1. Check the strings aren't slipping, then keep tightening them - they won't break if they are below pitch. I think they must take a while to settle in since they are so stretchy!
2. Price? I hear the SVT sim on this is badass.
3. Er... what's the problem exactly? I can tune mine, although the strings can get stuck in the nut making things difficult. Either lift the string at the nut slightly to relieve the tension or lube up the nut slots with some pencil lead (that sounded dirty).
4. The B3 supposedly has some killer Rat and Muff simulations that can all be blended too, I have one on the way and can't wait to play with it. I Was not that impressed with the B2 so we'll see. Regarding the ODB-3, it has a monstrous low end, and while it can get fizzy, it sounds just fine as long as you don't boost the treble much and don't use a tweetered cab. It does have an inherent mid scoop though yet can still be heard, and is the cheapest way to make your guitarist sh*t himself for sure.
5. I've got one - but unfortunately am keeping it to use with my new toy that's on it's way to me (Zoom B3)! Works really well with the Xero. There's one on eBay currently £39 delivered but it could go up... Stick a wanted ad up, you never know...
6. Record a clean sound to your computer via usb with the B3. Then you can play that via either the headphone output on your PC or an MP3 player into the B3's input.
7. Only thing with octavers is that they can sound synthy and don't keep up with fast playing. Perhaps a digital one like the MicroPOG would though.
8. I'd start off with a Boss ODB-3, especially as you can pick en up dirt cheap used. I saw Acid King play last year and the bassist used one through a cranked SVT and it sounded immense. In fact I might just hold onto mine, perhaps have a go at modding it... Also the Bass Big Muff and new MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe.
9. Put them here: http://guitarpatches.com/patches.php?unit=B3 This site was a good resource for the B2. None there for the B3 yet, get in there!
10. I've ordered one of these now too with the proceeds of my pedal sale. I had loads of effects I wasn't really using, this will give me loads more to play with instead! The bass muff sounds pretty good in this demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXcF4qJKvI8 I have high hopes for the amp sims, OD/fuzz and Moog lowpass filter.
11. Have a new flatwound of choice then Mr WoT?
12. G&L SB-1 / SB-2: Yamaha Attitude:
13. Sorry but you've already set the bar now - you won't sell this without some saucier pics.
14. All sold now.
15.
She has one dong
Was this bass made in Thailand?
16. If you want to be able to sell to people with poor eyesight you should increase your font size in the original post!
17. I've tried the D'Addarios, GHS Brite Flats and Status Half Rounds. I wasn't a huge fan of the D'Addarios as they were still a bit rough; the GHS were good but the G & D felt rougher than the E & A and they were hard to get hold of. Then I tried the Status - inexpensive and best of the bunch IMO, I have them on my fretless.
18. On a budget I would check out an EHX QTron, DOD FX25 and Tonefactor 442 Bass / Boomstick Bottom Feeder. The Source Audio pedal is also a bit of a swiss army knife filter!
19. The Moog one should do the trick.
20.
I spoke too soon - before I checked the price.... That's ridiculous.
So is the price of the B3K, yet they still seem to be selling plenty of those!
21. Are these sealed like their 2x12s or ported?
22. They could have squeezed another J in between the P an MM too!
23. I for one think that the Lomenzo sounded awful. Adding a bandpassed distorted midrange in with your clean signal sounds artificial and you end up with low end loss since you have to have to turn the clean level down to keep the same volume. I say VT Bass if you want the sound of an overdriven amp, or a B3K if money is no object, or Behringer BDI21 if pennies are in short supply.
24. I like them, used one in a practice room a few times, easily keeping up with a loud drummer with room to spare. The overdrive circuit on it sounds goods too.
25. Spotted this over at TB. A new UK pedal builder had created and is selling a compressor based on the highly regarded 1176 and it looks pretty good! Although it might be worth waiting for Bongo's review first unless you happen to be near Oxford you can pop in and try one out. I don't think the builder is a member on here (yet).
