RICKENBACKER 4004 LAREDO - AS NEW - SUPER RARE

It works fine unless you force the switch into the middle position where it's not designed to go and hold it there, then the sound screws up for a while until you turn it off for a few seconds. I don't think mine is faulty in any way, just a design flaw, as I tried it on a friend's small stone and his did the exact same thing. It's still under warranty so I would have got it fixed rather than scam someone on here with a dodgy pedal if I thought it was broken. Only reason for sale is I've now got an Option 5 Destination Rotation Single that blows this out of the water!

If I max -1 Oct and turn the other knobs all the way off to solo the octave for a keyboard synth sound, it's nowhere near as loud as the regular bypass signal (at least on the one I had). I'd like to be able to turn it up so that the solo octave could be even louder than the normal signal at full crank!

Interested in the OC-2 mod - can you also mod it so that a solo -1 Oct is as loud as the dry signal?

I'm selling these as I don't use fuzz much and I prefer my Supercollider to both of these. First off is a Frantone Bassweet, which is a super-heavy super-creamy stoner fuzz. This is the actual pedal reviewed on Bassfuzz.com - I bought it from Grygrx, the owner of the site. Although the paint has suffered somewhat, everything inside is in tip top condition though and has been given a once over by the pedal builder, who also updated the circuit to the latest specs. According to Fran, new version is a bit tamer in that they have much more control in the lower Sustain settings and a different tone contour. Frantone has now ceased operations so these are no longer in production. Frantone product page Talkbass thread including audio clip Bassfuzz.com review If you can still find one, it will cost you $350 plus delivery & taxes to obtain one of these. I'm after [s]£120[/s] SOLD! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And finally, we have this custom one-off Woolly Mammoth clone, built for me by Dangerboy - The Hairy Elephant! Where the old controls were Output, EQ, Pinch and Wool, I've renamed these to Volume, Tusk, Trunk, and Hair. The only thing is Trunk and Hair are swapped around so that Trunk controls the gain and Hair controls the gating, when it was intended to be the other way around! But it more than makes up for that by have a PINK LED! Steve did me a bargain on this one, so I'll pass it on - [s]bargain at £45 posted[/s] SOLD!

That Talkbass description was right though - you get lots of clackety-clack as the strings hit the fingerboard. Also, as the strings 'mwah' you hear a bit of harsh rattling as the string vibrates against the board. That's why I prefer something a bit softer like rosewood, and with flats or half rounds, fingerboard wear won't be an issue.

Filters sound good before overdrive (Sansamp) and after heavy distortion/fuzz (Boss HM-2) I reckon. Boss Heavy Metal into Sansamp is also a nice sound, and I prefer flangers etc nearer the end. Multicomp placement is a tricky one, but since the overdrive on the Sansamp is so touch sensitive I would choose to put compression after rather than before it. If you've got the stadard Decimator I'd shove it at the end, if you got the one with the fx loop put it first and put all of the other pedals in the fx loop. Boss Heavy Metal EBS IQ Sansamp Multicomp Flanger Decimator

Status Hotwire Halfrounds They are rounds that are then ground down to be as smooth as flats. They are very smooth indeed, so no finger noise and they're kind to your fretboard, but they have a bit more sing and sustain to them than regular flats which is great for fretless. Bags of mwah with these - only £16.99 too!
Not 100% sure if this is in the right forum, but what the hey! just thought it would be cool to see what strings people use (and combinations of srings). I've heard that people don't like the tone of certain strings in certain places eg. so EBs might have a lovely 'E', but you use elixers for the 'G' and elites for 'A and 'D'. Also, do you thru-body some strings and put others through the bridge? I was thinking something like this: Current Set up: E - medium - D'Addario - bridge A - medium - D'Addario - thru-body D - medium - D'Addario - thru-body G - medium - Elites - thru body Feel free to put a dream set up
How come you don't put your E thru-body? Never really thought of mixing and matching like this before.

I'm just breaking in a set of Pyramid Gold flats on my P at the moment, they're fantastic. I've not tried LaBellas, but these are supposed to have all the thump of the LaBellas but with a lot more going on in the midrange. They also sound broken in immediately (unlike the Chromes I tried previously) and apparently stay sounding like that for a long time without getting excessively dull.
