1. How about a Behringer Xenyx 502 mixer, they're pretty good actually: Although most places seem to be out of stock for some reason, but you'll get a good deal on eBay!
2. When you daisy chain another pedal from the Boss pedal, it somehow shorts out the resistor and gives the pedal full voltage. You can see this for yourself if you plug just the Boss in, then plug in another pedal and the LED gets brighter. I don't fully understand how this works, but I have read it in numerous forum post and confirmed it myself via experimentation with an old OC-2 I once had.
3. Sh*tty Link Parcel Farce Royal Fail Any more courier puns out there?
4. Check out parcel2go.com, you can get Home Delivery Network to pick up in the evening after work! Costs a little more though, but this cab is a bargain in the first place!
5. The bit that goes 'dur dur dur dur-dur' at the beginning of the Terminator 2 theme.
6. E7#9 (AKA the 'Hendrix' chord)
7. Get a new power supply, it's not worth the risk. As well as pouring too much voltage in, the polarity could be wrong, pedal supplies tend to use reverse positive / negative setup to most other devices. I recommend this one, it'll have enough juice to power a whole board full of pedals via a daisy chain if you decide to get more later: http://www.johnnyshredfreak.com/store/inde...;products_id=12
8. So, will you still have a job when you come back?!
9.
Honestly for a proper decent pair of headphone monitors I'd always get http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d.html/ref=r...72?a=B000AJIF4E Brilliant headphones, used widely at studio's and radio stations. Come in around £80 and kill off any of my other headphones up to £200~ ish.. Also claims of better bass responce etc.. You do NOT want. It just means they will be EQ'd to have more bass. Which you don't want! You want a good pair of studio monitor headphones with a very flat response. The lack of the headphones being unable to handle the bass is due to the phones' not being good enough.
Beware of cheap cans, there's lots of very convincing fakes around sold by sellers on eBay and Amazon. I bought a pair of those Sonys a couple of years ago and sold them because they sounded crap - it never occurred to me that they could have been fakes until much later when I read about them. The counterfeiters are able to copy everything including the packaging down to the finest detail - but of course the sound will not be up to scratch! Same deal with popular mics.
10. Never seen such an adaptor but I can't imagine it would be very good for an audio interface. I assume that just changing the plug would not work as USB and Firewire use different protocols. If the adapter contains a Firewire controller chip then performance won't be great tunnelling through USB so you'd be better off with a native USB interface. Looks like only Apple amd Sony are bothering to include Firewire on their laptops these days! I was thinking of getting a Motu 8Pre but not sure what USB equivalents there are except for the Zoom R16 I was looking at which also happens to be a great standalone solution!
11. My, plenty of classic Gibsons popping up out of nowhere lately!
12. His last topics were 3 separate threads for 'Ric 4003 wanted' followed by 5 separate threads for 'Ric 4003 for sale'...
13. Cool, I'll try and make it! I'll send you a link to some of our tunes later, we'd be well up for playing and know a few other band that would be too.
14. Just noticed they've stopped making the LB212 cab, I wonder why? It looked like a perfect match for the head!
15. I love these cabs. Cheap stack of doom!
16.
quotes"Seller charges sales tax for items shipped to: (6.5%). "i usually avoid buying anything overseas too
You'll get stung 20% VAT + £8 handling charge I reckon!
17. I reckon I could replace my BB415 with a 2025X without the missus noticing! Still overpriced though.
18. Indeed. Even terabyte drives a dirt cheap nowadays.
19. I think they are the marmite of the fretboard world. Some like a really bright tone so epoxy over their rosewood boards for isntance. Ebanol achieves pretty much the same effect, but to me it feels hard, cold and plasticy with the 'mwah' more of a 'rattle' when you have a low action. I prefer the warmer sound of rosewood, the softer surface just produces a nicer sound to my ears. I was interested in that fretless P with a maple board on here though, but I'm not sure I'd like it without trying it first!
20. Another Yamaha RBX270F owner here! It was my first bass and I still own it, I highly recommend it. Personally couldn't stand the plastic fingerboard on the Squier VM Jazz though.
21. I always use imageshack.us or similar for hosting images - you can upload multiple images, it can auto resize them and provide you with the necessary code to paste into the forum.
22. You say the neck is too precisiony? I thought it was a bit too jazzy! I'd love one but don't get on with really skinny necks I'm afraid.
23. Already check out, it's a black one Waiting for the day when somebody posts a green/grey for this price! Although the price of the black ones has shot up since they were discontinued too.
24. Baggsy mine! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=125997
