1. Just joined a band recently, had a great time in the first rehearsal. I recorded our first jam on my new Zoom H2 recorder, and was pretty impressed with how we all seemed in sync even though we we'd never played together before and were making it up as we went along! I heartily recommend the H2, it's perfect for recording jams to capture new ideas and the quality is very good for such as small unit. This is the sound of a Yamaha BB415 through a BB Preamp (also a bit of Wilson Freaker wah later on) and Fender Rumble combo that was in the rehearsal room (actually a very nice sounding amp): http://www.box.net/shared/k5j1a64v7t We may be doing some proper recording in the new year!
2. What's the length? I'm on the hunt for a new strap but it has to be at least 55" hole-to-hole.
3.
Bought and sold on here - all pleasurable transactions. Can I suggest that from this point on the word "bump", to move a thread back to the top, be replaced with "TIM?"
DONE
4. TIM WHY HAVEN'T YOU BOUGHT MY STUFF I THOUGHT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO LIKE BASSES
5.
THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SITE FOR BASS ENTHUSIASTS, EXPENSIVE BASSES, CHEAP BASSES, WHATEVER , ALL I CAN SEE IS GUYS LOOKING AT PICS AND MAKING COMMENTS ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, ITS A WASTE OF TIM ADVERTISING ON HERE AS FAR AS I CAN SEE. IS THERE REALLY ANY POINT IN HAVING A FOR SALE SECTION?????? CHEERS GEORGE
This is indeed a site for bass enthusiasts, and bass enthusiasts like nothing more than to look at and make comments about other people's basses. Especially Tim. The for sale section is an added bonus, and it's free so stop complaining! I have 2 tips for you: - Don't post 4 adverts for the same bass, just reply to your own topic (people often just write the word Bump!) at it will go to the top of the list. But go easy, it's bad forum etiquette to hog the top spot by excessive bumpage. And delete your extra bump posts so your thread doesn't get clogged up! - DON'T TYPE WITH CAPS LOCK ON, THIS IS HOW YOU SHOUT AT PEOPLE ON THE INTERNETZ!!! But yeah, trading has slowed down lately - nobody's buying my bass or pedals, I might have to hit eBay/Gumtree soon...
6. Thank god you didn't display a photo of you wearing one on your 'other head'!
7. I didn't know you could get those from Thomann, I'll definitely bear that in mind as I'm gassing for a tube amp!
8.
40db attenuator link
Cheers for the link, they are only just over a fiver now! I'm sure somebody else got a switchable one somewhere, 40dB sounds rather a lot, but you can get 10,20,30 or 40 from the place linked above.
9.
Snow joke.
Icy what you did there.
10. Your back won't be a fan though - they may look small, but they are heavy!
11. Big muff mods: http://rkerkhof.ruhosting.nl/Taas/Mods/Big%20Muff.htm There's info on the noise gate mod in there and also the feedback mod comes highly recommended, same as what's in my Supercollider Beast!
12. If you're after a high quality Colorsound Bass Fuzz clone, the sfx Micro Fuzz is a good option:
13. Shameless plug time, I'm selling a Behringer Micromon MA400, you can use your DHA DI to feed into the mic socket (I used a Radial JDI with mine): I know it's Behringer, but the sound quality is pretty good and it's cheap as chips!
14. Nice work! I suggest adding a Nocto Loco... I have the kit for one ready to build that's been sitting here untouched for over a year! One day I shall finally build it...
15. I've not tried that many filters, but the WMD Fatman is certainly what I'd describe as deep and throaty, along with the Chicago Iron Parachute or Wilson Freaker wah pedals if you're not just limited to envelope filters. Heard god things about the Guyatone BR-3 Bottom Wah Rocker too, they did some re-issues recently too due to demand from all the Tool fanboys!
16. After a year or two playing with myself, I'm now gigging once again. Haven't posted for a while, but here's what I'm currently rocking: Wilson Freaker Wah -> Korg Pitchblack -> Xotic Bass BB -> SFX S&M with Bass Big Muff in the loop -> SFX X&M with Carbon Copy and Small Stone in the high channel I had to pick up the S&M to blend the Bass Big Muff since EHX screwed up and made it so you can only mix in your wet signal with 100% dry level on the blended mode, which gives too much volume. But I need it as I haven't managed to find a better combination than my BB415 with both pickups on into the BB into the blended BBM! Such a doomy crunchy tone yet with plenty of clarity, since it's effectively a light overdrive and boosted fuzz in parallel. The Freaker is a smaller cheaper more adjustable replacement for the Parachute wah that I have up for sale (will get around to eBay-ing it one day). It sounds evil going into the fuzz! The X&M is there so I can just add delay and phaser to the midrange and treble, although I mainly use these for freakout oscillation noises, adjusting the pitch with my big toe whilst playing bass.
17. Wounded Paw Battering Ram?
18. The SFX is great for a Muse sound. If you want to borrow mine I wouldn't mind a temporary swap with your DHA fuzz!
19. A few pedals for sale that I'm not using at the moment: Markbass Distorsore - Mint condition, includes original power supply but not the box or manual. Here's the product page which has a demo video on it. Cheapest I can find online is £172 + delivery, yours for £120 delivered. SOLD
