1. Yamaha BB415 / BB425! I love my BB415, slightly narrower at the nut than a Fender 5 string neck too, which suits me perfectly.
2. I spot a common theme in band names for that particular lineup!

I've not tried a Moog to compare, but it's definitely a contender and many even prefer the Xero. Plus it has separate clean and filter volume levels which is nice, it's much smaller plus it's true bypass.

Get the Moog EP-2 expression pedal if you haven't got one already! Works great with the Xero.
5. Gramma Pad under the cab, or if you're using an 8 ohm cab, flick the switch to 4 ohms to reduce it's power output!
6. Never seen those amps before, I wonder how they compare to the Micro VR and the B100R combos... EDIT: Found this on Talkbass:
The 350 incorporates the Micro-VR's preamp and pairs it with a 350-watt class-D output section. The 500 borrows heavily from the 7Pro, but drops the tube, and adds some of the "tube emulation" from the Micro-VR.
7. Trace Elliot 1153 cabs sound great and you can pick em up for £100 if you're lucky. Fat low end, nice highs, and thankfully no tweeters. Stack a couple of those up and you'd have a kick arse rig.
8. Looks like a bigger uglier RH450 wearing an Ashdown amp sleeve.
9. Tonefactor have a 15% discount that finishes tomorrow too - JULY15.
10. Both totally different pedals, despite their Ampeg roots. The SFT is my favourite overdrive but it doesn't mimic a mic'ed up amp like the VT Bass is designed to do. I did a recording session a couple of weeks ago and went into the SFT into the VT - they work really well together. The SFT does flip the phase though! So for recording or gig emergencies, get the VT.
11. Very high tension though - I prefer TI flats on my P.
12. Buy it before you're forced to buy the MkII version that got hit with the ugly stick!
13. For me, it's all about the width at the nut. I found a Fender P5 unplayable (they use the same neck on the Jazz V as far as I know), but the Yamaha BB415 is just right, yet still has the same string spacing at the bridge as the Fender.
14. Personally, I couldn't stand the Lomenzo - sounded like an artificial narrow band of midrange distortion layered on top of my clean sound. I recommend checking out the Xotic Bass BB Preamp, which sounds like a tubescreamer tweaked for bass. Plenty of lows and plenty of highs too!
15.
For multi effects? I use the Johnny Shred Freak, you can get thatm a mains cable, and a daisy chain for under £30 and i've had no issues with noise yet
This.
16.
So I am thinking that the Thumpinator and the Auralex Gramma pad would produce the tightest most focus bass sound that I have ever heard or could also be a wast of another £170!!
I had precisely the same thought last week - Gramma has arrived, picking up my Thumpinator soon!
17. And sold to the prawn. Sorry, vegas...
18. Wait ages for a buyer and two come along at once!
19. Apparently the AD200B has no such built in filter, and my speakers fart out a bit if I go mad on the B string. Hoping this will help! Not picked it up from the post office yet though...
20. It's a cool little pedal, mine did drop off the sub bass though, so the blend is good idea. Hope that mode switch had been moved somewhere, because it's useful for er... changing modes.
21. Not tried the new Ibanez one, but I have the Xotic BB Preamp which is effectively a tubescreamer tuned for bass. The new Ibanez bass TS does have a blend but I'm not really a fan of blended overdrive. Blended fuzz / distortion however is another matter!
22. Should be picking mine up from the post office later too!
23. My first bass was a fretless!
24. If you have 2 amps or 2 channels you could also try the sfx X&M, I believe there's one going in the classifieds. It's a crossover and mixer in pedal, if you just use the crossover half you can send your highs to one amp and your lows to another.
