1. One thing to remember is that the AD200 is not flat with the knobs at noon - sounds best to me with treble at 10 o'clock, mids at 12, and bass at 2 o'clock.
2. Just emailed Ashdown to see if there are any differences between the LB-212 and VS-212 apart from impedance, they confirmed they are the same The Little Bastard with a pair of VS-212 would make for a monster 4x12 vertical stack alright!

It's only just come out, but there some very positive reviews on Talkbass. It has all the controls and metering of a rack compressor too!
4. I have one of these and it's a great filter. I don't use it that much, but hang onto it in the hope that one day I can play as funky as Spencer!
5. I found the Fender 5's too wide at the nut, but the Yamaha BB415 suits me perfectly. Try another bass!
6. I pair mine with a Matamp 2x12, sounds great and its the perfect size for the head. Doesn't handle the deep lows of a 5 string as well as the Orange ported cabs though.

I like the look of that MC6, it can go in the fx loop and sit on top of most micro heads without needing a rack!

I might experiment with compression again... this video of the new MXR Bass Compressor shows a clear improvement in the fingerstyle sound:
9. If this were the 5 string version, in black, I'd be in trouble.
10. They are awesome. They measure 200W of clean power, with slight overdrive where it sounds best you get a hell of a lot more volume!
11. I've been listening to and playing mainly rock, grunge, stoner and doom metal, but now I am hooked on playing along to old funk and motown on my P-Bass! Jamerson has become my favourite bassist.
12.
After alot of trying and testing (not a cheap experiment!), I've found that lower guage LaBellas do the job for me. They don't go dead as quickly as alot of others (Status, for example) too.
I've just put some LaBellas on my P, don't like the sound right now, can't wait for them to go dead! TI's are my favourite at the though.
13. As low as you can get from a standard Levy's strap for me. But not as low as Rob Trujilo:
14. I've got an RBX270 that I've gigged with plenty of times, it's actually a bloody good bass! Don't worry 'bout a 'ting.
15. Dunlop nickels are my fave roundwound nowadays, much cheaper than DRs too!
16. Surprised Orange and Ampeg aren't on the list for a rock covers band! The new Ampeg PF heads are getting glowing reviews as is the Orange Terror Bass.
17. The Pearl octave pedal sounds quite like the OC-2, and has an added octave up for good measure. Lots if people are happy with the Aguilar Octamizer these days too.
18. Makes sense to me. The fretting hand is the one that requires the most strength and dexterity. I bet more people would do the same if they were given a free choice from the beginning rather than being told "if you're right handed you must play like this".
19. There's also a Blueberry just gone up in the classifieds: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=146169 If you buy used you can always flip it if you don't like it and not lose out.
If you want low gain, what about the wren and cuff Phat Phuk? low gain warmth is what it does...
It's pretty clean when stock, tweaking the trimpots can yield overdrive but it can be quite brittle sounding. Great for pushing a tube amp into overdrive though!
20. Catalinbread SFT is top of the pile for me.
21. I'm left handed in general but naturally play bass right handed. The way I see it, the fretting hand has to be the most precise so that should be my left! But I'm semi-ambidextrous since I use my right hand for certain tasks and left for others.
