1.
Sansamp BDDI, or, for the more budget-conscious, the Behringer BDI-21.
This or the VT Bass if you want the typical tubey rock tone as in the video you posted.
2. That EB-3 looks a bit sexy!
3. If you don't get on with the little ones, try those big triangles out! Practice makes perfect.
4. You should just add a reply to your own post and it will bump up to the top, and you can edit the first post if you want to change the title etc. Just saves having so many threads around, after this is gone they will be lurking unless you close them all!
5. Yeah, I've ordered stuff from GAK (and others) where I ring up 2 weeks later to ask where the item is only to find it was never in stock even though the website said it was. Imbeciles.
6. I think a lot of it has to do with the strings and setup. I thought the B was a bit weak with the standard strings, but put some DR Sunbeams on it and it sounded spot on, with the B was very balanced with the other strings. I've since put some Dunlop nickels on and messed with the setup and the B doesn't sound as great now, I think I need to raise the action on it a bit, or try out another set!
7. New year, pre-eBay bumpage...
8. PMs replied to! I may have a local buyer for this now, there is another one for sale on here for those that missed out!
9. I've recently moved on to the big daddy AD200 so this little fella is now surplus to requirements. MINT condition, along with the carry case and original box, only used in the house at low levels. Yours for £350, priority given to those who can pick up from Croydon/London, but will be able to post once I've procured a suitable box and bubble wrap! NOW SOLD
10. You say an overdrive might not fit, but I think otherwise. Not something like the Boss Bass Overdrive of course which is actually a nasty sounding distortion pedal, but a nice low gain overdrive tomake your hybrid terror sound more like a proper vintage tube amp. I also play P-Basses with flats into an Orange Terror and have tried nearly every overdrive pedal going and I reckon for your application you can't beat the Catalinbread SFT, which for vintage thump with extra hairy balls, slays the VT Bass every time.
11. I recommend the Yamaha BB415, a bargain at only £269 delivered: http://www.rattleanddrum.com/product/3110/...-pearl-5-string I bought one from the same shop last year. With both pickups on it has plenty low-end boom and top-end growl required for metal, plus it can do a decent P-Bass impression with just the neck pickup which is perfect for the blues. It's the best cheap 5iver going IMHO, and has a narrower nut (easier to play) and tighter low B than the Fender USA P5 I owned before it.
12. The cabs aren't as efficient as other designs, but they'll go very loud with lots of power going into them. It's been said that in speaker design you can only have 2 out of 3 when it comes to small size, deep lows, and high sensitivity, and these cabs sacrifice the latter.
13. My very first bass was a fretless, which I then proceeded to gig the hell out of in a punk/indie/grunge band, Guess I should have left it at home.
14. It's all about the big Dunlop triangles. Tortex: Or Stubby:
15. I'm a fan of mine too. I was going to trade it for an Orange OBC115, but it was the Orange that sounded too dark, not the Trace. That's definitely not the standard driver in there, and it does look like the 3015 as it's ribbed.

Even though they are supposed to have the same pre-amps, I think the Terror has an active EQ which is supposedly flat at 12 o' clock, whereas the AD200B is supposed to be flat with treble at 9 o' clock, mids at noon, bass at 3 o' clock (I think). Also, some people say 10 to be the max setting rather than using clock positions which makes it hard to know what they're referring to when talking about settings!
17.
I was under the impression that 10's don't have a sound, and that 8x10 cabinets were not a good design... Will this be the worlds first vertically aligned 6x10?
Doubt it, I wouldn't fancy my chances balancing a valve amp on top of a vertical 6x10!
18. Shouldn't have any problem mooving that.
19. I'd love to trade my BB415 up to the 1025X but I need to play one first to see if the difference is worth it! Anyone compared the two?
20. Me too. My BB415 is looking on in envy. Shame the new models don't have the black headstock of the older BB414/415.
21. You're a little late to the party. That fretless came over 2 years ago and the other one a couple of months ago!
22. Bump with price drop!
