1. Big ears. Like these ones: Search for half width rack ears and some should turn up. If your gear isn't exactly half width then you may have to get custom ones, or you may be able to get them from the amp manufacturer. Best to send them an email and see what they recommend!
2. Do it. Red basses look rubbish with anything other than a black scratchplate IMHO!

Pedal Buzz

What are the pedals? Some have a positive ground instead of negative, and they can't share the same power supply. You can get around this by using a power supply with isolated outputs (e.g. Voodoo Lab Pedal Power, BBE Supa charger, T-Rex Fuel Tank) or an isolation adaptor (e.g. Diago Isolation Adaptor, Gigrig Virtual Battery) on the daisy chain for the pedal that has the positive ground.

SOLD

I would have had this off you if it weren't for the fact I'm buying Alan's butterscotch blonde MIA this afternoon! Good luck with the sale, looks like a good 'un, with tasty upgrades.
5.
okay definately the last bump for this then its going on ebay on saturday. i've also got a jack casady for sale and an 80's trace elliot head for sale but cant be bothered to set up threads lol nevermind!
There's a couple of people looking for Jack Casadys in the wanted section if you still have it for sale!
6. If you're lugging gear around on public transport, it can be done with the right gear. I've done it with a bass in a gig bag over one shoulder, Pedaltrain Jr/Mini in a soft case over the other, and a Markbass CMD121P amp on a little folding trolley. But a car is certainly the way to go if you're gigging / practicing a lot! Which part of London have you landed in?
7. Also, update your profile so that it shows your location. Aria make jazz and precision style STB's, they are decent cheap basses, but don't usually have as good a resale value as a Squier for example. There's usually a few on eBay so you can guage a price, then try asking on here or the gumtree and sell on eBay as a last resort because they fleece you! Oh, and nice bass Clarky!
8. Quite unusual, anyone seen one before? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gibson-Epiphone-Bass...id=p3286.c0.m14

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-1963-Precison...id=p3286.c0.m14 'No shrinkage' but it's so warped you could fit your hand down the side!
10. I've just got myself a nice Fender MIA Precision now, so am moving this on. I think the MIA plays nicer but this VM still sounds better - maybe due to the Duncan designed pickup which has a nice throaty roar. It's in very good condition, no dings anywhere apart from a couple of light scratches on the back which I can take pics of later. She is strung up with DR Black Beauties and is nicely set up. I will also chuck in a Fender gig bag. Pickup only, or can meet within reasonable distances (I live in Streatham, SW London). No pics just yet but it's the white Sid Vicious style one like this: http://www.squierguitars.com/products/sear...rtno=0326800505 Like the Classic Vibe series, the Vintage Modifieds are a cut above the regular Squiers and some say on a par with MIM Fenders. [s]£170 £160 £150[/s] SOLD!
11. Yup, Virtual Dub can split the files without re-encoding the mwhich reduces quality, Windows Movie Maker can only do it by re-encoding them which is a bit pants.
12. +1 That's what I use, here's a link. Get VirtualDub, open the file. Make sure audio and video are set to 'direct stream copy' in the menu so it doesn't try to re-encode the video. Hold down the shift key and drag the slider around (which snaps to 'key frames' which are faster to seek to and are the points where it's best to snip the video), place the start and end markers atthe desired points and hit save to export that potion of the avi. If you can't open the avi, try installing the latest version of ffdshow.
13. Yeah, take me off the list too please. I'm not after a new cab right now, but when I come around to it it'll probably be the Big One, and I can hopefully check one out at the forthcoming bash!
14. I do this with 2 devices; a Radial JDI (any DI box will do) and a Behringer Micromon. Bass goes into the DI, which also has the pass through to the amp - alternatively you can use the DI output of your amp. The XLR output on the DI then goes to the mic input on the Micromon, which has a thru socket for sending the bass to the main FOH mixer if desired. You can send the monitor mix (or iPod) to the line in on the Micromon, it has no thru socket but if you need to send the monitor/iPod to another source you could easily use a simple splitter adaptor like this (since a thru socket would likely just be wired up directly to the input it achieves the exact same thing): The cheapo mixer option would work, but be warned, a passive bass won't sound great plugged straight into a low impedance mixer input, you're best off with a DI box going to the mixer! You could also check out the Rolls PM351: Although it's larger and way more expensive then the Behringer. The Behringer sounds good, has low noise and is really tiny (smaller than it looks on-screen).
15. I've sold it now, but I had a nice Warmoth SG for sale on here a little while ago: Not all the Gibsons / Epis are short scale either. The Epiphone EB-0 is shortscale and the EB-3 is longscale and has dual pickups. Not too sure on the Gibsons but I believe there are both type floating around. I've also heard that the Epis sound very muddy compared to the Gibsons, but that might be what you're after!
16. Nowt wrong with trying to sell it for more than he paid for it - £500 sounds like a bit of a bargain for this, they look to be £1100 - £1200 new. trouble is expensive gear seems to be moving slowly at the moment unless it's really popular stuff like a Fender bass for example.
17.
Is it just me.....Or does it look like its had a 3 bolt neck put on a four bolt body?? Look closely at the picture of the back of the bass, and use the zoom option
"The neck and body join is to an expert professional standard." My arse!
18. The Pedaltrain Jr with soft case is much lighter, which is a big deal if you're lugging stuff around on public transport. By the way, the Spider Engineering medium pedalboard case is a nice snug fit for the Jr, with room for cables and stuff or maybe even a volume pedal down the side: http://www.spider-engineering.co.uk/music/...sp?id=3877-4748
19. The Blackstone sounds really good on bass: http://bassfuzz.com/2009/02/08/dirt-review...-overdrive-2sv3
20. My favourite colour for a P by far. Just missed out on the one that was sold on here - let me know if you ever decide to sell it!
21. I've always used the harmonic vs 12th fret - how come it gives a false reading?
22.
(No pound sign on my keyboard)
If you're using Windows, hold down Alt and type 0163 on the numeric pad. Or run 'charmap' and select any symbol you like. Yours Sincerely, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Geek

24. He wasn't asking for £100, just saying that's how much they were at Dolphin Music. Wow, I didn't realise how cheap these were, the Memory Toy's out too. Love to hear someone compare it to the Carbon Copy!
