a flux capacitor on the left hand side?
14. Just discovered these guys too: Truly epic, gonna have to buy it. I spend too much time on http://stonerobixxx.blogspot.co.uk...
15. One of the few examples of tasteful slap on this Earth.
16. How could I forget SHRINEBUILDER!!!
17. Lots of new stuff to check out here! Really looking forward to the Acid King gig in Camden in June - saw them at The Purple Turtle last year and it was the best gig I've ever been too. Pure blissed out fuzz filling the room from cranked Ampegs and Marshalls! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Oy2fG2xzlU
18. Tis a good price, I've seen em from £250 to £350 used.
19. It's pretty simple to mod the BBM if you want more control over the wet/dry balance. I added a master volume control so I can have the regular volume at 2 or 3 o'clock to set the ratio how I want it then back off the overall volume with the new control: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/112212-bass-big-muff-volume-and-feedback-mods/
20. For Facebookers: The Cult Of Bass Distortion page often has this kinda stuff put up: https://www.facebook...237695669651404
21. Many recommend fellow Basschatter OBBM's cables: http://www.rock-wire.uk.com/ However, I got some recently from this eBay seller and they are very good also, but Van Damme cable instead of Klotz (I don't know if this is good or bad): http://myworld.ebay....sid=p4340.l2559 The silent jacks are great too, you can unplug from your bass end without making your amp explode.
22. I think it definitely has potential, never heard any bad reviews of it from actual owners. The whole issue with the blend sounding like two different sounds playing at the same time affects all fuzz pedals with a blend, but the sound meshes together more when you play with deader strings or put mild overdrive before or after it (or play into a tube amp). I think a blend is crucial to retain some dynamics in the sound rather than a 'fix' to try and retain more low end. The demos I've seen don't sound too great because he was using a really bright Jazz with the blend favouring the clean side. My favourite fuzz (and I've tried a lot) is still the Bass Big Muff with the clean blend mod. The fuzz itself has more than enough low end, but I mix in a little bit of clean to give me more growl and dynamics when I dig in, and it all sounds blended together and natural. I reckon the MXR could pull off similar sounds when used right, plus it can get more raspier/synthier with the gain cranked.
23. Who knows - but both speakers will probably reach their excursion limits well before 500W. The LF will probably take more power but will probably sound more muffled.
24. I would go for this instead: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eminence-Delta-15-15-400W-4-Ohm-Loudspeaker-Driver-/140723536631?pt=UK_ConElec_SpeakersPASystems_RL&hash=item20c3c6c2f7#ht_2583wt_1139 Almost the same thing, but cheaper, and it's not the LF version so will have slightly more top end, which is what you want if using it standalone.
