1. No idea who Kurt Ballou or Converge are (you should post some clips) but this is pretty ridiculous yet defined! $120 delivered (plus you won't get hit by customs charges )
2. Not impossible, just expensive - Diamond Memory Lane and Malekko 919 are analog tap tempo delays!
3. Black Sabbath or Wolfmother Wolfmother split up and reformed with a new bass player recently, I was gutted it wasn't me! Still, just as well, Sydney is a bit of a trek for regular rehearsals.
4. I've bough quite a few things online from the US, here are my tips: - Ask the seller if they would mind marking down the price to $25 to avoid customs charges. I know a couple of retailers that do this by default, so I never pay taxes on my pedals! - If it gets stuck at customs, they will send you a letter with a customs reference number, but it takes an extra week or so to arrive. Most USPS mail gets sent via Parcelforce and you can use the USPS tracking number on the Parcelforce website. If it shows on there that the item is being held, you can phone up your local Parceforce depot and pay the charge and arrange a free redelivery. They don't like doing this without the reference number but they CAN do it with just the USPS/Parcelforce tracking number if they can be bothered to look it up on the computer. Also, one time I was told I could not pay over the phone or get a re-delivery, I had to go into the depot and pay there and pick it up. When I got there they said I was given the wrong information and that I could have paid with my card over the phone and had it re-delivered for free! So if they say that then it's most likely because they couldn't be bothered so phone again to see if you can speak to someone else.
5. I lemon oiled my board for the first time recently, just loosened the strings... a bit of oil inevitably got on the strings so I gave them a good wipe down afterwards, which gave the added bonus of making them cleaner and more slippery! When changing strings, look carefully at how they are done beforehand (assuming they are done well at the moment!). You want to get the string on the correct side of the peg so that it doesn't come off at an angle from the nut slot, and try to wind them downwards so that the string sits lower and gives more of an angle as the string goes over the nut.
6. What about the pickups? I hear the Gibsons sound way better and totally different to the Epis, I wonder what the Tokai ones are like?
7. I'm moving to Croydon in a couple of weeks, not heard of this place so must check it out!
8. +1 I have set on my P and they are the best I've tried. I like the sound of rounds on a P too, but I'm just going to have to buy another bass so I can have one of each!
9. I like the sound of them, but most of the combos I've used have been pretty weak volume wise. I'd love to try an ABM500 with big cabs some day though!

Trade for a kidney? It's in good condition, very little substance abuse.

Aarrgh, I want one of these! Can't afford it though....
12. Another lefty who plays righty! I'm left handed, so I let my left hand do all the hard work on the fretboard, makes sense to me! It's just the way that feels most natural, I wan't forced into playing this way. I'm all mixed up though, I'm a bit ambidextrous, although most activities are either left or right only and can't be easily swapped: LEFT: Writing Pouring a drink Holding a glass Sawing wood / chopping vegetables etc Throwing / catching a ball Playing snooker RIGHT: Playing bass / guitar Thowing a punch Using a screwdriver Playing cricket / tennis Having a Tommy Tank
13. You should really resize those pics before you upload them, my poor laptop's struggling!
14. I would suggest a DHA VT1-EQ-Drive (which has a DI, headphone amp, etc), or a Sansamp VT Bass combined with a Radial JDI / ProDI.
15.
Status Half-Wounds. Such a comfortable, nice sounding string. Good for slapping too imo. Not too pricey at £20ish delivered from the Status website.
These are awesome on fretless!
16. I just bought and fitted a Fender 'Original' pickup last night, which is the '62 re-issue. The wiring on the coils is much darker than the shiny copper wire I had on the old MIA pickup and also the 62 RI has a brass baseplate that goes underneath the pickup. If the wiring is dark in colour and you have the baseplate then it's probably a 62 RI.
17. Looks just like mine but in slightly better condition - I see you're using flats! I have flats on my P-Bass, but this sounds too good played aggressive fingerstyle with DR Sunbeams and both pickups on full in single coil mode for me to change it!
18.
I think you'll struggle to get your £40 in my opinion.
Why? I know a lot of people bash them but there is still a big market for them and they are £70 - £80 new.
19. Korg Pandora PX4D portable multi-fx / headphone practice unit, with amp models and fx for bass and guitar. It can take a line in from an iPod, cancel the bass from it, record a clip to slow it down, and it has a drum machine too! Good condition, with manual and batteries, but no belt clip or original box (although it will be sent in a nice replacement box!). £50 posted
20. I think that one ended up with me! I love it, it sounds unique. I reckon it could do with a pro setup and some fretwork though, I get fret buzz in certain areas that I can't cure by adjusting the bridge/trussrod. It is 30 years old after all!
