    I got the same hiss... Solution is to never ever set the switch to active! I found it perfectly fine in 'passive' mode with a Stingray with the EQ boosted!

    No, I bought it from this very forum 2 or 2 weeks ago. It's a great amp, but I want the same light weight with a more tubey sound and no tweeter so am going for a Genz Streamliner and Barefaced Midget!

    This combo has seen very little use and looks brand new. No pics yet but looks exactly like the stock pics! Amazingly light and loud - weighs 26.8lbs in total but you can unscrew the head and place it in your gig bag, leaving you with a super light cab that you can hand carry on public transport without breaking a sweat. LOADS of volume on tap from the 500W head and the speaker handles it well, plenty of grunt for small gigs (and larger ones with PA support). These are now discontinued and have been replaced by heavier lower powered models with fewer features! £400, can arrange a courier also as I have the original box.     It has 'tighter' more controlled lows, meaning it doesn't extend as deep as ported cabs, but has plenty of punch. Think more classic bass tone, like the sealed Ampeg 8x10. Still lots of energy down low where it counts in the 60Hz region! There is no tweeter so it has a nice smooth top end, which sounds GREAT with fuzz and distortion feeding it. Also, the drivers in sealed cabs are usually more consistent in their impedance rating throughout the frequency range, whereas the drivers used in ported cabs tend to have a big peak in impedance at a certain frequency. Valve amps are designed to work best with a constant impedance load, hence valve heads usually being 'happier' when hooked up to sealed cabs. Solid state and hybrid amps aren't so fussy and work well with both types of cab.

    I have here a lovely Ampeg B100-R Rocket Bass combo. Blue check cloth, silver grille, and very close in sound to the old B-15. Check out the love for this amp over at Talkbass, it's well regarded, and will suit you down to the ground if you play Motown/Funk/Soul. This is one of the original built in USA models before they shifted manufacture over to the far east. Good condition, no issues. [s]Yours for [b]£300[/b].[/s] SOLD!
