1. Of course! 1200W is the rated max power your cab can handle before it supposedly blows up, although you could probably still make it fart out with half that amount of power. A 200W valve amp will be LOUD through that and you won't have to worry too much about blowing a speaker.
2.
It is quite light, my scale says 3,250 kg
Eh? That weighs more than my car!
3. I've just put some LaBellas on my P, I need to play them in a bit more but I have a feeling I will be switching back to TI flats. They sound perfect on a P to my ears.
4. They have been going up in value, but I'm not sure if any of the ones priced £200 upwards on ebay actually sell. I thought £150-£200 was the going rate, but if you're buying for yourself and not just looking for an investment, get a Wren & Cuff Tall Font Russian or their soon to be released Civil War clone.
5. This is still here?!
6. Phaser - EHX Nano Small Stone or MXR Phase 90 will do the job nicely if you don't want to splash the cash on boutique pedals. There are of course many filters out there, the MXR BEF has many fans as does the 3Leaf stuff. I have one of these, it brings the funk for me:
7. I have a Trace Elliot 1153 cab which is now surplus to requirements. A great little standalone cab this - Tom Bowlus (who runs Bass Gear Mag) gives it a glowing report here. It's in what I would call 'gigged' condition - the carpet is starting to get a little fluffy in places, there's a scratch on the logo and paint chip on the grille. It has what looks to be the original driver with the Trace Elliot logo. It's rated at 200W, but I've gigged this in a LOUD rock band and had no problems getting enough volume out of it! NOW SOLD
8. I picked one of these up to use as a home practice amp, but I'm sticking to using my Orange AD200B! It's one of the Chinese built models, in mint condition. Asking for £300 delivered - less if you can pick up from Croydon! NOW SOLD
9. Not my cup of tea either, but still impressive - I bet Jaco and Victor Wooten weren't as good as that at his age!
10. Must be a mistake, they are £1799 on their website! http://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/ampeg-svt-vr-...r-amp-head.html
11. Maybe they priced them up wrong? Cheapest I can see online is £1441! I have a mind to buy all their stock and resell them on eBay!

You need to read this site mate, loads of compressor reviews written by Talkbasser Bongomania: http://www.ovnilab.com
13. The VT is great for that clanky grindy Ampeg tone that sounds great with a pick. The Catalinbread SFT is my pick for a more furry-vintage-fingerstyle-B15-Motown-era sound.
14. One thing to remember is that the AD200 is not flat with the knobs at noon - sounds best to me with treble at 10 o'clock, mids at 12, and bass at 2 o'clock.
15. Get the Behringer BDI21 as a backup!
16. Iron Ether Oxide?
17. Just emailed Ashdown to see if there are any differences between the LB-212 and VS-212 apart from impedance, they confirmed they are the same The Little Bastard with a pair of VS-212 would make for a monster 4x12 vertical stack alright!

It's only just come out, but there some very positive reviews on Talkbass. It has all the controls and metering of a rack compressor too!
19. I have one of these and it's a great filter. I don't use it that much, but hang onto it in the hope that one day I can play as funky as Spencer!
20. I found the Fender 5's too wide at the nut, but the Yamaha BB415 suits me perfectly. Try another bass!
21. I pair mine with a Matamp 2x12, sounds great and its the perfect size for the head. Doesn't handle the deep lows of a 5 string as well as the Orange ported cabs though.

I like the look of that MC6, it can go in the fx loop and sit on top of most micro heads without needing a rack!

I might experiment with compression again... this video of the new MXR Bass Compressor shows a clear improvement in the fingerstyle sound:
