1. Well, it's a P-Bass - it works for everything! You're welcome to come and try it any time, just send me a PM if you're interested.
2. In my old band we had a drummer that used to slow down throughout a song, and throughout the set. He didn't last long! A later drummer used to play everything too fast and get obnoxious if we asked her to slow it down because she had a degree in music and we clearly didn't know what we were talking about. The guitarist / songwriter used to just follow the freakly little metronome in his own head rather than me or the drummer and I felt that I was the only one holding it together. I'm not in said band anymore!
3. Get the 1000W version which will be able to go louder at with the gain knob lower?
4. What's the board made out of? I really like the look of this thing - don't suppose you have any clips of it recorded, I've never heard a piezo fretless?
5. £600+ is common. £500 is a pretty good deal. £350 is sale of the century, especially if it's only a couple of years old. Post pics if you get it. If you don't get it, tell me where it is!
6. It has a dedicated 'AGS' overdrive stomp switch, although a complaint I've heard is that it boosts the volume so it's not the kind of thing you want to kick on and off mid-song.
7. All products come with 30 day money back guarantee! http://www.machinadynamica.com/machina33.htm
8. Can I see a pic of your Muff?
9. You could try a capo on the 3rd fret - instead D standard tuning!
10. Sorry, not interested in trades at the moment, I'll be here waiting if you sell your amp though!
11. Use Boots padded plasters, the thick white ones. They will likely need replacing after a few songs so keep a bundle in your back pocket! I did this once and it got me through a gig pain free. I would never use superglue myself!
12. Nah, I'm hanging onto it for now, although I may pick up a used BBM if I see one so I can compare them side by side. I discovered last night that VT Bass -> Sub-Lime sounds sublime! The fuzz is pretty mellow by itself, hitting it with a bit of a treble boost sounds awesome.
13. I've seen them go for £100, but some have priced them much lower at around £80.
14. I received Theo's one yesterday and I'm liking it so far. It is quite subtle compared to my Supercollider, but on the other hand it handles high output basses much better and the low end absolutely ROARS. A very useable bread&butter fuzz sound that retains definition very nicely. I think it will be a keeper until I can find something that sounds as good in a smaller package - I want to check out the Bass Big Muff next!
15.
It might be worth bering in mind than when Leo designed these things, It doubtful he was expecting them to survive for 20, 30+ years...
Do you mean Leo Fender or Leo Quan (inventor of the Badass bridge)?
16. Also, have a scan through http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=26654, you might find someone local in Kent!
17. Well I've been wanting to check the sub-lime out so I'll take it!
18. Sure, you can have 2 keys for £700 and I'll throw in a free bass.
19. +1 on the SFT. I have a VT Bass, and the SFT trumps it for old school motown / funk tones using a P-Bass and flats (the VT wins for grind with roundwounds though). I've owned an EBS Valvedrive and DHA VT1 before also, they would all do a fine job (EBS sounds more old skool between the 2).
20. There's also a Subdecay Baby Quasar and a teeny tiny Malekko Phaser coming out in case you missed em!
21. Those Westfield purple P-Basses look cool... It's a shame that that Fender don't offer the same colours all these cheap makes do!
