1. Not all Pyramid E's are dead sounding, I had a duff one, swapped it for a new one (great service from Stringstar) and it sounded much more lively with more sustain.
2. I've never had any issues with DR Sunbeams, although I have now switched to the new Dunlop nickels, since they're pretty similar but half the price.
3. The Radial JDI / JDX can be inserted between head and cab to capture the sound of the overdriven power tubes. I foolishly sold my JDI before picking up my Orange AD200, perhaps I should have hung onto it!
4. S1 series/parallel switch? Put it on a push/pull pot and you won't have to drill any holes.
5. What colour? Upload the pics to imageshack and you will be able to insert them into the first post.
6. It is a preamp after all, you are forgiven!
7. I'm assuming from the name that this is a woolly mammoth clone: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Big-Knob-Pedals-Bush...z-/180610910696 Very cheap! (at the moment)
8. Perfect fit too, I was wondering whether my AD200 would be too wide for a vertical 2x12. You just pipped me to the post on that cab Jim, please let me know if you ever decide to sell it!
9. Ah, thought it was a bit cheap!
10.
"Hate to say I told you so" but you can get somewhat close to that sound through any amp and an extremely common bass overdrive pedal
Fixed
11. Well, the Bass Terror a hybrid head with a tube preamp, but sounds nothing like it's bigger brother when overdriven. I love plugging my Peavey T-40 into my cranked AD200 and banging away on this riff, it makes me grin like a loon (go to 2:09)!
12. Word on the street is that there is a dirt cheap Arion clone that has more volume on tap if you can find one on ebay! Otherwise check out Aguilar or MXR, or see if sometime like Max @sfx can mod it for you!

Gig Amp

300W is fine - you can always turn down if necessary! There are combos from Ashdown, Trace Elliot, Line 6, Peavey and Fender that wil all do a fine job and you can often pick them up dirt cheap from the for sale forum here, gumtree or eBay. It would also help if you told us where you are, whether you're after new or used, what your budget is and what music you play!

15. I think I might go for one of these red ones, fit a black bridge and tuners, and add coil taps (which might need new pickups, not sure)...
16. Now spend the money you saved to buy the parts necessary for this! Vital if you want to use the dry mode without annihilating anything within a 50ft radius. Unless of course that is your intention. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=112212
17. Bargain! Already got one though!
18. Awesome pedal, someone should nab this quick!
19.
Sansamp BDDI, or, for the more budget-conscious, the Behringer BDI-21.
This or the VT Bass if you want the typical tubey rock tone as in the video you posted.
20. That EB-3 looks a bit sexy!
21. If you don't get on with the little ones, try those big triangles out! Practice makes perfect.
22. You should just add a reply to your own post and it will bump up to the top, and you can edit the first post if you want to change the title etc. Just saves having so many threads around, after this is gone they will be lurking unless you close them all!
23. Yeah, I've ordered stuff from GAK (and others) where I ring up 2 weeks later to ask where the item is only to find it was never in stock even though the website said it was. Imbeciles.
24. I think a lot of it has to do with the strings and setup. I thought the B was a bit weak with the standard strings, but put some DR Sunbeams on it and it sounded spot on, with the B was very balanced with the other strings. I've since put some Dunlop nickels on and messed with the setup and the B doesn't sound as great now, I think I need to raise the action on it a bit, or try out another set!
25. New year, pre-eBay bumpage...
