1. Your home-made Mammoth is described as a muff! I don't suppose Steve made that for you did he, it looks very much like the one he made for me!
2. This is now a ridiculous bargain, if I didn't already have my Orange rig and hadn't just quit my band I would jump at the chance.
3. I quit my band too but still keep my AD200B and Matamp cab for my bedroom rig... don't do it!
4. Knobs are brown and on the right and the pedal is brown, but the purple triangle screams Malekko B:assmaster: Maybe you saw a special edition of it in different colours? EDIT: Haha, great minds think alike!
5. I have an identical bass, added the ashtray and '62 RI pickup too! You'd have to prize it from my could dead hands though.
6. That's in great condition! Even more tempted now, especially since I'm spending a lot of time working in Southampton lately, which is halfway to Devon... Have you ever had it professionally serviced?
7. Check this out: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1968-Vintage-YAM...E-/320754855834
8. Get a special cable to run em in series and they will be 8 ohms together which will work through any amp! Then you can get another 2 of the same cabs and build a wall of doom.
9. Chris Morris came to one of my gigs once! Actually he was there to see his nephew's band. I think I was the only person around who recognised him, so I chatted him up at the bar.
10. Probably in the region of 10% - but only if someone pays the price perhaps? This puddinghead should have just posted a wanted ad on here!
11. If he's relocating, sounds like you need to buy the shop!
12. Couldn't find much info about this particular pedal on that page - is it a clone of anything?
13. Also be wary of fakes - I bought some Sony MDR7506 headphones after reading great reviews, thought they sounded crap so sold them. Only later did I realise just how many fake headphones there are out there especially on eBay and smaller sellers via Amazon, Chinese counterfeiters can create very good copies even down to the packaging, but just shove cheap drivers in them. Same thing with Shure mics.
14. That looks like you've been playing Tetris with bass cabs!
15. Depends how many pedals you use I suppose - and digital ones use lots of power. I can run ten analogue pedals no problem with one at 18v and could probably do more but haven't tried.
16. By the way, those 18v adaptor tips that convert two 9v sources to 18v only work if the two 9v sources are isolated, so it won't work with a Dunlop power brick.
17. The Diago uses a charge pump circuit to generate 18v. Not sure what you mean by it getting the 18v at the expense of others on the chain? Sounds like the Godlyke does actually use a step up transformer instead, especially since they market the fact that the output is isolated. Where did you get it?
18. It was indeed a Meinl cajon I saw, cheers!
19. I saw a band last week play where the percussionist was sitting on this big wooden block that he was smacking to get all kinds of kick / snare sounds out of. I've also just seen one on TV from one of the V Festival acoustic performances. I'm interested to know what these are and who makes them, anyone have any idea?
20. If you lived closer I would be very tempted indeed. Don't suppose you're going near London or Southampton any time soon?
21. I use a Johnnyshredfreak power supply and daisy chain, with a Diago 18v voltage doubler on one of the tips.
22. What's the difference between that and the Vintage? It looks like a 210 shoved down there!
23. A 200W valve amp can put out 200W of clean tone, but crank it a bit more and you can get a lot more volume with a pleasing overdriven sound. Solid state amps don't sound too good when pushed past their limit, hence why some talk about 'valve' watts. But if you can't get enough volume out of a 200W valve rig and 4x12, there must be something wrong! any venue likely to need that much volume will have PA reinforcement that will reduce your amp to a mere on-stage monitor.
