1. If the wiring from the terminals to the speaker look solid, maybe try connecting a small 9v battery to the speaker terminals to see if moves? Any tweeter or crossover network involved?
2. Cab provisionally on hold and sold, head still up for grabs!
3. I think you can only get 2, 8, or 32 with 4x 8ohm drivers. Only way to change is to replace the speakers, so you may as well buy another cab!
4. Only James Lomenzo's custom jobbies have the maple board.
5. I know Bassdirect have them in stock, don't know about Yorkshire though. I've been thinking of upgrading my BB415 to one! General opinion of them is very high, I would love to try one side by side with the 2025X to see if the ARE and IRA treatments provide any noticeable difference.
6. WoT, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Steamliner vs Walkabout!
7.
There was a thread on TalkBass stating that if you go for FMs you may have to adjust your truss rod, but I can't confirm that.
You should tweak your truss rod whether you change to a set of higher or lower tension strings if you want your bass playing at its best. Surprised nobody had mentioned TI (Thomastik Infeld) Flats! My favourite strings on a P by far, got some LaBellas on there right now but planning on switching back at some point.
8. Bought a Streamliner from Brian, he shipped it immediately and it turned up the next day, cheers!
9. +1 for OBBM, his site is http://www.rock-wire.uk.com. I've also used http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ultimateproaudio who make good stuff too.
10. The quietest bass I've ever owned was a Warmoth SG with (famously loud) Dark Star pickups and an active Audere pre. The loudest bass I've ever owned is my passive Yamaha BB415!
11. I got in touch with these guys earlier today about a custom cover for a Barefaced Midget. They replied straight away and seemed very helpful. I prefer the thick padded leather look to the more anorak looking Roqsolid! They can also make a velcro flap to cover the underside too. I shall be ordering one once I've got all the measurements...
12. Was that recently? Maybe they got their shiznit together. Anyway, I've been in touch with HotCovers about a custom cover for a Barefaced Midget and might go with them.
13. I like the vinyl look of their covers compared to Roqsolid's ones, but sure am glad I read this thread first!
14.
Love that he has added pic links....pointing to his computer hard drive
15.
No votes for PJB? Actually they might not be battery powered... Loud though!
Might not fit in the gig bag pocket though!
16. I got the same hiss... Solution is to never ever set the switch to active! I found it perfectly fine in 'passive' mode with a Stingray with the EQ boosted!
17. Glad I didn't buy one then - the swines! I wonder how many they sold on the basis that they lied about the weight?!
18. I always wondered about the weight of these, Ashdown list them as 9kg, which is what the Barefaced Midget weighs. Is it really 15kg?!
19. And the Marshall version: http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~Marshall---MS-4~ID~5146.asp
20. I can now sort out postage for this for anybody interested. I had a few PMs from people that were interested in having it sent but unfortunately they have disappeared from my PM box for some reason, so apologies.
